Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones from Monster
Great Product
Written by JR from Richardson
Jan 9, 2009
I got these for Christmas and they're great! I thought they might be a little overpriced, but they are worth it. Don't believe the skeptics who say that you're just paying for the name. I would recommend these headphones for anyone! I play on my drum set all the time and they are magical to play with. They are so comfortable that you won't even notice you are wearing them. The only con is that they must be turned on to be used. You can't use them without the noise- canceling technology. But really, who want that turned off? GREAT HEADPHONES!

Pay for the Name? No way...
Written by BZ from Chino Hills

When you first see these headphones, you might think that you are paying through the roof just to have some rapper's name on them! But after two weeks of owning these headphones, I can tell you they are worth every penny I payed! The first thing is the comfort! When you wear them you don't even feel like you are wearing anything at all! Yet they are sturdy and strong.
Next, the look. Unbeatable. Absolutely, hands down the most stylish headphones available for purchase! The boxing they come in alone is dressed to impress.
After that, people are complaining that they leak sound, well who cares? I mean, what are you listening to erotic books on tape on an airplane? Gimme a break!
Finally, the sound. Oh the sound. Some say these only work for hip hop and rock. I strongly disagree! These headphones are built for every kind of music! The quote on the back is "So the listener can hear music like the recording artist can" and that quote is oh so true! I am an avid classical music listener and these headphones have improved my listening experience 100-fold! Get these headphones! You won't regret it!19 of 26 people found this useful

AKG is the way to go
Written by LD from Palos Verdes Estates

As a response to another review, this product is not the way to go if you are looking for a product that can deliver for its price. Trying this at the store really showed me that the average consumer bases their reviews on the bass which is a mistake. A headset should cover not only just the bass but all the highs and lows that you should hear! Being a part time DJ, I was looking for a replacement to my other headset (for everyday listening) which had worn out and I turned to AKG. They have by far the best sound quality for their prices.
If you are looking for something in this size range, I would take a look at the AKG K 514. Its a quarter of the price yet double the sound quality. Plus they are extremely light on your head which means you can wear it for hours.25 of 43 people found this useful

leaks noise
Written by KR from wading river
Jan 8, 2009
I couldnt decide between these headphones and the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 or 3 but I decided to buy these upon reading reviews that stated the Beats produced better sound quality then the Bose. Well after receiving them and trying them out, I was very impressed with the sound quality and the noise cancellation. However, you cant use them in public! They leak noise! Say you use them on the plane or on a bus, the people next to you and even further away can hear every single word of what you are listening to. Even at the lower volumes they still leak. They leak so much that it sounds like a radio, everything is crystal clear, not muffled or anything. And after learning this I read more reviews and others wrote the same thing that I am now writing. So I returned them to Apple and purchased the Bose Quiet Comfort 2s. Couldnt be happier. I do not know why a company would release a product that leaks so much noise, unless they are specifically supposed to be used in the comfort and privacy of your own room where no one is around, but who would want $350 headphones just to use in your house...?

The Beats are on the top of the Headphone market right now!
Written by MC from Danbury
Jan 7, 2009
They are the best headphones on the market right now for listening to hip-hop, R&B, and pop music. You hear things in the music you don't hear otherwise. Especially songs with big bass and strong background effects. Prior to these I had the original Iphone earbuds but before that I had shure in ear sound isolating earbuds which promised to be the best but didn't live up to the hype. The beats match or surpass the hype, do yourself a favor and go to a Best Buy to try them for yourself.

Beats by Dre - HIPHOP
Written by NP from Downingtown

FYI - Dr. Dre is a Rap pioneer. These headphones were made specifically for that genre - Hip-Hop/Rap. My music library consists of 100% Hip-Hop/Rap and these headphones have greatly enhanced my listening experience. Strongly recommended for portable audio. Just make sure nobody jacks these beats from your head...

These headphones are amazing. A little pricy but honestly worth every single cent. the base is incredible it almost shakes the very stylish and sleek headphones off your head. It's great for every and any type of music from country to rap. the noise cancellation is also incredible. while standing in the apple store trying them on my buddies tried yelling at me to tell me it was time to leave and i didn't hear a single word. these headphones are extremely comfortable and are a good buy for those that listen to music on a daily basis.

Great sound!! Much better than Bose QC3 (for music). The Bose QC3 are better for movies. The only flaw I am worried about is the plastic headband braking if your not very careful.

