    Total failure!

    • Written by from antalya

    Here is the list:
    1. No bass (almost at all)
    2. Remote doesn't work properly unless pointing to the device
    3. Even though it has Aux connection to the Airport Express for AirPlay, this future is not working ( annoying )
    4. Not better than the $50 side speakers in terms of the sound quality. Made my ears tired after 10 min.
    5. Love the design (that's where my two stars go to)

    It just didn't have "it"

I originally purchased another dock (same price) that ended up being a lemon after a week. I returned it & got the Zeppelin Mini as a replacement. I only use it at work and there are no lows (even with the sub port positioned at the corner of a cube) -- and others can hear it and comment on it being just loud enough to be annoying.
The other dock had a nice mix & nobody knew it existed ... plus it had bluetooth & all the cables necessary; you need to provide all the cables (even to update the firmware) with the Mini.
I gave it a 3 because it may be good louder, but it's just not worth the price tag.
I'll be ordering another of the first dock, ok the Audyssey, because it was just *that* much better.

Great sound from a small source.

I purchased the B&W Zeppelin mini for travel. I spend half the year in the Dominican Republic, so I needed something small to bring with me that would produce good sound. I am amazed at the quality od sound reproduction that is coming from this unit! One of my co-workers who is a die-hard Bose fan, came in and heard the music, and remarked that the B&W is better! Now I want the Zeppelin even more! Just can't justify the cost. The cost of the mini though is well within reason and worth it. The sales and service at the Apple store in Bayshore mall, Milwaukee is excellent also!

Beautiful design and good sound, but only okay with other aspects

    • Written by from Windermere

I recently bought a Zep Mini for use in my kitchen area. It was absolutely perfect for the space that I have, with the Zep Air being much too big. I love the look of it and the fact that the dock can rotate to show the iPhone/iPod's display in landscape view. The sound is also excellent, with the exception of the low end being only okay. This is just the nature of the beast when you have such a small unit though, and I realize this. I've had a few issues with the inner workings of the unit. I had always planned to use this with my iPhone 4 and when I did there was strange popping noise form the speakers when playing music. Almost like the sound of an electrical short. When I contacted B&W, they assessed that it might be the power supply brick, and shipped me a new one at no cost. However, before the new power brick arrived the sound randomly stopped after doing this for several weeks. I loved the unit after that until the new iPhone 4S came out and I upgraded. As of today, the Zep Mini will not play any music from the 4S and I have also had problems charging the phone on it. I am hoping this is just a firmware update that B&W needs to make, but after contacting them, there has been no word of an update. Note that if you do have the iPhone 4 or 4S, you need to request the docking plate for these phones. The unit comes with plates for all previous iPods/iPhones from the past several years but the newest. These are free, but need to be requested. I still love the unit, but B&W does need to pay some attention to it's software on this product. As of now I have no way to use the Zep Mini until B&W makes another firmware update, which seem to come very slowly.

    Perfect Balance

    • Written by from Austin

I have owned my Zeppelin Mini for about 1.5 years now and love it.

I wanted to purchase the Zeppelin, but I couldn't get my purchasing manager (aka wife) to approve it, so I went with the Mini.

I have been very impressed with the outstanding sound quality with this unit. Even though it is not as full sounding as the Zeppelin, it is well about most every other unit out there.

The size was also very good. I am continually amazed that so much sound comes out of such a compact unit. The sound also remains very true even at high volumes.

The looks are clean and simple, and as an added bonus, the dock rotates 90 degrees so you can view you phone in vertical or landscape.

The included remote is also very simple to use, but I wish there was a place to dock it on the unit.

Overall this unit strikes a great balance between great audio, reasonable size and price.

The Mini is a very beautiful piece of design and this can give a value added feature to any space you place it. The sound is clear & strong you have to trust companies like this when it comes to high quality audio. if you're a design lover looking for a stylish small speaker that make a statement and sounds incredible this is the right choice

    Absolutely Amazing

    • Written by from Albuquerque

I purchased the Mini last night after reading all the reviews.
The gentleman at the Apple store said if you don’t like it you have 14 days to return it. I thought I would give it a shot. It’s a keeper!
The sound is just unbelievable, clean and crisp. I’m extremely happy with the Mini.
Worked fine out of the box.
There was a question about using the Mini with a Iphone 4, no problems at all.

    Truely Amazing!

The sound from this little contraption is truly amazing! Full, rich, orchestral sound now fills my home. I am much more than pleased with the B & W Mini Zeppelin: I am thrilled.

