    Better than expected

I just received my palm guard in the mail. It took me less than five minutes to get it out of the packaging and onto my MBP. For those reviews that say it doesn't fit, they are incredibly picky....I think it fits amazing. Now I don't have to worry about accidentally scratching the palm area of my brand new computer. A bit on the pricy side for a sticker....but overall worth it in my books.

Luckily I found this video on you tube and it works like a charm. Got mine on perfectly
Search for "Moshi palmguard installation" on youtube. It will not let me post the link here.

My only gripe is the track pad sensitivity is reduced. For scrolling it is fine. If you use "tap to click" you have to tap harder.

Can't tell its there and feels like nothing is there too. Easy to install, I would recommend to install the palm portion first then line up the mouse part. I would recommend to friends & I would purchase again.

This is a great product. The fit is almost perfect, much like the moshi iVisor. Although it is not designed to remove, if you are careful, you can pull it off as you are applying it to make adjustments...just BE CAREFUL if you need to do this. I will confirm the track pad feels rougher with the protection on it, but I have not had any problems with sensitivity. I find the feel of the palm rest to be pleasant, it is a bit rougher, but more of a tactical feel. Color match is spot on. Obviously there is a difference between aluminum and vinyl, so I am not going to say you cannot notice it. It blends in well overall, however. If you are looking for a palm rest protector, you will not be disappointed here.

    Well done Moshi!

A great combination of form and function. The die-cut is perfectly aligned to the edges (for me at least) and the protection is IMHO clearly best of its kind, design and class. Also the feel is very natural and it is also very aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well.

Unlike what others have reported I haven't experienced any decrease in sensitivity in the trackpad with the film in place. Gestures are fine and I find the feel a lot smoother. Also keep in mind that if you only plan to use only the palm rest guard without the trackpad film the trackpad will be slightly sunken as the material does add some thickness to the palm rest area and so the outer edges of the trackpad will obviously feel lower. Something to keep in mind I guess.

Lastly maybe others might disagree but I like the little Moshi logo in lower right corner of the palm rest. It's just perfectly subtle for my tastes.

Although I have none myself ... if I had to point out negatives that others might find when considering this product they'd be as such:

    - More or less a one-shot install. You need to be patient and line it up carefully. I start with the bottom edge. Re-applying is out of the question from the looks of it.

    - As with all products of this type you need to make sure the area is clean and wiped down prior to install. The material is very robust and clearly isn't one that will allow any trapped air or dust bubbles to escape out to the edges over time. I reckon any bubbles would be permanent. Take your time.

    - Doesn't fit well when used in combination with a RadTech Screensavrs cloth and/or silicone keyboard cover cloth as combination is too thick for magnetic latch to secure properly. Doesn't bother me, but it might bug some of you.

    That's all I got. Ciao.

After seeing the rave reviews here, I expected a lot from this product.

The main palm rest is great...not exactly the best fit, but it still appears to be worth the price. My last laptop had a big spot worn in right there, so I welcome anything that will prevent that.

The part that goes on the trackpad - junk. Instead of feeling smooth like the trackpad, it's rough and gritty feeling...meaning I'm sure it'll get nasty looking with my finger dragging over it for 5-6 hours every day. On top of the gritty feel, it hinders the trackpad's sensitivity just a bit. Now when I tap to click, it rarely works on the first try. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but it looks horrid anyway, so I'll probably end up scrapping the trackpad piece.

That brings me to my only other complaint. The pieces aren't an exact fit, so you have try and center the pieces so that the gap is even on each side...otherwise your MacBook will have uneven gaps between touchpad and body....looking like a car that's been wrecked and the door doesn't line up evenly with the body.

Bottom line...it's an OK product and probably worth protecting the palm area from scratches. But five star reviews people? Really?

When I got got my mac book I was scared I was going to scratch the arm rest area so I ordered this product. To my surprise it worked like a charm, fit perfectly, and blends in with the actual color of the laptop. Its amazing and I recommend it to anyone !

I have to be honest - I ordered this to bump my order up to $80 to get free shipping, but now I have it on (as of 5 minutes ago!) I love it!
    - Words cannot express how seamlessly it blends with the rest of the laptop body, and the application is easier than I thought. It's thicker than usual stickers so it doesn't bubble. The colour actually does match the laptop's silver!!
    - I know from my previous laptops that it's an important area to protect.
    - Highly recommended.

It was scary installing this palm guard because once it sticks...it sticks! Yet it fits perfectly, the silver color matches precisely and it does a great job of protecting one of the most vulnerable areas of my MacBook Pro

I had the Moshi PalmGuard on my previous white MacBook for over a year and a half and I loved it. It kept the palm area clean and unscratched and was extremely easy to install. The material didn't wear in the entire time I used it. I was a bit skeptical about the PalmGuard for the new unibody MacBook because I figured it would be difficult to color-match the material to the aluminum. I decided to give it a shot since I liked the white one so much. So far its been great! It protects the palm area and track pad just like the older version that I had, and despite my skepticism is matches the color perfectly! I highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking to protect their MacBook!
