    Have had one of these for about a year and a half now, and it's performance has been flawless. Pay no attention to the idiots claiming software for PC's only, just connect it via USB to your MAC and you will be ready to go in a few minutes.

    Works for mid 2009 iMac one week in.

    It is confusing that the software that comes with it is PC only, and APC's own online support material says the same for this model. But connecting the UPS via USB to the Mac automatically brings up the UPS power icon in the menu bar. The profile can be set in the Energy system preference, with all the options you need to configure the power settings, including the time before shutdown. Be careful no other software is hijacking your USB ports, such as a running VMWare instance; this'll prevent the Mac from recognizing the device.

    The title says it all. I can't stop the thing from beeping about a failing battery because I have a mac. I can't even use it as a simple power bar because of this now.

    Great Power Support Option for the iMac

    I have used several products but this one works well with the Apple line. The iMac detects the UPS via the USB data cord that comes included with this UPS. It provide great surge protect and standby run time. The UPS preferences are very configurable to automatically shutdown gracefully.
