    White presents issues

    Written by BS from Baltimore

    Aug 5, 2008

I purchased the white Contour Flick to go with my White 16GB iPhone. I was instantly disappointed. Even though the case was a nice, snug, slim fit, just like I was looking for... the white does not match the white of the phone, making the phone appear yellow in the spots where you can see the color of the phone through the case.

That was something I could get over, and I continued to use it for a day or two anyway. After a day of it being in my pants pocket, I noticed that the part of the case that says "contour" (Where the two pieces are connected to provide the "flick" feature) had turned blue, accepting the dye from my jeans.

The case is well designed, but the white is a bad idea. The color doesn't match the phone, and easily becomes discolored. Go for the black or a different case.

    Slick Flick

    Written by RP from Seattle

    Jul 18, 2008

My first preference was an Agent 18 case for my new iPhone 3G, but since they didn't have any in stock, I chose this white Contour Flick to match my white iPhone. I was pleasantly surprised. This tight, form-fitting case is a "darker" white color, but it matches the white iPhone well. I do wish that the silver Apple logo would show in the back, similar to the white Agent 18 case, but I'm still happy with its sleekness.

The only thing I highly recommend is to pair up this case with the Power Support Crystal Film Set for iPhone 3G. This combination is for those who want the best protection on their iPhone 3G without having to sacrifice its smooth/lightweight form factor.

However, I did cringe at the $35 price tag.

    Great overall protection

    Written by JK from Hurricane

    Jul 17, 2008

This case fits great and makes your iPhone look fantastic. With white on white you can barely even tell there is a case at all. Made of hard polycarbonate that wont stretch out like other cases. The rubber hinge on the back is very strong and is wide enough to not cause any problems down the road. I wouldn't expect this case to be 100% protective during impacts since it is very sleek and there are no rubber shock pads on the inside like my old Contour Case for iPod Photo (ancient I know). Overall great buy. Great protection from scratches and of course the dreadful fingerprints on the back of your new 3g. 4 stars just because I doubt this could take a 5 ft drop and really keep your phone 100% safe.

    Flick scratches iPhone back

    Written by AC from Toronto

    Dec 28, 2008

I thought I liked the product as well after the initial few weeks. It's very thin, adds very little to the phone, and still allows us to use a dock. However, after a month or so of wear, I had to take it off (so the iPhone would fit into a FM transmitter I just bought) and noticed four long scratches on the back of my phone, right along the ribs of the case where it actually touches the iPhone. I thought the case was supposed to prevent scratches, not cause them! On my black iPhone, they're totally noticeable. For all those who gave it a 5 star rating, check your phones and let me know if I'm the only one.

Great slim fit, white hinges get dirty.

    Written by BU from Honolulu

    Dec 31, 2008

I picked case this for my white iPhone 3G for its light weight and slim form factor, but I really like the flip open bottom best. I can dock this into my older iPod cradle (though the 3G doesn't "officially" work with that cradle, at least the charging part works!).

I also had the original iPhone and owned the InCase Black Silicone cover (nice, but got a little loose-fitting and was a pocket lint magnet), and Agent18 Clear Shield (better in the pocket).

The ONLY downside to the Flick Case I have so far is that the white "hinge" and top power button cover are made of a silicone-y rubbery material that has turned from white to a dirty gray. OK, one more downside - this should be a $24.95 product, not a $34.95 case.

But it does the job well so far and is the closest to feeling like the iPhone doesn't
have a case on at all.

Four of five stars! (If this ever wears out, I'll get a black Flick case...)

Went thru 4 different cases until this one!

    Written by LT from modesto

I have tried rubber cases protects it well, but makes phone look ugly and it's a lint magnet also it is hard to put in pockets, i have tried leather cases, they look nice, but they still hide the beauty of the phone, people can mistake this for a blackberry or blackjack. leather cases also makes it too bulky.
NOW, this case is amazing it has nice paint color, it goes with the shape of the phone, so people can tell that you're playing with an iphone, it has a smooth touch to it, its almost like holding the iphone itself. and it has very good but not the best impact protection. it's very easy to slide in your tight pockets. the part that bends the case is prone to easy markings like pens or dyes from jeans but that's a minor flaw to me cuz itz ez to wash. i love phone protection and what i look for is form fit and function and this one fits the bill. i have a 16gb white one and im gonna get the black case too.

    Want scratches on your iPhone?

    Written by ER from BROOKLYN

...then get this case! This case totally scratched up the back of my phone and the sides. I've had it since the 3G came out and my iPhone is jacked up!!!

I fits and hugs it like no other case and it does look pretty but once you're ready to sell your phone or something, you're screwed.

This case 100% defeats the purpose of a case.

    Not that great

    Written by LM from Calgary

If you wear denim the blue ink will transfer over to the rubber connection on the case. It almost seems like the plastic has a slight blue tinge to it as well.

Additionally the bottom piece that 'flicks' will leave some wear marks on the metal trim around the phone.

It fits well and protects my phone nicely, but there are better ones out there.

    not worth the money

    Written by AK from Calgary

    Oct 5, 2008

I got my iPhone 3G on launch day and ordered this case shortly after. I was drawn to it particularly because I was looking for a slick case that didn't hide the beautiful white phone I had just purchased.

My initial reaction to this case when I opened the box was that it felt very cheap for the price. I didn't have any issues paying $35 because I was expecting a quality case.

