I have been looking for a case with battery pack for a while. I was a bit worry about performance of such a product after reading a lot of reviews on several competing products. The biggest worry for me is the possible effects on mobile phone reception. After all, if you can't get/make phone calls, what is the point of using such a product? Such concerns lead me to choose Tekkeon myPower since it is the only product that has no user complaints on reception.

After using Tekkeon myPower for a while, I need to say that I am very pleased with this product. Here is a summary of my own experience.

Pros
- It doesn't affect mobile phone reception a bit.
- myPower charges the internal battery and iPhone's battery at the same time.
- It is very easy to use. If you connect myPower to PC, it automatically charges and syncs. There is no button to push.
- The speed of syncing is very fast. I didn't notice any "slow down" in data transfer speed, comparing to the speed of using the Apple's USB cable.

Cons
- The style is a bit "conservative" but that is ok for me. I need the function, not the style of myPower.

I highly recommend myPower for any iPhone users.

I bought myPower for iPhone MP1200 by Tekkeon right after I got my iPhone in early January. I was a little disappointed at first as to how fast the iPhone's battery ran down, but equally surprised and pleased to find the myPower for iPhone by Tekkeon. It allows me to charge both the myPower and the iPhone simultaneously or I can charge them separately. I can use just the battery of the myPower to power the iPhone and save the battery of the iPhone. This will give a longer life to my iPhone and if I happen to use my iPhone a lot I have plenty of battery to get me through for two days. I like that I am not tied to the charger like I was prior to buying the myPower. The protection of the case of myPower is substantial. I now see that Apple carries a similar model of myPower for iPhone, the MP1250 and would like to share my positive experience with other iPhone owners. I think you would be very pleased with this power solution.

This battery gives you plenty hours of extra usage. It fits perfectly with the iphone. You can also stand it up on it's side when you want to watch videos. It's easy to pull the phone out of the case. You can sync with your computer.Overall great product and I think it's overlooked compared to the other batteries.

Just what I needed

Like many other iPhone users, I always run out of juice before the day is even over. This case has been a great solution to that problem. I can now talk longer and use my phone in emergencies.

I've used it for about 2 weeks now and I love it. I usually recharge every 2 days. What's awesome is that you can charge the phone and the case battery, while syncing with your computer. Definitely convenient and efficient for someone always on the go.

Design wise it's pretty sleek, but most importantly, it looks professional. You see a lot of cheap looking leather cases out there and this case is out of competitors' league. The leather feels nice in your hand and it's not too bulky. The case is sturdy and holds the iphone securely. Within 2 weeks, I've already dropped my phone on pavement twice with no consequences. The iphone is very protected from falls in this case. As for screen protection, the case comes packaged with a separate screen protector which is always a bonus.

Battery life is no longer a problem with this case and I cannot recommend this enough to people who are always on the go or in need of a charge midday.

It is a little too thick to fit in the pockets of my tight jeans but I'm willing to sacrifice such conveniences for more battery life. I always carry a purse anyways.

Perfect! Except for one little thing...

Let me start off by saying that I have become a huge fan of tekkeon products over the past 6 months or so, since I started using their external MyPowerAll battery packs to power my filmmaking equipment (cameras, field monitors, etc.)

This case/pack falls right in line with the quality you would expect from Tekkeon - excellent build quality, great performance for the size and weight of the unit, all at a VERY affordable price. It isn't too bulky, and it actually feels great in your hand (as opposed to other case-based battery packs.)

After using this unit with my iPhone 3G and 3Gs for a while, I'm very very impressed...but there's only one tiny little issue. The top strap just to the left of the earpiece covers the 3rd light sensor at the top of the screen, effectively causing the screen to dim because the phone thinks it's in the dark. Of course the easy workaround to this is just to turn "auto brightness" off in your phone's settings when using this pack, which takes just a few seconds and isn't really a bother. If there was some way that this little issue could be fixed, I would give this pack a 5 out of 5.

Overall, a fantastic product at a great price. I love it!

After reading all the reviews on both the Morphie and the Tekkeon. I went with the Tekkeon even after receiving the Morphie for a birthday present. Before the Tekkeon I would have to charge up my 3g Iphone at least 2-4 times a day. Now I only charge it once when I go to sleep. I holds a charge all day long. Even after heavy webbing. A must have for a freelancer on the go.

After receiving the myPower unit, I charged it up and waited until my iPhone had all but drained the life out of it's internal battery. At this point, I slipped the iPhone into the myPower sleeve and was pleased to see that I now had almost a full charge on my iPhone. While the internal battery in my iPhone was completely drained, I was able to continue using my iPhone thanks to the battery in the myPower sleeve. The myPower sleeve doesn't actually recharge the iPhone battery with its own battery (though it will charge the iPhone battery if plugged into your computer or AC adapter via the USB cable). The extra life that the myPower sleeve provides is well worth the investment.

excellent product, does as advertised. one reviewer called design conservative.... that is probably a compliment, it is not as sleek as the competition, however, the competing products interfere with reception and have quality control issues. reception is not affected, but aesthetics could be improved - highly recommend this product

The battery life is great...
It adds some bulk, and almost doubles the thickness, but the weight maybe adds 50%... so not great for if you wear tight pants! Not that bad though. I kind of like the extra heft, so I really know it's there!

It slightly obscures the touchscreen around the edges, might be a bit of a problem for people with large hands. It doesn't cover any of it, it's just close enough to keep your finger from getting good direct contact.

The top rear corners are not covered by the case. I just had my first drop this morning, and lo and behold it drops on the top corner leaving a sidewalk ding on the iPhone. Other than that, it seems to protect the rest of the phone very well.

