Reviews for Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro

This was always in the way. The typing felt weird and I was not used to it so it made me make a lot of typos. Also, every time I closed my lid and then opened it it would stick to the screen and I would always have to readjust it. Not worth it.

Its horrible, when i got it was to thick but clear. After 2 days it gets full of dust fingerprints that turned out to be permanent when i washed it. Don't get it dont waste your money.

you decide to wash it. The keyboard protector was good for two says or so, but quickly starts to pick up dust and finger markings which show quite clearly because of the clear color. The protector also leaves keyboard impressions when you close your screen and when you try to wash it as directed on the package (light detergent and a wet cloth), there ends up being splotches on the product which also affects the backlighting of your keyboard. If you buy this product, you will probably have to replace it every week as cleaning is not an option. Definitely not worth the price and the product does not last.

I bought this product for my MacBook Air 13”. It feels clumsy and increasing typing errors. I found there’s gape between Keyguard and keys. This could be the reason why Keyguard doesn’t work well. Also, this product is not so thin as they said. It’s 0.2mm not 0.1mm.

I have the Moshi iVisor on my Air and this clearguard will NOT let the MacBook Air close while on. Sadly it's going back.

I read the reviews before I purchased it. I noticed it was split about 50/50 good/bad. I decided I'd go ahead and try for myself because though, yes, it's expensive --if I liked it it would be more than worth it.

Now that I have it on my keyboard, I absolutely think that anyone who said they liked it works for the company or "bird peck" types. If you know how to type and are capable and successfully type more than 15 words/minute there factually is no way you can like this produce.

I'm open to the idea that maybe there are "bad batches" or something, but the product I received in the mail is nearly impossible to type with. Every other key you press you find yourself dragging the previous letter with you.

If by any chance the manufacturer or someone with a say in the development of this product cares enough to read these reviews, please take this following, seemingly simple solution to the problem that all people capable of typing are inevitably going to encounter: Tinker with the idea of putting some sort of mild adhesive in between every few keys! The Apple keyboard layout is ideal for putting a small strip of adhesive gel (perhaps a thin layer of the sticky, rubbery feeling sticky stuff they stick paper advertisements to DVD's with). A thin layer of that is plenty sticky enough to resolve our issue --but is designed to not leave behind a residue.

I think the idea of this product is great, and if you could redesign it to stay on while typing fast it would be perfect. But if you expect, or have an ideal that someone should choose between protecting their keyboard and being productive you're sadly mistaken. 1. That doesn't have to be a choice, I feel this issue could easily be resolved. 2. People WON'T make that choice in your favor!

but it turns out making the keys harder.
i have to type *MUCH* harder, which causes my fingers tired and pain.
this product ruins the comfort of macbook. and it brings me more typos, too.
good for leisure user maybe...
but definitely not suitable for developer which have to do coding on your mac.

Macbook Pro 15" ( late 09)
This is a great idea, hence why i bought it...But first off ill present a few problems I have witnessed and refuse to use any longer...

1. When computer is getting hot, the plastic almost increases the amount sweat coming from your hands.

2. Makes typing response go down slightly ( meaning i would take it off if i had to right a review such as this one)

3. It leaves a great amount of grease from the protector on your screen after you close your laptop! Its not permanent- but still very annoying...

All in all, Recommended...BUT I barely use it, due to point #3...Me being into graphics i need my screen tip-top all the time. Coming from someone who would cry to see my computer get damaged...

This clearguard cover will not work on your mac if you have the Macbook Pro with silver keys, despite your computer only being about 1-1.5 years old Apple currently does not carry a cover that will work for your macbook pro. Sadly. We are left at risk of spills. Look for a 3rd party solution.

APPLE carry a clear cover for our macbooks (non uni-body) with the silver keys.

I bought this to protect my computer against spills and dust etc.. The problem with it is that it makes typing so much more uncomfortable I dont know if it is worth it. It gets dirty easy and I have seen product since I bought this one for a fraction of the price. If I had to do this all over again I would not buy this and I would definetly not tell anyone to invest in this product.
