If there are any Real Producers out there?
Written by ZH from Broomfield
Mar 23, 2009
I have been reading some of the reviews on these headphones and most of the people that have wrote a review is some spoiled rich kids using them to listen to there Walkman's and Ipods and have no clue in production what they are capable of and are definitely not into music production, why do I say this i have a full studio and have payed 600 to 700 dollars for headphones and when side by side to the "Beats By Dre" the all sound like nothing, yeah so they use batteries the sound of these headphones blow away a 700 pair of headphone no comparison what so ever. The clarity of the low's mid's and high's is so clear the only way you could compare the sound is that of the L7 15" solobarics i have in the trunk of my car .....Dr. Z

Not as bad as others say.
Written by ET from Baltimore

I recently bought the Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones from Monster. The sound quality is excellent! My only concern is that they leak sound, which means anyone around can hear EXACTLY what you are listening to. I don't like being in public or on public transportation and being forced to listen to other people's music, which is probably why I won't wear these in public. Likewise, I don't want to be a target for robbery because someone else is stuck on a name brand.
I listen to many different genres of music that sound good on the Beats Headphones. I'm not sure why others were complaining that these are only good for Hip Hop/Rap music. Lastly, I do think these are worth no more than $225 rather than the $300 dollar price tag.42 of 51 people found this useful

COMPLETE AND UTTER AURAL NIRVAVA.

For anyone whom is SERIOUS about sound quality and clarity, the beats, albeit a hefty splurge for most, are essential. Crisp highs and clear thumping lows enrapture you in a complete state of musical bliss and mental isolation.
Caution: Be weary of your surroundings when wearing them. Sound isolation WILL block out sounds on busy streets, subways/trains, and airplanes.
Recommended: buy all your music from Itunes to ensure you'll get the highest quality music m4a (or better) files. The headphones will only sound as good as the file is crafted.
My only vice: Get used to sound leakage and listen to all your music with pride because you and everyone in a 3 foot radius can hear your music. The PROS definitely outweigh the cons though.
A definite recommendation for any music lover out there.

Awesome Headphones!!!

These headphones are simply amazing. The mids and highs are crisp, and the bass, simple incredible. They are expensive headphones, but worth every penny. I use them for recording vocals and for producing beats on Logic and not one thing goes by without being heard. They look sleek and smooth, unlike any other headphone, they are comfortable, and are just plain amazing.

Great headphones, best ones i have ever owned
Written by DD from Eden Prairie

These headphones are spectacular. I have the 1st generation iphone, and these work perfectly with it. I love how you can change songs and talk on the phone, while your headphones are still on... with just a click of a button.
The look of these headphones are great, you will definitely turn heads if you are wearing them out and about.
The noise canceling is so good, that you can not even hear anything when you are listening to music. The only way you know that you are talking is by the vibration of your throat.
The price may seem a little steep, but compare it to the Bose noise canceling headphones.. the Quite Sound 2 and 3.. i think these are much better, and they are about the same price or cheaper.
I love these headphones and would recommend them to anybody i know. The sound quality is great, the look is great, and it feels great wearing them... thats a great combo.14 of 17 people found this useful

Decent sound, leaks . Broken. Beware of screws which loosen and break.
Written by PG from Traverse City
Mar 12, 2009
I loved the sound and fit of these while I had them, however there is a design flaw in which the screws that hold the headband together loosen, and ultimately break. I know of at least two other people who have experienced the same problem. Like another poster here, I am extremely careful with my gear, and these were no exception. Its a drag really, because they sound is pretty decent, but at this price they shouldn't break after a few months of normal wear. Also, the sound leaks from these so bad that anyone near you can hear exactly what you are listening to at moderate volume.

it's about time......

The Beats are long overdue. They have the ability to cover the full spectrum of yesterday's to today's music. As a drummer I am use to full level and to have a headphone that allows me to get past the guitar player is something. However listening in a hifi environment is where these phones shine. I highly recommend The Beats to all.

i used to have all bose headphones in my music studio until i went and tried these out. they have a much clearer sound that the bose headphones. the bass is so smooth. i had about twelve sets of bose and i got rid of all of them and but these in. they may cost a little more but it is so worth it. if your a music producer or just someone who wants to listen to good quality sound these are the best headphones on the market,

Mediocre w/ Brand Name
Written by HL from Seattle
Mar 7, 2009
As the title, Monster has become Bose.
I can't understand why this phones are getting 4 star.
The bass is overpowering the details, there is basically no detail at all and it's not that hard to differentiate a good phones w/ a bad ones like this Dr.Dre's
I suggest you to take your time and try better headphones out there such as : Sennheiser HD650 or Grado phones. It's not that hard, really...
So, there is no detail at all, low mid and high are scattered all over the place.
I won't spend more that $50 for this phones, and yes I have tried this phones but there is no way I would spend my $$ for this.21 of 57 people found this useful

Absolute worst headphones EVER
Written by GM from Cos Cob
Feb 22, 2009
I'll begin with the sound quality. its alright. yea its obviously good, you're spending 300+ dollars but its nothing that says "these headphones are out of this world." Within ONE week of owning these headphones, the plastic on the top snapped in half because they are made of the cheapest material on earth. I am very careful with expensive things that I purchase, and these headphones broke even with my extreme attentiveness. Seriously, for a company to charge the money they do for these headphones and to use such second-rate quality is just unacceptable in my opinion. Also the wires are just as substandard. Within a months use I was already having problems with only hearing music in one ear.
Save your money and buy something else. These headphones are very low-grade.68 of 109 people found this useful

Not worth Price
Written by TP from Los Gatos
Feb 21, 2009
Ok sound. Pretty Load. But not worth the 350 $ price tag. I own pairs of the Bose Qc 3 and Skullcrushers by skullcandy. They Both deliver amazing sound, Noise Cancling amazingness. If your looking toward a heavy bass with good sound go with skullcrushers. If looking for amazing highs and lows, go with Bose. But I would not recomment overly bulky, pricy, and noise leaking headphones.

Best headphones that I've ever bought.
Written by AS from Abbotsford
Feb 11, 2009
Beats by dr. dre headphones are the best headphones I've ever bought. I'm not so sure why people are so negative in their reviews.. here are some of the things that I like about the headphones: The bass is low, smooth and thumps like your in a central european club. The look is hot, simple, clean and draws a lot of attention. The sound quality is outstanding even when cranked up to the max which is ridiculously loud.. I was listening to a song with soundcheck on and turned it off; it was a mistake haha let me tell you. I highly recomend these headphones for anyone looking for something to listen to music with, they aren't studio quiality but still beat anything else on the public shelves. If your on a tight budget then dont look twice at these because they do cost a fair bit. Go buy some skullcandy or something lol.
