Pros: Plug and play, no software, super simple to use, SNOW LEOPARD capable, matches the Alum series Mac's (if you're in to that sort of thing), extremely light/small, feels very solid, extremely quick upload/download for USB 2.0.
Cons: Metallic paint comes flakes off very easily, no off switch (have to unplug it to turn it off). …More34 of 36 people found this useful

I purchased the eGo Helium along with my new MacBook Air. It was simple to setup and start using. I throw it in my briefcase and take it with me to work or into my backpack for the weekend. I have dropped it, I have beat it up and it remains rock solid. A great addition to my apple family. …More

This has to be by far the best hard drive i have ever used. It makes a sound when you plug it in but you can hardly ever hear it. it is so small when I go on planes i sometimes forget that it is still plugged in …More

Iomega 320GB eGo Helium Portable Hard Drive
Doesn't Work
Written by DD from Wenham

I bought the product to back up my hard drive using time machine. However, about midway through the transfer, it simply stopped. Now the computer can't even access it or register when it's connected, and the Hard drive just makes a strange noise as it speeds up and slows down. Needless to say, I'm returning it and getting something else. …More

Short answer: You need a 'Y' adapter to supply this drive with more current/power.
Many notebooks (including Intel-processor), especially the ones with PowerPC processors typically don't supply enough current to spin up and sustain the operation of 2.5" external drives through the USB port, unless you use a 'Y' adapter (occupies two USB ports on the computer end and the mini-USB end connects to the hard drive. …More- Answered by PH from Arcadia
