Since this is a quick charger, won't it reduce the overall life of the iPod/iPhone battery?

The answer is "no." Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer batteries are all generally considered "quick charging" due to their chemistry. They pack greater energy density than batteries such as NiCad and NiMh and thus have a higher capacity-to-weight ratio, have the ability to charge/discharge faster (Amperes), maintain a charge longer, and have no "memory." L-ion and LiPo batteries do, however, maintain the greatest cycle-life when kept between 50-80% capacity. …More
