Great sound but cheap corners cut.

This mic has an excellent sound. Recording quality is as good as you can get especially for the price. The build of the base and mic itself are super sturdy but the knobs are cheap and awful.
The USB connection is at an awkward spot that causes it to bang against the stand when moved. It causes serious damage really quickly with the connection. Its built for quality sound but not built to last.

    Wonderful Conference room mic!!

This mic works wonders for me. I have it suspended from my conference room ceiling connected to a mac pro for VOIP calls and video conferencing... It has been working great for about 9 months or so. The room is a 20'x25' or so. I wish it came with a baffle or something since I have speakers in the overhead as well, but I just have to fine tune it to reduce any feedback, if I have any. Most of the times it is really an issue on the remote ends.

This is my second microphone now. My first was from a completely different company and it somehow developed a terrible tinny, static sound over time and I was so disappointed so I had high hopes for this one. I record music and vocals on a regular basis so I needed a microphone I could really depend on.

First of all, the design is so beautiful and practical. Turning the mic upside down in the holder is a great way to store it on your desk when it's not in use (whereas with my old mic, I had to store it in my desk drawer in a sock, otherwise it would just lay there and roll around and get damaged). It's very simplistic and it actually feels a bit lighter than it looks.

The sound quality is impeccable and really not expected from a $150 microphone. I've only had mine for about 3 months now but it really hasn't seemed to age at all. It's also very easy to use on a mac, not complicated at all.

I would recommend this product to anyone for any reason.

Solid, well built device. Great user interface, all you had to do was plug in and start recording. So happy that I treated myself to this microphone. The sound is fantastic, and there are multiple settings on the physical microphone for any type of recording you wish to do.

    Great but cons

Got this microphone since 2 days ago and I must say it's a pretty big but very nice looking microphone. Although the sound haven't blown my mind yet.
I'm still configuring with the settings to get the best out of it. My mic is like 8 inches away from my face and once I'm speaking with gain low you can barrely hear my voice and onve I bring the gain a bit up you already start hearing things from 10 feet away and soft background noices. I hope I can fix this soon!

    Best USB mic

This is the best USB mc I have used, even better than the goofy snow ball. I use this for voice overs and Garageband. If you have even the slightest concept of how to record music this will work perfect for vocals and acoustic instruments. Great product.

Seems that people complain they can't hear me. when I check Sound Preferences the input volume has return to nil. Adjustment corrects the issue.

Got the Yeti a couple of days ago and connected it up to my Macbook pro running Lion and had no issues at all. I was recording in a couple of minutes of unboxing. Also works like a charm on my iPad 2 but does need a powered hub (I have a small Belkin one) to work. Word great with garageband and other recording apps. Awesome to have a studio quality mic for the price, especially with all the modes and patterns that this baby has! Definitely a worthwhile purchase.

    Blue Yeti Pro USB

Upgraded to Lion OS X and Blue Yeti Pro. Does not work. When plugged in USB, the cable is loose light blinks. Seems high quality product, but manufacturer skimps on updates and fixes. Spent approx $300, and very upset with Apple and Blue for not resolving before launch.

A quick search reveals that many others are having this issue. Try to avoid investing in USB microphone until Apple or Blue resolve this issue.

Having messed with music & recording equipment for years, I recently made the move to Apple and recording on the computer. I didn't want to have to buy interfaces and cords to use my existing equipment. I wanted something that would sound good and was easy to use. I got what I paid for. The mic sounds good on vocals and recording my acoustic guitar. I would recommend this mic to friends and family. It is plug and play....

This microphone is fantastic. I bought it to use with my laptop, and it does that perfectly. I got the idea to try it with my iPad2. I used the Apple Camera Connection Kit and plugged the microphone in. I did receive a message that the iPad couldn't power the device, however it works perfectly with the iPad. I have been using this for about a year with multiple Macs and iPads with no problems or issues. I reccomend this microphone to anyone needing a reliable, quality way to record audio. And it looks really cool!

Just buy a cheap POWERD USB hub from anywhere. Plug the Camera Connection Kit into the USB hub and also plug the Blue Yeti into the USB hub, and it should work!

I initially purchased the Yeti strictly for the purpose of recording vocals as all of my guitar tracks are usually recording using a direct input. Eventually I decided to try recording a live take with multiple musicians along with vocals and the sound was amazing. Plug in and record. Love it!

It is not the cord either it is the mic itself i use the same cord for my camera to up load pictures. I called apple to return it but they said it was too late. for the week it did work the sound quality was very good.

    Worked great until ios 4.2

IOS 4.2 upgrade changes the power out put for the camera connection kit, they reduced the power from 100ma to 20ma. I have the 64 gig wifi iPad and recently brought the blue yeti microphone to record my band practices. iOS 3.2.2 powered my microphone and the recordings were great! I was so excited about the new iOS 4.2 that I didn't wait to see if there would be problems, now I cannot go back to 3.2.2 apple will not allow it and my 140.00 dollar mic. Can not be used with my ipad. There are professional photographer that can not use the iPad for their on location shoots because their unpowered card readers no longer work! I hope its just a bug?

    My experience in 2 weeks

Blue is definitely a great company who make great products for both consumers and professionals. I by no means am a music professionals, just someone who prides himself in putting in a quality effort, with quality products to produce a quality result.

The Yeti is very simple to connect. Plug and Play in all honesty. I do voiceover work for footage of video games and publish my content on YouTube. Coming from the built-in mic on my iMac, I decided I needed something that would give my viewers a more pleasing, professional experience. This is it. With the ability to select between different pickup patterns, and the built in input for listening to yourself, this was a purchase I was not about to miss.

5 stars. Great voice quality with no editing, solid build, hefty but professional feeling. For the money, you can't go wrong.

    Fantastic Microphone

Excellent Microphone! This mic picks up the clicking of my phone's keyboard from 6 feet. The clarity is unbelievable, it picks up all of my instruments (including what I consider to be a rather soft ukulele) like a charm. It sounds so good, the music almost records itself. My only complaint (which is not really a complaint) the volume knob seems like a cheap plastic material. The different recording modes really help shape the sound to how you want it, and allow for a variety of recording scenarios. Strongly Recommended!
