    B&W P5

I don't own very expensive Hi-Fi systems or headphones but i think my ears have heard enough of them to give the B&W P5s a fair review.

Sound, the most honest thing i can say is, they would sound brilliant for some but leaves others wanting more. They are not up their with the high-end nor are they down there with the group that uses brand to market themselves(you know who they are). The highs, mids and lows come in together nicely, but it depends on the content your listening to, if you like instrumentals and vocals, these would be good enough to satisfy my taste(my taste is not easy to satisfy) and more if you're the average listener, and they give enough detail too. But lets say you are from the younger generation, with all the new sounds from more recent artists, you may find yourself wanting more, as these content requires a bit more in the lower end and the P5s don't deliver enough. Not that they don't have it, it's just not enough, and for the price we're paying,I would prefer the P5s to be a bit more of an all rounder, just because people listen to a lot of music and the genres are too diverse. Hit 2 birds with 1 stone. It's hard to be done, but they are B&W, they're one of the best. P5s will never be spacious sounding enough, because they are not real speakers and they are not open-backed, so the sound will just go straight to your brains. But in the case of the P5s, it's not too bad. Sound isolation is good enough, i still can hear outside noise but not enough to bother me, they won't leak unless you turn on your music too laud.

Design and quality. They look great and feel great, PERIOD. AWESOMENESS

Comfort. If you have regular sized head and ears, they will sit on your head nicely.

Final thoughts. They sound and look great.

Advise? Try to audition one, and make your decision from there. Do not buy something if you can't have a listen 1st. Do not depend on other people's advise, let your ears and heart do it for you. One thing is true with sound and to a lot of other things, "to each, their own".

Hope you'll find my advice helpful.

And of course the sound will sound better if you used it with a dedicated sound system and a lossless source. This is a no brainer.

The sound quality and dynamic exceeds anything I've heard from another headset. Extensive listening is comfortable. Crisp bass, mid, and treble are perfectly balanced. Worth every penny of three hundy. Get down on these.

wow, i have been intrigued by B&W ever since i purchased a zeppelin for my ipod (a year ago)... subsequently, i can't help but to get the panorama for my TV but, i have never thought i will have something to take with me on my hours of travels in planes and airports (also by B&W) accompanied by my ipod touch + ipod nano i must admit... a bit of a crazy shopper, but a serious apple addict at heart...
if i were to sum it up, i would say it has the signature B&W stamp on its sound and regardless if u are an audiophile or just enthusiastic with beautiful un-distracting clear clean sound, this is definitely one of the better choices for headphones... as a shopaholic (not unlike myself) would tell you, i have also tried the noise cancelling BOSE and DR. DRE (yo - mann -), and as much as i love the idea of noise cancelling and deep heavy bass beats it recreates, i immediately second guess my needs for such features (god is the dj, i'm just a listener)... on top of that, having to switch it on and the extra chore of rechargeable batteries (i like to think i love the environment), and then put it back into the headphones + the slight heat and very quite but OHM like buzz sound, are just not part of my repertoire as i have too much charging already going on with my laptop(S), phones, ipad, ipod(S), iphones... gosh... it's time for a solar charge my friendS! B&W however, you have done it again :-D

To Start : I have Had many varieties of headphones in the past 6 months looking for something that was well balanced all around. IN many efforts and failed attempts after going through 5 different types of headphones an many different brands I have found a set that are balanced all around.

Breakdown: The P5 Mobile may not be for working out and running but come on don't buy headphones like these with hopes that they will be they are very durable and extremely Comfortable all around. They are slightly pricey but for the price that i payed i am satisfied. I have had ALL THREE DRE headphones the Tours, Solo's , Studios and for the price as same as the studios these have a much better sound profile unlike the studios that DRE are way to bass heavy an not true reproduction of sound. These have a wide range of mid's an highs that have made it enjoyable to listen to the diverse genres of music that i listen to daily. Ranging from HIP hop to YO-YO-MA simply incredible.

