Great!

Just works since the day I took it out of the box. No reboots, no slow service. The device is transparent - exactly what you want from a wireless netwroking device. Delivers great reception throughout the house. I keep this in a enclosed bookshelf, on top of my DVR (not the best location), and it just plugs away. No overheating, no worries. Highly recommended. …More

This is the best wireless router that I have found on the market and have used. I have never had to reset this
, never had any kick offs like with other routers. I have it in my basements, in my office. My wife works upstairs
. She has a mac book pro and I have the 24 IMac, waiting for my new 27 coming today. I have my work PC set up along with a wireless printer and a shared printer as well. …More174 of 189 people found this useful

I have used this router for 8 months. Great replacement coming from linksys routers. Setup was a bit lengthy but after the setup the router hasn't been off since. Airport Extreme truly sets a precedent when coming to consumer routers. …More

Solid reliability
Written by CZ from JACKSON HEIGHTS

This is my first Apple router after I switched to Mac 3 months ago and I must say I am highly impressed with its solid reliability and overall performance. I like airport diagnostics that can usually tell you if and what the problem is, easy setup, no drops of signal when streaming large amounts of data and of course aesthetically appealing :). I was going to purchase a TIme Capsule but the previous ones had serious reliability issues, so I am going to hold off until they are resolved. Compared to all my previous routers I am in router heaven, I use it with iPhone and Apple TV - works well with each of them. …More

Best Home Networking!
Written by DS from San Diego
Dec 14, 2009
I tried to create home network using Linksys equipment, external and networked drives and found myself managing, fixing network issues, repairing it about 50% of the time - it was frustrating and on top of that it was very slow. I barely used my networked drives because it was extremely slow to copy files onto it. one word - Useless. So i decided to accept my losses and get this router - setup was really easy, i connected all my USB drives to it using USB hub, connected printer and about 2-2,5 years later after not touching anything or changing any settings everything still works and i am writing this review :) Seriously, i don't remember last time i was frustrated with network issues or fixing anything - after i initially set everything up (took MUCH MUCH less time to set it up compare to linsys box) everything still works and i didn't have a single issue. Copying my HD home videos to my USB networked drives is almost as fast as having them connected to my laptop directly, maybe a little slower but i don't have to get up from my couch after making a movie to copy it to a drive that sits in my closet :) Streaming 9GB home video from wireless drive connected to AirPort box actually works!!! if you looking for a new wireless box or looking to replace your existing - just buy it. :) …More

Let me get this straight: I can plug my ethernet cable into Airport Extreme and it converts my current internet service to wireless? Or am I way off?
- Asked by CD from Mascotte

Actually you are spot on. That is the whole purpose really of AirPort. As you say, plug in your ethernet cable and the AirPort Extreme Base Station, set it up and it becomes your wireless access point for your home, office or wherever you will be using it. It will allow any computer, Mac or PC to wirelessly connect to the internet provided, of course that you have an ISP (Internet Service Provider) and it also has dual Band Wi-Fi so any Wi-Fi device will also use it to connect like an iPod Touch or iPhone.
You can also plug a USB printer into it so that any computer on your network can print wirelessly as well. You can even plug in a USB hard Drive into the base station for use as a network drive which can also be accessed over the web if you are away. If you own a PS3 or XBOX the base station will also allow you to connect those devices wirelessly to your network. …More- Answered by CB from Schenectady

Does Airport Extreme provide a greater range than Airport Express?
- Asked by PS from Guildford
- Oct 1, 2009
Best Answer
Technically no, but for certain customers, their environments may make it seem so. Wireless interference is one of the main causes for certain customers having a bad experience with the Airport products. Take note of how many other wireless networks are around and what devices are in the same area that utilize similar wireless technology. The Airport devices use same wireless technology and consist of the same hardware. With the Airport Extreme, you get the Dual-band feature and the extra ethernet ports.
Hope this helps. …More- Answered by KR from Folsom
