Reviews for Moshi ClearGuard Keyboard Protector for Aluminum MacBook and MacBook Pro

I ordered this along with my purchase for the 13" Macbook Pro Late 2011. It arrived to the apple store, picked it up and I am typing with it on my macbook as I rate this product. I love it! :)

i got my macbook a few months ago and was pretty finicky about making sure that it stayed pristine from the beginning.

this cover is the perfect fit for my 15" Pro and stays on perfectly. i have even washed it several times--with just warm water and gentle soap--and it look as good as new every time.

there are only two very picky negatives to this product: 1) the very top row, above the function keys, is about a millimeter bigger than the keys, however, this is not a problem, seeing as everything still fits and 2) any residue on the cover finds it way onto my screen, still i believe it is better than having the keys themselves touching the screen.

overall, i really appreciate keeping my keyboard very neat and clean!

I just bought my 13" macbook pro two days ago and i want to make sure i have everything on it protected. I bought the key board cover being a little skeptical. It fits great but it does feel weird when you're typing. I feel like there is a teeny tiny space between the cover and the keyboard keys. But the cover itself is VERY thin. If you're looking to protect your mac, I would get it, if you don't mind trying to get use to the feeling of the keys and stuff.

I type super fast so when i slapped this skin on and went as fast as possible, didn't have any errors or issues.. by far best keyboard cover out there... and reusable, its worth the nickel when your protecting your couple thousand dollar investment..

iSkins don't fit quite as well, but they stay clearer than moshi. If you have a backlit keyboard, get a skin that has black keys with clear letters to let the backlighting through. If you don't have backlighting, get the iSkin that has black keys with white letters. Black keys look much better than the clear skins.

First off, for those of you worried about this keyboard protector leaving some kind of imprint on the display (which is what I was most worried about) -- don't be worried! It's made out of a minimally sticky material that does not really attract dust or dirt, which therefore, keeps the dust and dirt from your display! It's a great product!

At first, it didn't seem to fit exactly right, but it took a day or two for it to settle in, I guess, because it now fits perfectly, doesn't slip off when I move the laptop around and works great! It doesn't stick to my fingers, but it does come up off the keyboard a tiny bit when I hit the delete button or the right arrow key, but I think that is because I tend to press the key and move my finger a little bit, pulling the cover up with my finger.

The texture of the cover is great! It is not sticky at all, just feels like textured plastic. It's a hard feeling to explain, but it is really nice.

Overall, I would rate this a perfect 5 stars! It does exactly what it's supposed to and, for me, actually makes me enjoy typing even more! For one, I know my keyboard is safe from spills or dirt of any kind AND I just like the softer feeling of the keys! Second, my keys will look good as new forever!

For the record, I have the Retina MacBook Pro and this cover still works great with that. Moshi did a wonderful job with this product! I haven't noticed any "overheating" issues, but will update my review if I do!

Thin, fits like a glove, makes the keys type considerably quieter... all around a great product.

Used to protect my new 2012 MBA, looks nice when new, however, the often-used keys exhibited cloudiness when looked against light, which cannot be restored by cleaning with mild detergent. Like what has been mentioned, slows down typing speed as fingers need to aim at the centre of the covered keys for typing ease. Pressing off-centre causes some resistance due to the vertical skin molding, requiring significantly more effort to press down fully.

This is my second keyboard protector, my first one was useless because it's too thick, very hard to use. I can say I'm happy with this product because I can type easily as if I don't use the protector (yes, it needs adjustment at the first time, give it around one week to get used of it) and it fits the keyboard perfectly (that's the best I think). One question is: can I just let it stay at my keyboard when I close the laptop? Because I heard a lot of advices not to do so, it will give spot to the screen. Pls share your experience. Thanks!