Went in to the local Apple Store twice to try these out, just to make sure I really wanted to invest in these, after the second try, i walked out the door with them. They make lossy music on an iPod or Mac sound incredible
These are by far the best sounding headphones I've encountered. Clean, rich, full sound, nothing overpower the other. No thumpa thumpa bass overpowering the other sounds. Some headphone are too bass heavy, and some like the Bose have a very fake sound, these sound clean. pure and realistic. They are incredibly comfortable, can wear these for hours and not notice they are on. Good at isolating outside sounds. They are compact, yet seem sturdy. What are you waiting for? Go out try them out, you will end up buying them.

The quality of these headphone are unmatched by anything else in its category in sound quality and construction. Put them on and you will disappear into the music and not even know you are wearing headphones.

As you've read already, these headphones are amazing. The case, for me is a bit lackluster. It's got this diamond quilted pattern and a silver nameplate on the front. It looks more like a Kate Spade bag than anything else. You also have to adjust the headphones back down to their original size in order to fit it back in. I'm using a Waterfield Large iPod Gear Pouch instead. I don't have to adjust the headphones back down and it holds all of my accessories in the side pockets. Perfect.

I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of little wing with these. I can now say I was standing right there in the studio... You may want to re-rip your stuff in full quality this time around. Good buy for the quality you get if you can appreciate the sound.

    Awesome Headphones!!! 1 HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

First of all I have to say that these headphones are simply spectacular!
My B&O earphones just broke & I wanted to give headphones a try, but their H6's won't be out until June/July in HK.
    SOUND-
In my opinion these have strong basses, mids & highs-for USD$299.95). Very natural clarity along with outstanding R/L stereo, if you like the signature crisp B&W sound you'll love these.
    BUILD-
Love the New Zealand sheep's skin leather, very comfy! But they feel like they could get dirty too easily...I got them in Ivory. Not a single component of plastic on them which makes it feel even more luxurious & sturdy. Removal ear cups & cable, beautiful travel pouch included!!!
    DISAPPOINTMENTS-
I got them in Ivory "white", & even right out of the box they have this dirty white appearance to them.. I was hoping for a brighter complexion. The texture of the leather feels dusty too, I got them at Apple so I'm deciding if I should swap them in for the black ones.

Overall a great product (apart from the "Ivory" colored leather, which is partly my problem since chose the color) I think I got everything I paid for in these headphone!

Everything I want to say about these gorgeous cans have been said by most other reviewers.

They sound incredible. Better than any headphones I've ever used and I've owned my share of studio headphones (AKG, Shure, Sennheiser, etc.)

Totally modular, replace the chords easily, or the headphone covers themselves.

Super comfortable. Ultra high quality super soft leather. It drowns out the sound around really nicely. I was actually surprised at how well it achieved this.

I was looking for headphones to replace the iphone in-ear buds. I go through a pair of those every few months and my ears are such that neither the buds nor the noise cancelling rubber tipped ones stay in my ear very well. I find them uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time and the sound quality was mediocre at best. I had been considering some other ear buds but couldn't find anything that stayed in my ears or gave me the sound quality i was looking for. I then turned to the foldable Sennheisers, but the remote/mic didn't fully support the iPhone 4 and the sound quality wasn't quite there.
I had done quite a bit of research on the P5's and they seemed like they might be a good alternative. Then I had the opportunity to try 'em out. Within a few minutes of use I knew I would be leaving the store with a pair.

With the high price tag I am still a bit wary about wearing them around wherever I go, but the more I use them the more I want them with me at all times.

Okay, so they are a little pricy but, you definitely get what you pay for. They sound great. The bass is just right and mid-range is not weak. Overall very good sound. They are extremely comfortable could easily be used for long listening. They provide just the right amount of noise isolation. If you want to spend 300 on headphones these are definitely it.

I tried so many headphones to find the right ones and these are from far the best. The built is great and the conception very smart. When it comes to the sound, it is crisp and clear and very close to the music you are listening to regardless of the type!

    I definitely recommend those!

I went to an Apple Store at San Francisco, and I tried every single headphone !
This one is the best !
If you want the best sound quality, this is your headphone !
But if you want to spend less money, i recommend Bose !
