I thought it sounded "OK" but it fell apart within a week. End popped off and then the soldering on the back of the xlr connector broke. _ab

I bought the Icicle with Blue Microphones' Spark. It works really well: I plug in an XLR cable, and I plug in the USB output cable, and my iMac recognizes it, and everything works well! I'm really glad I bought it!

    Noisy

This product feels cheap in the hand, and is incredibly noisy. The gain knob works well enough, but when using either a microphone or a DI box connected to a guitar, the noise/gain ratio is absolutely terrible. In order to reduce the noise to acceptable levels, the volume in applications is far too low. I have been very disappointed with this purchase. Not going to buy another interface without hands on testing beforehand, because this has been a nightmare.

I've been frustrated with this thing a hundred times. Controlling the pre-amp volume is difficult because their is no level on it. Its a cheap piece of plastic, very breakable. I unplugged a xlr cable from it and the entire inside ripped out, I didn't even pull hard. Creating an aggregate device is impossible because a loud ringing sound is present every time it gets enabled. My advice go buy the one shure put out not to long ago. Looks a little more stable then this piece.

I bought a Blue Blue Bird Mic and this thing to use on my Mac. I was surprised at how well it worked after I adjusted the output level on the device. It's as lightweight as an empty cigar tube (almost like there's nothing inside of it) and feels a little cheezy, and the USB connection seems a little loose, but it works great. Simple plug and play. The sound quality is great.
