I was planning to buy a Bose speaker for a long time and this one fits right in to my budget and apt for listening to music. If you are having a party and you can satisfy everyone by playing their own songs in their iPod or iPhone. On top of it you connect your TV or any other device through aux

iPod Touch g4 is compatible with Bose Sound Dock Series II

    • Written by from Walnut Creek

iPod Touch g4 is compatible with Bose Sound Dock Series II.

I just purchased an iPod Touch g4 and Bose Sound Dock Series II. At first, my iPod Touch g4 didn't charge or even play on my Sound Dock Series II (though it did play music from my iPod Nano g3).

I called Bose tech support. The tech rep told me that the two components are compatible. After a couple of troubleshooting steps, he told me to remove the dish shaped plastic adapter that comes installed and surrounds the male connector below the speakers on the front of the Sound Dock (the plastic adapter was easy to pop out with a butter knife).

Once the adapter was removed, I reinstalled my iPod Touch g4. Without the adapter, the iPod Touch g4 set onto the male connector much better. As soon as it was installed, a chirp sound came out of the Sound Dock speakers, which the tech rep said indicated that the iPod Touch g4 started charging. I hit play on the iPod and the music came pouring out from the Sound Dock speakers. It works and sounds great!

Though my iPod Touch g4 is currently connected to the Sound Dock without an adapter, the Bose tech support person told me that he will be sending a new adapter to accomodate the iPod Touch g4 for no charge. Excellent service and support Bose!!!!

    Clarity

    • Written by

My wife bought me this for Father's Day. It has excellent clarity. Like most Bose products, don't expect thundering base, but the low end is well represented and everything is extremely clear. The dock is a bit touchy, but no complaints otherwise.

    Great Speakers, One Problem.

    • Written by from WEST GARDEN GROVE

With the adition of an Audio In port, this makes the speakers a nice addition to my room. The only problem is that over time the dock gets less sturdy and the smallest touch, can stop you're iPod from playing music and charging. This is a pain, but the speakers themselves offer incredible sound.

    Its no lady gaga

Bose meets its expectations, great sound (JBL radial sounds better but i went for the brand). My only problem is that it looks a little boring (A brick that plays music) so buy it if u r a person of simple taste but high value.

    Boon and bane

    • Written by from Makati

Just bought it about a week ago. At Bose internet site, this product was marketed as perfect for room spaces (as compared to the SoundDock 10 model). Suprisingly, the sound can be loud enough for a party at home...and tremble, bass, clarity are excellent. Bose will not let you down once again. For Nano 5th gen, it is advisable to utilize the ipod insert to protect the ipod from movement that may cause damage to the connector pin, The glitch however with the ipod insert is that play/pause button is partially covered making it difficult to navigate. In this case, better use the remote, which by the way has 'playlist next song' and volume functionality only. In terms of price, in the Philippines, it cost much though for $380!

    Better than expected!! It's Superb

    • Written by from Fanar

I knew it's a good product however after buying it I was surprised by its great quality sound!
This product exceeds all expectations in terms of sound clarity and quality however the design and the material (shiny plastic shell) doesn't look good specially comparing to B&W speakers. What I appreciate is that even if you play it on very low volume it remains clear and keeps the same quality, that's hard to find in most of speakers!

    Sounds awesome!!!

    • Written by from Lafayette

Expensive and heavy, but sounds awesome...the original sounddock doesn't have subwoofer or folded horn; the sounddock II is essentially same as Bose radio, which u can't buy in the storE.

If it was cheaper, I would give it 5 stars. Also, u cannot lower base...thankfully it sounds crispy.

Two Years and Still Loving It

    • Written by from Chester

Our experience with our Bose Sound Dock has been very good. We have not experienced the problems described in a few of the reviews written here. We are two years into ownership and are as satisfied with our sound dock as we could be. Actually quite amazed at how long the battery will still play after a charge and always appreciate how it leaves our ipods and iphones charged when we are done with the sound dock. Quality of sound is quite amazing for such a small box. Get one soon.

Fantastic Sound, Remote lacks full functionality, but great product

    • Written by from Toronto

    Pros:
I found the sound quality to be warm and clear.
    Ample power and bass.
    Clean design.

    Cons:
The only desire I would have is for an USB connection, and more importantly, a fully functioning remote control compatible with ipod touch. A remote to go through not only playlists (which it does) but all of the songs, albums, etc. There must be a way to do this.

    RE: ipod touch 2G

    • Written by from FORT SPRING

please do not confuse the series II with the original bose ipod dock when writing your review. thank you-- the mgmt.

bose is ridiculously expensive, but i will say there is little comparison between this dock and other competitors when you are trying to really fill a space/home/office with music. i hear things in songs that i never heard before in headphones or otherwise with this dock. i owned an original, sold it when i got my touch, replaced it with series II

Good product for the purpose it was made for

    • Written by from Edison

The sound is more than enough for my small city apartment. I can't crank it all the way without bothering the neighbors. And ofcourse it works with the iPhone and iTouch. You have to turn it on with enough power (battery comes empty) or your (iTouch or iPhone) will say the device is incompatible with your iPod or iPhone, instead of telling you it is off. I thought that was funny and confusing. The sound system in my car actually sounds better, so I am not too impressed, but what what it is, its pretty good source of music for your computer or iPod with an unbeatable convenience of space saving light mobile design.

    Great sound!

    • Written by from San Antonio

I just entered the market for a good sound dock for my 3G. First, I bought a Sony from the Apple store, but it distorted the sound at high volumes; unfortunately, that does not fit the bill for a college kid.

So, went and got this dock yesterday, plugged it in, and i was in love. then when we switched it to another outlet, it made a popping sound and wouldnt turn back on. This morning, i went and got the same one, in exchange. listening to it right now, its great. really handles high volumes well.

(4 stars, only because i had to go back to get one that WORKED.)

    Great sound!

I recently purchased the Bose SoundDock and I have to say the sound on it is great! It's a nice size as well and is a great quality and I love the little controller that comes with it.

Although it is a little bit pricey, it is worth it to have a good product that I will be able to use for years to come.

    Two thumbs up!

    Sound is AMAZING

    • Written by from HUMMELSTOWN

We have two other iPod systems in our house, the Logitech Pure Fi anywhere and the new iHome and this system easily blows both of them away. The sound that this produces is so natural. I have people comment on how good the music sounds and when I tell them it is coming from this system they don't believe me at first. Some ask if there is more than one speaker! This system can easily fill a room with full, balanced sound. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is so expensive, but in the end so worth it!

    Pretty good

Tip: turn down the bass on your iPhone (settings->ipod->equalizer).

I was worried about the sound quality for a while untill I got this tip and tried it.