First of all I do like the fit of the case. Its snug without being too tight. The opening for the camera lens lines up perfectly. However the colour if off. They are different shades of white. While this might not be an issue for some people its all I see when I look at the case... further cheapening the purchase. The best way to describe it is like a blob of whiteout on a piece of paper.

Another issue I have is with the rubber hinge. It quickly turned grey from being in my purse or pocket.

I definitely would not recommend this case.

Scratched the sides of the phone

    Written by MG from Murfreesboro

    Jul 30, 2008

While it's not too bad, I'm a bit disappointed with the Contour Flick. First of all, it feels very flimsy and cheap. Definitely not worth $35, and I'm pretty sure that if I dropped it on the floor it wouldn't protect the phone much, since it doesn't have any shock absorbers.

But I wanted a case more to prevent against scratches than dropping it (I'm careful with my stuff, but you can scratch something just by placing it on a desk or table). So imagine my disappointment when I discovered the chrome sides of my iPhone have gotten scratched just in the three or four times I have put on and removed the case. You have to slide it up into the case and then snap the bottom part in (hence the "flick"), and I guess it's the sliding that scratches the chrome.

    Bummer.

    Terrible Case: iPhone Screen Cracked

Written by BP from Los Angeles

    Nov 13, 2008

iPhone was great after a while, very sleek, fit in my pocket well, and minimized on bulk. These were great features but the case does not cover much of the case (the sides of the case are flush with the front) so when i dropped my case, face first, CRACKED glass. Does not protect at all and get the incase slider which protects the front as well as the back.

    Cracked screen

    Written by JK from Breckenridge

    Dec 4, 2008

Do not buy this case! I have had an iPhone from the beginning, both the original and the 3G. I've had all kinds of cases. I have dropped my phones numerous times while in the case. In this case, my screen cracked. Broke my heart. It was one of the first cases available and with the cool flipper for charging, I was sold, But it wrecked the beauty of my phone. I've ordered the Slider from Incase like I had for my first generation. I wish it had been available before and my phone would still be perfect.

Other then the price, this product does the job. it is very convenient if you religiously use the 3g dock. you just flip open the bottom and it fits perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants protection and who want to use the dock with out taking off there case.

    Written by DM from Fairport

Loved the look, feel, grip, flat black...didn't realize the black is PAINTED ON over a clear case. I had this ONE DAY and it's rubbing off everywhere. It's going back to the Apple store for something else.

    Scuffed Metal...

Written by JK from West Vancouver

    Aug 22, 2008

All-in-all, this is a decent case. When it's fitted, it's snug and does the job. Only problem I noticed is that when I removed the case to clean the phone, the silver metal on the border of the phone was scuffed along the sides. I don't know if this happened when I placed the case on, removed it, or if dust/dirt got into the case. I take it, the metal will easily scuff with time regardless but it was a bit irritating that I bought this case to prevent damage, not to cause it.

    Okay but could be better

Written by CT from South Williamsport

    Jul 24, 2008

The case fits TIGHT! No slipping no slouching that being said, I had to try it off. I CRINGED when I heard it grinding trying to slide it off. That was only after I had to pry at it for a while. I don't plan on really taking mine off unless I find a better case but for people who want a case to take off this is not for you at all. Also the other down side is the whites don't match. I think I can live with that though because no one really "looks" at my phone that closely. Do I think that this thing will protect it from a fall.... no. But I do think it helps prevent the apple on my white Iphone from being scratched up as long as I keep the case on.

    Nice case

    Written by BB from Placerville

    Aug 29, 2008

I was at first hesitant to buy it because all the reviewers claimed it was a different white than the phone, but it isn't. The hinge and sleep/wake button are made out of a softer, stain-able plastic, so that might be what they are referring to, but the body matches the phone perfectly.

Tough to remove, I'd recommend not trying it unless you are at home sitting on something padded in case your phone slips. The easiest way to remove it is by popping it off rather than sliding the phone out.

Be sure to buy some touch screen film because most cases, including this one, do not protect the screen at all.

Overall, an attractive and durable cover.
I tried dozens of covers at the Apple store (just ask, the usually have a box behind the counter full of cases to test out) and found that this one most closely resembled the iPhone design.

    Great Minimalist Case

Written by WG from Holly Springs

    Jul 25, 2008

I normally don't like cases. I kept my original iphone covered only with a PowerSupport film on the front and Invisible Shield on the back. I tried the Invisible shield for my 3G, and I didn't like the aesthetic qualities of the added texture and very slight yellowing on my white iPhone 3G.

The Contour Flick (white) maintains the original beauty of the iPhone. This close-fitting case is very simple. Buy this case if you are looking for the case that least changes the aesthetics of the white iPhone 3G.

The case is actually whiter than the iPhone is. It's a pure white, while the iPhone is more of a creamy white. You can tell the difference while looking at the volume control cutouts are.

There are some things that make this case stand out, however. With this case you actually see white while looking at the front of the iPhone (it covers the chrome bezel). I think it looks cool with the white border.

The case is just plastic, so I was concerned about it being "slick". So far, the plastic has been less slick than the bare iPhone, but not as grippy as a silicone case. There is a slight indention (looks like a dent at first) on each side, where your finger will naturally rest. I think it might show less scratches than a clear case.

The "flick" feature means that I can continue to use my iPhone dock, which is nice. I only hope the rubber flap that keeps the two parts together holds up over time.

Overall Im very pleased with this case.
