Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Good little mouse
Written by SJ from timmins

Bought this mouse for my macbook pro a few months ago because of the poor rating recieved for the mighty mouse. Not much to say about it, its a standard mouse that works flawlessly, it connects without effort, good battery life, just an overall solid mouse.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
A vast improvement on the Mighty Mouse
Written by GR from NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
Sep 2, 2009
I've had my Mighty Mouse replaced FOUR TIMES under AppleCare due to the woefully-designed scroll wheel getting gunked up and failing. So I finally admitted defeat and put my hand in my pocket for one of these. What a joy to have a scroll wheel that actually WORKS. As others have noted, forget the Logitech software - the V470 pairs with Bluetooth Macs right out of the box, with scrolling and both buttons supported natively in OSX. Highly recommended, and not just for notebooks - it's large enough, and its ergonomics sound enough, to be used all day with your desktop. I'm using mine with my iMac, and I'll my last Mighty Mouse is permanently consigned to the trash.

Great Mouse!
Written by RG from Homestead

Very little bluetooth lag that I have seen with many other blue tooth mouses. Great build quality that you expect from a logitech mouse. Very easy setup. Very happy with this mouse and I like it alot better then the apple mighty mouse that I was using prior to this mouse.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Works almost all the time.
Written by MC from Oakville

The V470 is a great notebook mouse that has many great and unique features. Particularly, I find a great use for the side-to-side (left/right) scrolling feature, which is really useful on my 13" MacBook.
Otherwise, there may be some connectivity issues, that will require you to remove the mouse from the list of Bluetooth devices on your computer, and re-search for it.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Comfortable, responsive, accurate
Written by MS from Fullerton
May 10, 2009
This is a fantastic mouse. I bought this when I returned my Razer Pro|Click notebook mouse, which was horribly unresponsive and inaccurate. I can say that this Logitech is my favorite mouse that I've used so far. It's a bit bigger than most notebook mice, giving it a great feel in your hand. The accuracy that the laser offers is fantastic and it's also quite responsive.
The only negative is the slight delay in pointer movement when using it again after it goes into it's standby mode after a period of non-use. It takes the pointer a minute to start moving on screen, but this only happens when you haven't used it and never during actual usage. This is the only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating.
I would highly recommend this mouse.7 of 9 people found this useful

Problems seem fixed!
Written by AP from New York
Feb 2, 2009
I also had some of the problems mentioned, but then I saw the post on AUgust 29, 2008 by PM from Chicago: "If you are having any problems with the mouse skipping, jumping, freezing up, losing connection, etc, it's a simple fix: Go to your Applications folder>Utilites>Disk Utility. When it opens, select your Hard Drive from the list on the left and click "Repair Disk Permissions". Voila! Mouse will work like a dream."
I did that (it takes a few minutes) and it seems to work flawlessly now. I give it 4 stars because the jury is still out and also because Logitech could have figured it out and provided a fix.30 of 30 people found this useful

Windows 7

The mouse worked really well with Mac Os X. No problems whatsoever. However, on the Windows 7 beta, the scroll wheel is NOT supported. I don't know if this will be fixed by the time Windows 7 is released, but I don't recommend buying this right now if you plan on upgrading to Windows 7.

So far... So good...

Hey!
I bought this product just hours ago and i can say it is really god, it is a bit heavy tough. I used to have an Microsoft mouse and it was really slow and weird.
But this one looks and feel really nice. I decided for this model because i read a lot of bad reviews of the mighty mouse.
I hope took the right decision.12 of 15 people found this useful

