    AT&T is the exclusive carrier for iPhone in the U.S. This means that iPhone is configured to work only with wireless service provided by AT&T.

    Yes. Your new iPhone is shipped to you already activated. All you have to do is set it up in iTunes.

  • Can I upgrade to an iPhone if I already have a contract with AT&T?

    Yes. When you click Get Started/Check Eligibility, we’ll review your account to determine your upgrade eligibility and pricing. Some plans may not qualify.

  • I’m an existing AT&T customer. What information do I need to provide to buy an iPhone online?

    AT&T requests the following information to determine eligibility for an upgrade. This type of check will be performed wherever you buy your iPhone — whether it’s from the Apple Online Store, Apple Retail Store, AT&T, or any other retailer.

  • If I’m approved, do I have to buy my iPhone now?

    When you’re approved through the Apple Online Store, you can put an iPhone in your shopping cart and keep it there for up to 30 days. You can also visit an Apple Retail Store to buy your iPhone up to 30 days after you’ve been approved. You can restart the iPhone eligibility process at any time.

  • Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?

    No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract.

  • Can I transfer my current phone number?

    Yes. Your current phone number is transferred to your new iPhone during the iPhone set up process so you never miss a call. When you receive your iPhone, just set it up in iTunes. Then you can start making calls using your current phone number.

  • Can I use my current rate plan with an iPhone?

    Yes, if you currently use iPhone 3G or 3GS. But if you have an iPhone 2G or other smartphone, you are required to have an iPhone voice and data plan. Get started by checking your eligibility and reviewing the AT&T rate plans.
