The magic is in the Multi-Touch.
The new Magic Mouse redefines what a mouse should do. In addition to its smooth, seamless top-shell design that acts as one button or two, Magic Mouse features a Multi-Touch surface with gesture support. Scroll vertically, horizontally, and diagonally — a full 360 degrees — simply by touching anywhere on the top surface. With a greater surface area for scrolling, you can get around a long timeline in iMovie, through a lengthy web page in Safari, or around a set of images in iPhoto more efficiently. You can also swipe through pages in Safari or photos in iPhoto with two fingers. It’s the most advanced Apple mouse ever made.

The seamless, one-button design of Magic Mouse makes it simple to use right out of the box. But if you want the functionality of a two-button mouse, that’s easy, too. I use expose and spaces a lot... unfortunately, there are no buttons or gestures that could enable these...hopefully apple will develop software that could enable these with gestures, overall it works nicely, i love the scrolling on it, very smooth..but still upset that i cant add expose and spaces functions to my $70.00 mouse.. …More

This product would go nirvana with proper software update. With the lose of the 3rd & 4th button as we have on Mighty Mouse, if you cannot wait for the software update from Apple itself, there is many third parties out there that release the update. With their updates, functions like tap click and multi finger swipes to activate exposé or spaces are available, acting just like a MB trackpad. Not sure why is Apple holding off this update, but who knows!
At first, I couldn't get my iMac to sleep after installing the Magic Mouse, because it would wake up automatically after few seconds. Then I read on the forum which I can turn off the "allow bluetooth device to wake this computer" option in bluetooth advanced menu, that problem has been solved ever since.
The sleek design of the mouse itself cannot be beaten. But because of its smaller size, you may feel uncomfortable at the lower part of your palm after long period of use with this mouse. This might be worse for those with bigger hands.

I'm running an HP laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate. The Magic Mouse paired with the laptop
via Bluetooth on the first try. Windows added a generic driver, which provides all cursor
movement and button click functions. I have not yet discovered how to add scrolling and
swiping or any other "wheel mouse" functions or any additional buttons.
But the basic functionality is there and the simple Windows mouse driver even supports
setting the cursor speed and accelleration and click speed and other properties, so I think
it's just matter of time before I discover how to engage the other functions by learning the
scan codes used by the device and emulating them in a TSR. Of course, I'll prefer to have a
driver that will handle that, but I've literally just installed the device and am only now starting
to search.
