Material > Build Quality > Sound Quality

    • Written by from Falun

Had mine replaced after a lot of weird problems finally pinned down to these earphones being faulty, probably some grounding issue, made one of my headphone amplifier make crackling noises and to make another USB amplifier hang to be restarted several times a day. Please note that I tried like three different cables with the same results.

After I had them replaced the sound is different, the new pair has way more bass and lacks detail, the earlier pair had a more flat monitor like sound that I really enjoyed.

My final conclusion is that these now days look a lot better than they actually sound.

    Awesome Headphones!!! 1 HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

    • Written by

First of all I have to say that these headphones are simply spectacular!
My B&O earphones just broke & I wanted to give headphones a try, but their H6's won't be out until June/July in HK.
In my opinion these have strong basses, mids & highs-for USD$299.95). Very natural clarity along with outstanding R/L stereo, if you like the signature crisp B&W sound you'll love these.
Love the New Zealand sheep's skin leather, very comfy! But they feel like they could get dirty too easily...I got them in Ivory. Not a single component of plastic on them which makes it feel even more luxurious & sturdy. Removal ear cups & cable, beautiful travel pouch included!!!
I got them in Ivory "white", & even right out of the box they have this dirty white appearance to them.. I was hoping for a brighter complexion. The texture of the leather feels dusty too, I got them at Apple so I'm deciding if I should swap them in for the black ones.

Overall a great product (apart from the "Ivory" colored leather, which is partly my problem since chose the color) I think I got everything I paid for in these headphone!

    Fantastic sound, Comfortable fit.

Everything I want to say about these gorgeous cans have been said by most other reviewers.

They sound incredible. Better than any headphones I've ever used and I've owned my share of studio headphones (AKG, Shure, Sennheiser, etc.)

Totally modular, replace the chords easily, or the headphone covers themselves.

Super comfortable. Ultra high quality super soft leather. It drowns out the sound around really nicely. I was actually surprised at how well it achieved this.

I was looking for headphones to replace the iphone in-ear buds. I go through a pair of those every few months and my ears are such that neither the buds nor the noise cancelling rubber tipped ones stay in my ear very well. I find them uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time and the sound quality was mediocre at best. I had been considering some other ear buds but couldn't find anything that stayed in my ears or gave me the sound quality i was looking for. I then turned to the foldable Sennheisers, but the remote/mic didn't fully support the iPhone 4 and the sound quality wasn't quite there.
I had done quite a bit of research on the P5's and they seemed like they might be a good alternative. Then I had the opportunity to try 'em out. Within a few minutes of use I knew I would be leaving the store with a pair.

With the high price tag I am still a bit wary about wearing them around wherever I go, but the more I use them the more I want them with me at all times.

P5 is just..awesome. Amazing sound, quality material, really comfortable, unique design.... The only down side is that it is little pricey. But it is worth it

Okay, so they are a little pricy but, you definitely get what you pay for. They sound great. The bass is just right and mid-range is not weak. Overall very good sound. They are extremely comfortable could easily be used for long listening. They provide just the right amount of noise isolation. If you want to spend 300 on headphones these are definitely it.

These are really great. I've got the Bose Quietcomfort but this blows the Bose product away.

I love B&W products, and these are no exception.

I tried so many headphones to find the right ones and these are from far the best. The built is great and the conception very smart. When it comes to the sound, it is crisp and clear and very close to the music you are listening to regardless of the type!

    I definitely recommend those!

    Not HiFi

They have tremendous difficulty reproducing mid range and perform only moderately well with vocal. Exceptionally poor reproduction of Muddy Waters... Also, the volume control failed after one week.

Sound impressive but not very mobile and for me not comfortable

    • Written by from Redwood City

pros: sound quality is awesome, I was impressed with how little power/volume you needed to provide with the iphone to drive them, I liked putting them around my neck and turning them up to have little speakers around my neck.
Cons: I would not want to use anywhere but an air condition or cool place. The were not comfortable on my big head, hence reason why I kept listening to them around my neck.

Since I would not use these for a true mobile solution, meaning carry them around in jacket or even bag, and for my head they were uncomfortable I returned them.

OK phones. Build quality disappoints. Super cheap cable.

    • Written by from brooklyn

The phones are good, but the build quality i expected from a B&W branded product is lacking. The headband wrapped in leather hides a cheap piece of plastic where a full metal frame should have been.

The biggest disappointment is the cable: it is cheap, like airplane free headphones cheap, and really contrasts the phones it's attached to. The build quality of the cable is terrible: after only 2 months of use, the inline mic and controls no longer work, and the jack, if moved around a bit, creates wild variation in volume.

Basically the cable has to be replaced after just 2 months of use. Not acceptable for a product with a $300 price tag. Curious how fast this "premium" product will fall apart.

I'm on my 4th pair of these pricey headphones--the left ear cup dies after a few months of use. I baby these things and only use them at my desk. Bowers & Wilkins certainly honors their warranty, but this is ridiculous.
