    Great sound, short lifespan...

Although the system creates a great sound, the durability of the product is awful. I've sent the speakers in not once but twice for repairs for things that the company couldn't explain. The razor company refuses to pay for shipping and their costumer service is not the greatest, if your going to spend the money get something that will last longer than a half a year, seriously not worth the money...

Disappointing, audition FIRST! LOUD, BUT TERRIBLE SOUND!

I suggest that the people who are giving these 5 stars cant' have auditioned them very well. Admittedly an apple store is not ideal, so having purchased these and several other speaker sets, using apples 14 day policy I took them home. These were tried against the following. JBL Creatures, Bose Companion 3, Bose Companion 5,
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX Speaker System and the Ferguson Hill FH007 Mini Speaker System. The Razer Mako was very disappointing. I'd agree with the comments that the Bose 5 was better, however, the Ferguson Hill's stand out. Go JBL or Ferguson Hill

In order, after games play, movie watching, classical and rock music.

    1/ Ferguson Hill.
    2/ JBL Creatures
    3/ Logitech
    4/ Bose 5.
    5/ Razer Mako.
    6/ Bose 3.

Please please please demo these before you rate them!

    Great sound, great look!

I wanted new speakers for my computer, which is where I spend most of my time. I listen to music, watch movies, and play games (WoW and others). My research led me to compare the Bose Companion 5, Focal XS, and Razer Mako. I had a Bose SoundDock in the past and was happy enough with it, but had no experience with either Focal or Razer. Reviews online seemed good for all three, so it seemed that I couldn't make a wrong choice. I ended up choosing the Razer because I thought it had the slight edge on sound (to my ear), it definitely has the edge on looks (very zen; I don't really like tiny speakers up on skinny stands), and I like that it connects via a standard minijack rather than USB (in case I want to hook it up to something besides a computer). Having used them for several months now, I can say that I am 100% happy with my decision to buy the Razer Mako!

    Amazing

These speakers are amazing. I have had them for almost a year and they still give me prefect sound every day. I am a audio enthusiast and I put sound quality over everything when it comes to the stuff I use to power my music. My dad has Bose Champion 5 and they cant compare...at all. These wonderful little things have their circular construction for a reason. The round shape of the speakers give the sound a more complex motion in your room, rather than just firing the sound strait at you they go to all directions giving them a surround sound feeling(without the stress of 10 speakers). I can go 7m (22 feet) from my speakers and the volume is the same as if i stand right next to them. The volume knob is a bit tricky to get used to but once you do you can fully appreciate the beauty of the LED lighting. The bass control is also a nice touch. So take it from me, they are worth every penny.

Best 2.1 speakers ever? maybe for playing GAMES!!!!

Don't you even compare these to bose companion 5!

ok first of all, I have bose companion 5. After reading all the great comments about this Mako sxxx, I went ahead and bought it. Guess what? These just didn't come anywhere close to bose companion 5.

I'm so so mad at the person down below who said "these put bose companion 5 to shame". I admit bose is a bit over priced but that person totally fooled me!

    Truly Amazing

I give these "tiny beast" 5 stars because after 1 month of listening to them with all sorts of music genres, they perform very clear very loud. My listening source is the new Macbook 2.4 with itunes music. My room size is 10x14.You would be amazed with the bass when the subwoofer is properly placed. I ordered these from Amazon and couldn't be happier. Setup was very easy. The small desktop modules take up minimal space. Razer includes extra long speaker cable for easy placement. Mine are spaced out 3' apart on my desktop with the sub sitting on my wood floor under the desk. I also own the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks which are very nice but you can't dare compare these two speaker systems. Razers are 300 total watts. THX Certified...first time ever in a desktop setup wow!!! I can't think of a bad thing to say about these speakers. Well worth every dollar. Thanks

perfect balanced sound for a small room

I just got these babies last week and i must say thye put the bose companion 5's to shame. The control disc is a finicky for sure but the sound is great.

These are not for someone whose idea of good sound is being able to feel it rumble in your chest. These are a tad more subtle. But i found them to be fairly rich and clear. Great throw for a 10 x 10 room. Sound is full and game action seems to come from all around. Hard to find in Canada but worth the effort. The price went from $375 to just over $600 in the last week.

Simply Amazing!! Worth every penny :)

WOW. I just bought these speakers last week. I barely opened it today and WOW!! Same price as the Boise speakers but you can control more. On the pad I can control the bass, mute and line 1 and 2, along with the volume. It awesome because on line is for the computer and the other line is for any other device you want. The pad is a bright blue that will grab your attention. Oh also. The speakers r what they look like on the screen but the base in person is huge and puts out a lot, but where you can hear everything equally... I would defiantly recommend this product to anyone.

    No longer on the Fence!

These speakers were brand new to the apple store, and after reading ~five reviews online, with one being negative I decided to take a chance. The other speaker system that I was looking to get was the Sound Sticks II, and after hooking these up it was clear that I made the right decision. The speakers are very well constructed, nice to look at and the sound is incredible. I compare the capability of this small speaker system (Frequency response, not SPL) to that of my Sunfire True Subwoofer EQ Signature and Paradigm SA-35's/SA-15R's in my 5.1 Home theater system. These are very accurate speakers, fully capable of handling down to ~20Hz with authority and they do it all while looking very good on the desk. If your looking for a quality speaker system, that is capable of full range music playback, then you can't go wrong with this choice!
