    Craptastic

I'm on my 4th pair of these pricey headphones--the left ear cup dies after a few months of use. I baby these things and only use them at my desk. Bowers & Wilkins certainly honors their warranty, but this is ridiculous.

Poor execution of B&W colored sound style

    • Written by from Brooklyn

They carry some design aspects of B&W loudspeakers in being richly voiced, but the execution in this product is lacking in a variety of areas. Bass is over exaggerated and a bit slow, leading into tubby sounding mids that makes voices sound chesty and hollow. The upper mids and lower treble are shelved down until the upper treble, which is then pushed back up to provide some air and sparkle in sound. Almost as if the sound was designed to make an impressive introduction without having any real substance.

Disappointed - save your money !

These headphones are overpriced and do not deliver the promised sound quality. Now I am stuck with them, even though I would love to return them to the store, but it is too late now. The headphones do look good and are well made but just like one of the person mentioned on this forum they sound as if the music is muffled. My old Beyerdynamic DT 250-80 ohms headphones sound so much better. The B&W P5 are now collecting dust . . .

    Great desing, not great sound

    • Written by from Helsinki

Too much bass and overall blurry sound. Try out before buying. You can better sound quality in 50€ headphones. I really liked the design but the sound quality is so bad that I don't recommend these for anyone. Maybe they'll make next version with the same desing with great sound, then I'll definately check them again.

    Absolutely no durability!!!

    • Written by from Desoto

The first time I used it, it was *okay*. I say this because i had to amplify the midrange using the equalizer on my laptop which isn't a good sign. It also made my ears hurt but i have big ears and wear glasses so that's understandable. My biggest problem was how depressingly fragile they looked plus the cord looked breakable and it was buried in the left can with a movable jack that could be torn right out. ooh, foreboding... YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS: Second time I put them on, something happened to the electronics in the 'phones. I couldn't hear vocals or bass at all. I put on my beloved Technics (i'm a dj) and they sounded fine (and notably better than the P5 before it lemoned out on me) so it wasn't a problem with my laptop. And i didn't abuse it before, i only used it once while lying in bed and then i disconnected the cord from the left can and nicely stored it in the box. These headphones are grossly overpriced, when buying headphones always remember to buy ones with a design that won't compromise it's durability. I'm returning these and getting some beats by dre.

    Very disappointed

    • Written by from Simpsonville

I read a lot about these and went to my local apple store to try them out. Upon doing so I was throughly impressed by not only the sound but also by the feel. So I purchased them despite the high price figuring I would get what I was paying for. However upon bringing them home I discovered that to use them with my iMac that I would need to use the other cord provided as the cord that was attached was for the iPod/iPhone connection. The cords were relatively easy to switch so I switched them. Upon plugging into my iMac sound only came out on the right side. I removed and replaced the cord and then nothing!! The cord is probably bad which wouldn't bode well for the future even if replaced. I am going back to return them. Headphones that cost this much should work and sound flawless. After so much anticipation I am very disappointed.

    no, no, no

    • Written by from Penthalaz

No, no, no, these headphones are not good in any way. Great design sure, but talking about sound reprod, it's below everything I've tested - and measured till today. The voices look like shadowed thru a towel or something. Well, I measured them with high end measuring instruments just to clarify this. More than 15 dB drop between 1 KHz and 6 Khz, listen, the apple 2 bucks earbuds are far better than that ! So the design is awesome, the apple remote control is fine, but for that price, they could at least have integrated a bose or sennheiser system there, instead. Really disappointed, send back :(
