Disney Pixar UP: The Game
NOT Snow Leopard Compatible
Written by JW from Birmingham
Oct 11, 2009
Despite finding this game to be difficult to navigate when playing it with my 6 year old in the store, I bought it assuming I could figure out the navigation issues with some time to play it without distraction at home.
I also purchased Snow Leopard and completed that upgrade before installing the game. I've spent the entire evening trying to get UP to work - installing, unistalling, restarting, repeat, google searching for troubleshooting ideas, etc. and all efforts failed, such that my daughter went to bed very unhappy that she didn't get to play and I've wasted a lot of time I needed to spend elsewhere. I just found these reviews and besides the bad reviews for navigation issues, I see the reviewer who contacted the game company, thq, only to be told the game isn't compatible with Snow Leopard unless the game is installed prior to Snow Leopard. Thanks Apple - your "genius" employees didn't seem so genius at time of purchase!12 of 13 people found this useful

Disney Pixar UP incompatible with Snow Leopard OS 10.6
Written by DM from Seattle

The folks at THQ told me today that the Disney Pixar UP game (despite recommending OS 10.5 or higher on the box) is not compatible with the new Snow Leopard unless you had the game installed with OS 10.5 before you upgraded to OS 10.6. Unfortunatly I was upgrading from OS 10.4 to Snow Leopard and then trying to install UP. You can't imagine how much of my personal time I wasted trying to load UP before I was brought up to speed by the folks at THQ. The folks at the local Apple Store certainly weren't aware of this incompatability when they sold me the products.

Can't Get It Working
Written by BS from Huntington Beach

Just loaded on Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We also had trouble getting past the vine-swing portion - it's ridiculously difficult for an entry level portion of the game.
So we temporarily gave up, but now every time we try to load the game it crashes. Can't even get it to load now!14 of 15 people found this useful

UP

This game is very challenging for a young child to navigate. We cannot get out of chapter one. The instructions to move the characters /actions are very vague and do not seem to work. It is difficult to determine how to select only one player.
Thinking of returning the game.27 of 34 people found this useful

A few problems...
Written by KS from Chino Hills

1. Doesn't seem to work with an external keyboard on my MacBook (plugged into usb or wireless). I was expecting to connect my MacBook to the TV and play with a wireless keyboard. I'd buy a game controller, but I don't know if it will work. I don't want my kids banging on my MacBook, if you know what I mean.
2. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to save my game. I keep on having to start from the beginning, and I can't skip over the intro, so I have to watch it every time I start to play. Basically, if I can't figure out how to save, this game is useless to me and I've wasted my money.
3. Generally, game play is fun, although there is one part where you have to swing on a vine and it took over a half hour to get past. If one player fell in the pit, the other would be placed back at the other side, so you'd both have to make it over consecutively. Unnecessarily difficult for such a mundane spot in the game. I think it must have been a programming bug - I doubt it was supposed to be that difficult.
