Apple should not sell this product.

Given all the problems people have trying to charge more than one Apple product at a time via USB, Apple should not sell this. It will not even charge an iPad via USB even if there is nothing else plugged into it. FAIL.

    Dose Not Charge Cell Phones

I bought this model so I would be able to charge my USB devices and it only works half of the time for me cell phone. For the same price I could have gotten one with extra outlets instead of USB ports so I could plug in my stuff. My sister bought the same one and one of the outlets broke after only 3 months, it is also very big to carry around.

    I wanted to love this

I so wanted to love this product but it just didn't live up. I took it on a trip for Thanksgiving and quickly became frustrated with it. I plugged in my husbands and my iphones into the two usb ports and the phones started power cycling! The "protected" light also stopped working, which makes me nervous. I am returning it. It's just not worth it.

    Permanent fixture by my bed

    • Written by from Durham

It promises to be great for travel, of course, but mine spends the majority of its life plugged into the outlet behind my bedside table. I've got an alarm clock, a lamp, my iPhone cable and my JawBone cable all right there. I still have an open outlet for my Macbook A/C adapter. Love it.

The rotating outlet is a great feature, but save that little gray piece they send with it for when you need to rotate the prongs; you did know this thing rotates, right? Anyway, it takes a lot of force to rotate it, which is a good thing -- at least it won't slip. But I was afraid I'd bend a prong in the process without that grey piece to keep them steady.

One minor gripe - our bedroom is pitch black at night, so the power indicator is noticeable. I'd almost cover it with tape.

I've had it a few months now with no problems though. Get one!

    An excellent surge protector!

This surge protector works great. Belkin's always a good brand for surge protectors, and the features on it are great. The three plugs are well-spaced; you won't get a bulky adapter in each one, but they'll fit plenty of slightly-wider plugs. In addition, the two USB ports are great for charging phones (charges my Motorola KRZR better than the charger that came with it!), iPods, whatever you have that gets USB power (I even have a USB power cord for my DS that works great). This means you can leave the bulky adapters at home, just bring the USB cables. It even comes with a mini-USB charge-only cable, for most Blackberry phones, modern Motorola phones, pretty much anything that uses that new standard for power.

It is a bit big, but not unreasonably so. Especially when you consider that it keeps you from having to bring at least two other large AC plugs, it really makes up for it in your bag! In addition, it comes with a cap that goes over the plug, keeping it from getting bent up in transport; there's also a small spot on the side for the cover to slide on when it's plugged in, so you don't lose it. Small things like that make it grand.

And of course, as you can see in the official description and the pictures, the plug on the back rotates. It locks into four different positions, so it's not a true "360-degree" plug I suppose, but that should be good for most anyone.

All in all, a great value, a great brand, and great features.

(I bought this at Best Buy on sale, although the Apple Store price is far from unreasonable!)

    GREAT for hotel stays

To the comments that it can't charge two iPhones - it CAN! It can't charge them both via USB, but it can charge one via AC and one via USB or both via AC. This is great to turn one hotel outlet into a charging station for 5 devices. I charged all last week my MacBook, my wife's iPhone, my iPhone 3G (via USB), a Flip Video Camera (via USB), and a Sony A700 DSLR. NO problems at all, best $25 I've spent in a long time.

Good Choice for Home or Road

The Belkin is slightly bigger than the picture suggests, however, considering the solid build, functionality and the $75,000 Warranty, the unit is well worth the price.

This all-in-one unit from Belkin has delivered as promised. The rotating (and lockable) plug is a convenient feature. The Belkin product can be plugged into an outlet in a horizontal or vertical orientation. I use it in the horizontal configuration and sit my Ipod on the side of the unit -- it makes a nice little shelf.

The 3 surge protected AC outlets are a big plus...plenty of room to plug in my laptop and camera chargers while using the USB chargers to top off my Ipod and mobile phone.

Overall a nicely configured product that will get substantial use.

    Doesn't work with two iPhones

I purchased this from my local Apple retail store so I didn't have to pack two iPhone chargers when travelling. It works fine to charge one phone at a time, but when two iPhones are plugged in at once, they both just repeatedly make the "plugged in and charging" sound. I assume that together they just draw too much power.

I own Belkin's previous travel surge protector (without USB charging) and really like that the electrical plug folded flush into the device. This plug is different: it's fixed in place I'd prefer to have one less electrical plug to make the unit smaller, enough power to charge two iPhones at once, and foldable power plug.