    Excellent

    • Written by from San Diego

This is my fourth set of speakers for an iPod. Yes, it cost about $200 more than any of the others, but it is also far superior to them and worth every penny. The B & W Zeppelin Mini puts out great sound, is small enough to fit on an end table in my living room and not an embarrassingly ugly box.

The controls are simple. If you want a system where you fiddle with the sound mix, this isn't for you. I found that the sound it produces is better when you follow the manufacturer's recommendation to turn your equalizer on your iPod off.

great sound with low price hits everything extremely well and has great bass when set on a solid piece of furniture beats the bose by much better bass and the dock connector is quite useful because you can easily control your iphone or ipod great from the moment i took it out of the box to the moment i must turn it off when my moms yelling to trn it off at full volume fills my whole 3 story house and even reaches the basement great

    Good minus No battery

    • Written by from RICHFIELD

Mini, for sure is a cool product.
I like its design and the fact that it can do landscape, and sync ipod / iphone while connected to
    the dock.
But the biggest disappointment is the fact that it doesn't have any battery.
The point is if there is no battery then it is not much of a portable speaker.
Having said that, I think you can find other bookshelf speakers better than this in the same price range.
I think I will return my mini, but with a heavy heart.

    So Disappointed

    • Written by from WHEATON

I purchased a new iPod and the BWZeppelin for an ideal setup. The BW couldn't connect to my iPod or my iPhone. I upgraded iPod software and the BW Firmware. No luck. I went online for FAQ's. No help. I called customer service. No answer. This is sad because I read the reviews and many people like this item. I returned it to the Apple store and the tech thought the model had problems too. Alas. I gave it up. And I picked up the Bose Sound Dock II. It worked perfectly right out of the box. Did I compromise? Don't think so. We're delighted with the Bose. But the BWZep is a design work of art. But is it reliable? And where is their customer support? So I'm disappointed -- in BWilkins. A pity really.

    Got it for the cottage

I got the Zeppelin Mini for my home away from home.
Now I might keep it at main residence and bring my high end audio system at the cottage.
    It's that good...

    picky ears are pretty impressed

    • Written by from SAUSALITO

I've been trying to find the right solution to bring audio to the upper floor of open plan home but have been paralyzed by the ever increasing number of possibilities.
Thought I'd check out the Zeppelin Mini and Geneva Labs S but a recent trip to the Apple Store found they only stocked the Zeppelin Mini so it came home.
Downstairs we have Rotel components and B&W speakers so the Mini has a lot to stand up to.
Part of my job has me supervising audio mixes in studios with the best gear and my ears are selective.
I'm really impressed by the clean, audio with great seperation produced by such a small unit and the volume that it can put out.
My collection is truly eclectic and I've enjoyed listening to a wide variety of genres on this box.
While some here complain about the lack of bass, I believe that's based on the fact that most gear sold adds bass (and volume) to compensate for a lack of good quality sound. Don't like what you hear with the Mini, try adjusting your EQ.
The one negative is that my 5th Gen iPod isn't compatible but my iPhone and Nano are. Mostly though I'm using the unit to stream iTunes via Airport Express.
I love that the firmware is upgradable.
Best of all I've now got great audio on all levels of my home and the Mini is doing an impressive job keeping up with it's big brother B&W speakers downstairs.
The Mini has me listening more and I am thankful.

    NOT GOOD!

    • Written by from FRANKLIN LAKES

I had the Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin Mini from 3 days. They stink. The bass is terrible as long as the treble. Not to Boses level yet.

Much better than the 400$us Bose

    • Written by from Brookline

I was at an apple store and listened to all the offers except the 600$us B&W. This was by far the best, sounding much better than the bose at the same price. Listen to a well mixed and mastered piece with deep bass, piano and some brass and you will see the difference is huge. While there is good separation in the BW the Bose is just lacking and everything sounds muffled.

All units were driven by the same ipod and same music. You can spend 400 and get a much better system including an Amp and speakers but then again, they're not portable and they're second hand. This is a great little system that offers a nice sound at a decent price. If you can't see the sound difference between this unit and the bose, get the 300$us bose, it sounds the same as the 400 almost...

    Love it!

I was torn between B & W Zeppelin Mini and Bose Sounddock II.

I decided to buy this, mainly because of its' design.

I just got it today, and the design is much prettier and more chic in person, than in photos. Well worth the money.
Love, Love, Love the design- very aesthetic!

    Sound quality is amazing.
Very clear and crisp. Well worth the $.

I've read bad reviews about the remote controller, but it works fine in distance. No problems at all.

    Very pleased with this item.
I'd recommend this to people who look for design more than anything. Because, no other speaker can get better than this!
