    Totally awesome game controller!

    Written by MA from CUMMING

Initially, I purchased this game from the Apple store in Alpharetta, GA, along with Tombraider: Anniversary, because I figured I needed a joystick for my Mac. I had no clue that this joystick pre-configures with Tombraider: Anniversary Edition, and boy did this joystick make the game far more enjoyable! Every single control in Tombraider was precisely and perfectly configured, and I absolutely love this joystick! I wish more games would pre-configure with this joystick on the Mac. The feel, the mobility, precision and plug-in play of this joystick is simply impeccable! Also, you just can't beat the price. This is the only joystick for me, and I even love the color. I'm 9th in the world at Pac the Man X on the Macintosh platform on the McSebi website TOP 100. I know about good joysticks, and you can't go wrong with this one, and if it wears out, simply buy another one. Cheers!

Not a bad controller, have had one for several years. The D-Pad is really rough on your hands after a few hours of play however.

    Limited to No Support (COD4)

Written by LR from Tower Lakes

This controller works fine with emulators and all that, but when I try and play it with Call of Duty 4, nothing happens. Its dead. There is no support on the logitech website for macs and a lot of third-party software that claims to emulate the keystrokes of a keyboard does not work for it either. Tried USB Overdrive and others... no luck. If anyone has any solutions PLEASE respond. I've never been one to use the keyboard/mouse for FPS.

Doesn't work with Call of Duty 4

    Written by JH from Evanston

    Nov 7, 2008

I just went out and bought COD 4 and a Logitech Dual Action gamepad. It's an absolutely useless controller as it doesn't work with the game I bought it for. There's got to be a support solution from Logitech or from COD 4. This game doesn't seem to be intended for play on a keyboard and mouse, so it's deceptive for Apple to advertise the game and then show the Logitech Dual Action as a suggested addition to your game purchase.

If a solution is not found soon, I will return the game and controller. There's just no way I'd ever play this game without a gamepad.

Call of Duty 4 will not play with this controller.

    Written by DW from Henryetta

I also bought this controller to play COD4 on my MBP. I assumed since it was sold at my local store and endorsed by apple, that it would work with any apple game. NOT SO, computer recognizes it but COD4 does not even see it. For me, the game is useless with out a controller, I will be returning them both until a resolve is developed...Waste of time and money.

    Seemingly Good Controller, Poor Advertising

    Written by AM from Brooklyn

    Dec 3, 2008

Like the other reviewers, I bought this controller because it was mentioned as something I would like to go with my COD 4 purchase. While I'm sure the controller will be wonderful with other games, I'm disappointed that Apple would pair these two items if they're not compatible with one another. Hopefully, there's a program like Xapper for PCs that will allow me to configure the controller. If not, I'll have to wait to purchase a different game to see if this was worthwhile.

    DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT

Written by JS from New York

    Dec 6, 2008

Like many other reviewers. I bought this as a gift along with Call of Duty 4 for the Mac. I wish I saw the other reviews prior to my purchase. Also I was told this product does not come with a CD as mentioned in the box. When Logitech support was called about the missing CD, they stated does not come with one and it does not work with any CoD games, which is why I purchased this controller.

No good, only works with 1 game I have!

    Written by TJ from Venice

    Dec 27, 2008

Okay I bought this product a few months ago and it stinks! It works fine with Lord of the Rings, Return of the King for Mac but that's all. It doesn't wok with Halo, It sorta works with Halo Demo but it's like using a keyboard, when u push the round-stick forward it goes forward... there's no such thing as walking left & right at the same time it's either: forward, backwards, left or right! and it's almost impossible to aim using the controller.
I've tried programs for controllers & everything to get it to work with more games or just work correctly and it just doesn't work. On Halo when u spawn you just spin in circles because it's too sensitive and I tried adjusting the sensitivity and that didn't work either.
P.S. Actually I have 2 of these controllers and both of them do the same thing so It's not defective.

    Call of Duty does work!

    Written by LF from Austin

    Jan 27, 2009

Unfortunately, the developers for Call of Duty did not enable gamepad support natively into their PC version of the game. What you can do is use the Logitech Gaming Software to set up keyboard executions for the gamepad buttons, and mouse movement for the right thumbstick, and thus be able to circumvent the limitations built into the game.

Works on COD -- sort of :-(

    Written by JP from Butler

    Mar 16, 2009

I picked up this gamepad to try out on Call of Duty 2 and 4. Using 3rd party software I was able to get most of the functionality of the pad to work, but it was unusable for a first person shooter. There is no movement control for turning as on a mouse, and controlling targeting was impossible with the joysticks. If you cannot turn the player with the controller, your only motion is forward, back, and side to side, but you are always facing one way. Programming the joystick for turning did not work.

What we really need is a pistol grip pointer with turning awareness (internal gyroscope our mouselike ball with sensors?), and 8 buttons. Pointing at the screen would be a natural way to play.

    works great

This is a great deal for a gamepad. I've had mine for 6 months without any problems.
Works great with need for speed, lotr, and many other games.
NO it does not work with call of duty 4, but why would you want a gamepad to play cod4. Maybe on an xbox it works great, but a mouse gives a lot better control and alot more accuarcy on a pc/mac
    buy it!

    Good Buy

Using MBP 2.66GHz, 4GB memory, nvidia GeForce 9600M GT...

I recently purchased this controller and out of the box I am impressed. It is more of a solid black color, rather than the dark blue that is displayed on the website. The feel for it is nice. The sides have a rubber grip, which is good for handling. All the buttons work well and the joysticks snap back to center well without any over correction.

I have only used this controller with MADDEN 08 and NFS CARBON. For both games, this controller worked RIGHT out of the box. The controls were already set up, almost identical to a playstation's basic controls. If you wish to configure the button commands, it is simple. Under controller options in BOTH games it was VERY easy to configure the buttons to my preference.

Soon, I will take on the challenge of making it work for COD 4. We'll see.

All in all, I am pleased with this controller. For a LOW price, it works well. It feels good in your hands, buttons work fine, joysticks work well. The solid black color is nice too.

I recommend this controller to anyone with these games, as it helps TREMENDOUSLY.

    Good buy!

    Works with COD4

Written by NG from SAN FRANCISCO

    Aug 11, 2009

Okay, after spending a good hour setting up the keys, commands, I was happy with everything until I actually started playing the game.

I Love COD4 and i have played on Xbox 360 and it rocks, but when it comes down to playing it with Logitech Dual Action Gamepad, It's painful. Why?

The Right Analog!!! You can actually set it up to look around, down, up, left right (With Gamepad Companion)....but the sensitivity is way off. I spend hours trying to get it to be as smooth as possible but no luck. It can either be smooth with a very small turning radius or move very fast with a wider turning radius. This is a shooting game, meaning you aim, you shoot, and when you aim, you don't want your aim to be bouncing all over the screen.

I am very disappointed with the design. Either the Game developers didn't think of it or Logitech.

Waste of money and 3 hours of my life. Buy a nice mouse and play it the old school way.

If anyone finds a way to make the right analog stick to work smoothly with a wide turning radius similar to a Xbox 360 controller, let me know.