The screen protector goes on poorly, and left some gummy residue on it. I thoroughly dusted the screen, and put the cover on directly after taking off the skin that comes with the iPhone. It is very bubbly looking, so I ordered one of the crystal sets.

The mics are covered by the case, but it still sounds fine.

The snap comes off pretty easily when you put the phone in, or take it out of your pocket, depending on how tight your pants are, and which way you put it in. It is still snug enough to not slide out though.

Overall I think I'm going to get a smaller case with more overall protection, and save this for long trips, weekend jaunts, and the winter when I have more pocket space!

I don't do a whole lot of reviews. Just brought this case and had to let everyone know my opinion of it. Everyone who has an iPhone 3G or S knows how much power it eats up in a day. The Tekkeon case has been an excellent product for me so far. I run a few tests today. Charged the Tekkeon case last night, and my iPhone 3G seperately. Placed the phone in the case at around 10:40am. I did some heavy gaming, internet, emailing, insta messaging, etc through out the day. Now I'm running on iPhone power at 7:40pm, which should last me until tomorrow evening depending on my use =) The case has been a life saver for me. It does ad a little bulk to the phone but it's down to a bare minimum. I highly recommend getting this battery case for any one who owns an iPhone 3G or S.

Got this from Apple three days ago for my 32G 3GS with 3.01 update. First thing I noticed was that even with after fully charging case and phone when phone was in case the internal Iphone battery would trickle down slowly even while it was still running on case external battery. Called Tekkeon and they said it was an Iphone issue with the phone thinking it was on external power and "discharging" intermittently to begin a charge cycle. Today, just like another reviewer, I picked up the phone in the case and it was easily 140 degrees. Immediately took the phone out and the battery and contact remained superhot for the next two hours. Called Apple immediately to return. Don't want to know if it was defective battery or incompatibility - too dangerous.

I hv been using this heavily over the past few days. Guys, this thing works as advertised. A must have for any heavy iphone user. Before this I would lose charge by 5pm with push email, using various apps, browsing etc. Now it gives me an entire day. Looks sleeker and better than my friend's mophie too and is much easier to use and without the mophie signal headaches. Always have full signal.

Agreement by me that this case/extra battery is one of the best you can buy for the iphone 3GS. Also purchased the Speck case which is a better protector, although once used to the extra power its tough to switch back to the Speck

It seems many similar products such as this have a lot of problems. The biggest being that cell reception goes down, you can't charge both the case and iphone at once, and you can't sync the iphone while its in the case. Tekkeon's case has none of these problems. You can sync, you can charge both devices at once (on your computer or in the wall), and the cell reception is perfect.

The battery lifetime indeed does last at least 2x as long as the iphone internal battery. I did a few days of testing with WiFi On, Push On, Brightness at 100%, Blue Tooth On...and gamed, browsed the net with 3G, and listened to music for about 8 hours until the phone finally died. I was impressed.

My only two problems: One being the top part of the case...it's wide open...you drop this on it head the phone will get dented, etc. Second, a little hard to use outside keys in portrait mode (keys on the edge) and its hard to move icons from screen to screen. Good thing you can easily take the phone out of the case though.

Oh..and the cable is not like a ipod/iphone cable...its more like a camera cable with the small usb end. This is kinda nice though, cuz people usually have camera cables but not ipod cables. :)

One time I got that error message while charging "charging is not supported on this device" i just restarted the iphone and it was good to go again.

This is a great product! It works as advertised and I don't bring my iphone without it. I have only one small issue and I can't hardly hold it against Tekkeon. I took it out on the boat during 98 degree (plus) F heat in Texas and it made my iPhone beep on and off until I unplugged the unit. Obviously ambient temperatures reached the units maximum capabilities. FYI for Tekkeon, the beeping was the sound of the iPhone makes when you first plug the unit under normal operating conditions, like an acknowledgment that the phone was charging. Under higher temperatures, the iPhone constantly made this acknowledgment sound at 1 time per two seconds until disconnected. Once the iPhone and the battery pack cooled some, it operates normally. I will now only use the myPower as a battery backup in high temperatures, which is anytime the air conditioning is not doing enough to keep you cool...

Battery Pack bad

After having this for a few days the battery pack started to heat up to a point where I could not keep it connected to my iphone, even when the iphone was removed the metal contacts were so hot that I had to set it aside away from anything so that it would not catch anything on fire, might be a defective battery. Not sure if I would buy this product again cause of this danger

When I got my 3GS, I didn't see any need for an external battery pack. When I started using Public Radio player to listen to news and talk shows and started using Google Map to find restaurants & etc. on my business trips, the need for an external battery pack became obvious. I chose Tekkeon myPower because it seems to have better reviews, especially have less interference. After I got my myPower, I have been using every single day. I have no problem with it at all. It is a great product. Now, I am even more addicted to my iPhone 3GS since I don't worry about 3GS running out of juice.

My husband has been using Golflogix GPS with his iPhone 3GS for a few months. He feels
that it is a great application. Unfortunately his iPhone battery was not quite enough for him to go
through an entire golf game without running out of power. I researched options for him and
ended up purchasing the Tekkeon iPhone battery case to extend his iPhone’s battery on the
course and elsewhere. He loved it. He has found that it is a great battery for everyday use
and it has solved his problem with the Golflogix GPS. He doesn't have to worry about running
out of battery any more playing golf and he can talk as much as he wants as well. He likes
that he can conveniently place it in his pocket or leave it in the golf cart. The leather case
does a great job of protecting his iPhone very well while driving up and down the golf course.

He loves the Tekkeon battery case for everyday use and playing golf. I would say that we
both would highly recommend this to iPhone users.
