The academic version is identical to the retail version. The price difference is due to the licensing agreement between Adobe and the reseller. However, it has been my experience the price is even lower when purchased at your student bookstore (providing you are a student or staff/faculty with a valid ID). …More

If I go to the Apple store will the same student discount apply? Or is it just an online offer?

If you go into the Apple store, the only software discounts that you
will be able to use are Apple Software products (example: iLife). If you want the discount,
you'll have to order the Adobe CS4 Suite online from Apple's Education Software Website.
