Great sound. Charges phone while you listen

Love it. Only drawback I can see is that you need to remove your phone from the case (if you use a case that is).

I own two Bose docks for the iPod. One is in the garage, where I putter for long hours, and the other is beside my MacBook Pro in the office. I hardly know what to think of people who criticize the sound these small units produce. Full range, no distortion, room-filling - just great sound! I have to be careful in the garage not to turn the unit up so loud that it disturbs the neighbors, and the fact that it sound so good at high volume - well, it speaks volumes. It isn't the cheapest way to play music, but if you like really good sound, this is as good as it gets.

This is the most amazing speaker, at least that's what my ears are telling me. The sound is so true to life that sometimes I get freaked out thinking someone else is with me. Simply put, in my words "The Bose Knose"

i got the bose sounddock II for my birthday a while ago and its fantastic! compatible with all iPods that ive tried on it, ive had a touch 1st gen, 2nd, and now 4th on it and they have all charged unlike my last speaker system which upon connecting my iPod displayed the message "This device is not compatible to charge your iPod". as far as sound goes, ive never owned better. for the price it supplies a very good sound even at high volumes or any EQs that i choose on my itouch. sure, the whole price issue "if it was $199" but if u look around all the systems on this cite are a tad overpriced, so for the cheapest bose sounddock advertised on apple, it packs a nice punch. the only issue i am now facing which caused me to write this review is that i just purchased a very nice, very sleek Otterbox case for my itouch. it just came out for the 4th gen and i was very excited to get it. i even pre-ordered it. when it came i went to charge it and the ipod with the case on it does not fit in the holster, so if you are one to buy bulky cases for an iphone or itouch, this one isn't for you.

I bought this unit for the kitchen, for music when we're entertaining or cooking. It was a breeze to set up - just plugged in my iPod Nano and enjoyed. The sound is full with decent bass and clean highs. The remote "wakes up" the iPod when we're ready for music. The power brick is a bit of a pain due to its size, but the dock itself does not take up much counter space. Tone settings for bass and treble are done using the iPod's EQ. Overall, very pleased with our purchase!

I just purchased the Bose SoudDockll today and it absolutely lives up to the Bose reputation. It plays the music applications I have on my iphone with amazing sound quality and clarity. And yes, it does play Pandora as long as you want to listen to it...I've been listening to it all day...may I suggest Otis Redding :-) If you are hesitating purchasing...don't. You will not be sorry, promise.

As always with BOSE, you get what you pay for. It's not so much the components but rather the way that they interact together that makes these speakers great. Similar to an apple computer, the parts "Just Work" together. I would suggest trying them out in the store before purchasing to be sure that these are the right speakers for you.

You can't hear the difference by reading online reviews so don't put your faith into uninformed, blatantly brand based and opinionated "reviews". As with any purchase that will effect the quality of your day-to-day life you should experience the product in person. Try these speakers out for yourself in the store. Decide from there if having superior quality is worth the $300 price tag or if you are fine with speakers that are significantly less expensive and still of decent quality.

It's apparent that a few of these reviews have been written by advertising bodies who are in direct competition with BOSE. Disregard the "Word of mouth" that you find online as a good portion of it is written by manufacturers. Apple would not charge $300 for speakers with horrible quality let alone use valuable presentation space in apple stores to an inferior product. Nobody would buy them.

Never doubted this would produce spectacular sound and I was not disappointed. Excellent power and clarity. I have the Bose SoundDock Portable and it has been a joy to use plus the sound and battery life is amazing. Best speaker of its kind available.

I just purchased the Sound Dock II and with Bose, I'm never disappointed. I have their LifeStyle 48 system, and for an iPhone/iPod speaker, the sound is full and faithful. It's a little light, and if you want the portability, you'll have to spring for an extra $100 to get a battery operated one. The power cord is very long (almost too long), and the Silver color is a nice shade for almost anywhere. The remote is nice too. I just wish they would allow you to delve deeper into a playlist as you have to have one in order for it to play endlessly. What's also nice is the fact that almost any iPod, except the shuffle, will be accepted in the front. I downloaded a free app which displays a clock in almost any configuration and color which makes the unit handy for timekeeping as well.