I've had the head phones for about 5 days and they are absolutely perfect, i have a pair of nice bose, but unfortunately the bose cant compare. I listened to the bose and switched right over to the beats and you could hear and feel the difference, the beats were much more comfortable, they took out more noise, and the sound was much more crisper, I now hear songs like I have never heard before. When people complain about the price, well thats their problem, you get what you pay for and you get everything you pay for with the beats, I also hear people complain about it making weird noises when you push it together, hhmmmmm, maybe if you dont close them together it wont do that, the battery on it lasts a while to.

Utterly Incredible

I went into the Apple Store to upgrade my in-ear headphones and left with these. The sound quality is simply incredible. They are particularly great for rock and hip-hop because they pack an amazing bass punch and crystal clear highs. Yes, they're expensive. Yes, they're worth it.
If you don't want to spend the money, I would advise not trying them on so you won't know what you're missing.6 of 8 people found this useful

These are without a doubt the best headphones that have ever been made. Having said that i think the price is what makes these headphones not worth it. If I were you, i would by the in ear ones for about $150 less that are more travel sensible, with just as good clarity.

ive researched about ten other headphones, tested each headphone, and the beats seem to be the best. the price tag may be a little too much, but is definately worth each cent. becomes extremely useful at the gym, traveling, or just anything involving you and your music. dre has put his sense and taste of music into a set of headphones that every individual should experience, just the same way every artist does in the studio.

Beats by Dre

If you appreciate sound quality of music, Beats are an exceptional set of phones.
May not be for everyone, difficult to rate a product based on music taste. The sound is full and powerful. With a tremendous appreciation and taste for a very wide range of music. these headphones perform brilliantly. The name of the phones are "Beats" by Dre. Hence, they are bassy and powerful on the low ranges, more so than other head monitors. Not for everyone's taste. Most peoples libraries probably very in music style and genre. Songs are recorded with different eq settings based on artist and producer preferences. You may have to dial the eq for these phones. Absolutely worth the money. My father is a sound engineer, difficult to impress him, HE enjoyed and was impressed. Pricey headphones are not for everyone, if you can't afford, don't knock the product.19 of 26 people found this useful

I got these headphones after my Bose Noise canceling headphones were stolen. These are much better and a lot more comfortable. I flew cross county this holiday season and these headphones were incredible. The sound was great during movies on my laptop and listening to music on my ipod. If you're looking good sounding, noise-canceling headphones than these are for you.

The biggest problem is the price
Written by NW from Cambridge
Dec 25, 2008
I tried these out at an apple store a few nights ago and first things first... the bass will make your eyes bleed. It thumps all the other sounds right out of your ear and practically humps the side of your head. Also... it wasn't good bass, it was distorted and at times completely drowned out the FOLK song i was listening to so i can't even begin to imagine what hip-hop would sound like coming out of them... prolly irecoygnizable. Everything sounded thick and heavy and filled with BASS. this being said, i loved them. even though it was a bit much they were great, when you could hear vocals through the pounding of bass they were good and i would defiantly buy them if it wasn't for the price which is ludicrous. All in all, they're good but if u have the $ to spend i suggest you spend it else where.

i received these for christmas and i love them. they have the best sounds i have ever heard and i've listened to many headphones before i decided to get these. they are also very comfortable and durable too. even though they are kind of expensive they are worth the money because most of the noise-canceling headphones are a couple hundred dollars anyway. these are great and i just cant stop listening to them.

All these people complaining bout the humming noise, that is only when you are not listening to music because that is that sound cancellation. You do not hear it while music is playing. They produce great sound.

Fashion Fiction
Written by CR from Paso Robles
Dec 25, 2008
Well, I would like to think of myself as a ignorant sound snob. I only know what I like by listening to the quality, not the technical part. I like the deep bass of my Bose in-ear, but I like the iPhone mic in the Vibe II. The Beats are nothing more than a fashion statement. A statement saying I have money and I want people to know. I acquired these "beats" with the preconceived idea that they would have amazing deep bass. I was wrong, kind of. Some songs have the deep bass, but the majority of the time it is only hinted at. These are $100 phones in $250 clothes. When Monster and Dre say these were made with bass in mind it is all fiction, fashion fiction.

My friend bought these for me on sale for a little less than $280 for Christmas, I was a bit skeptical because I read the reviews about how "bad" these things were for the price. I have to say though, they sound great to 90% of the listeners. If you are true audiophile then you wouldn't be using these headphone but, if you want a very good option to the Bose definitely take a listen to these.