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Very good, but not perfect.
Written by BG from Hampton
Sep 22, 2008
I've owned this mouse now for several weeks. Not long enough to comment on battery life, so far, but I can say that for a mouse its performance is decent. This is, by definition, a portable mouse so it's somewhat small. I have large hands and I was worried that this would be an issue, but it turns out that it's not too bad at all.
With that being said, I'm not certain whether all bluetooth mice seem to be jumpy, or if I've just been having lousy luck. After leaving the mouse still for about 10 seconds (or any amount of time longer) when you first move it it'll jump a bit. You'll have to do that "Ok, where's the cursor" thing for a second or two, but then you find it and it works fairly well. It does not perform well at all with the native Mac mouse driver, but once you install the Logitech software and play with the settings a bit, it tracks and scrolls much better and with an accuracy as good or better than any other bluetooth mouse I've used. I try to avoid installing unnecessary software but the Logitech Control Center makes a big difference here.
As for physical design, Logitech did a great job. It feels solid and well-built. The buttons and scroll wheel button give a nice satisfying click, with just the right amount of resistance. Of course, all the buttons are programmable. I honestly feel like I could throw it across the room and it'd come back for more - which is good since as a portable device it's intended to travel. Like I said before: the mouse is a bit small, but it's got a nice steep curve to it so it's easy to grip and I don't get cramps in my hand from trying to use it. You can tell that they definitely paid attention to ergonomics while trying to maintain portability.
Despite being all plastic, the silvery colored parts are intended to match the anodized aluminum of modern macs and their keyboards. This mouse matches my aluminum wireless keyboard perfectly. Plus, despite what the product pics show, the little light on top lights up blue - not green - to indicate a successful pairing or connection.
The only difference between this mouse and it's PC cousin is the color of the plastic, and this mouse works just fine on Windows.
This mouse may not be perfect, but I believe it's flaws are more from Bluetooth than from this mouse. I'm glad I bought it, and I'd do so again.22 of 25 people found this useful

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Smaller than I thought
Written by JB from Silver Lake
Aug 20, 2008
This is a good mouse. It's a little jumpy sometimes, but very rarely and nothing that is very annoying. It was seriously ready to go in under a minute. When you turn it off it disconnects, but connects as soon as you turn it on again. It is smaller than I thought it would be, but not too small, it's the perfect size for a laptop mouse. I can just throw it in my bag, but it's big enough to be comfortable for my hands.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Reliable with good battery life.
Written by SJ from Los Angeles

I bought this at the Apple store out of town for presentations with my laptop. I was kind of put off by the small size, but I think it's the perfect size for a portable mouse. I actually replaced my mighty mouse with this one at home since it actually functions.
I've had the mouse for 3 months now and the battery is still going strong. For comparison, I have another Dell branded mouse (also made by Logitech) and I have to replace the battery every month or two.6 of 7 people found this useful

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Small for my Taste
Written by AY from New York
Jul 11, 2008
I'm happy with it. once its been configured to my MBP i just have to turn it on and it connects within 2 seconds. I experience no lag and have had no problems with the wheel. Battery life is great cause of the off button.
However since i have large hands this notebook mouse is small for me but Ive gotten used to it
I would recommend this over the WMM even if they were the same price. This has battery indicator, actually has some shape isn't flat like the MM, Its wheel doesn't get messed up like the WMM.you may say but the WMM has many customizable buttons, with Firefox add-ons u can customize your mouse.15 of 17 people found this useful

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Very Satisfied
Written by SC from Little Neck
Apr 22, 2008
I read many negative reviews of Mighty Mouse and decided to go to this product.
This has very elegant feel to it (if you were thinking about MM because of its beauty, this won't let you down either). And clicking is easier than MM that I tried in Apple retail store. This mouse also supports 4 way scroll (I didn't know until I received it; so 360 degree scroll is doable) and no laser beam (red light that you expect) comes out to hurt your eyes (I don't know how this laser works). This might be small for the people with big hands but for me it's perfect. 20 bucks difference is not that much (Most of Apple products are more expensive than other counterparts anyways) but since I read about scroll ball problems in almost all of the MM reviews, I decided it's not worth the trouble. This is a big win for Logitech (yes it provides great looking pouch too) and well connected to Bluetooth of my Macbook.73 of 100 people found this useful

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
mostly good
Written by DB from SAN FRANCISCO
Apr 9, 2008
Overall I like the mouse a lot, having finally given up on the wireless Mighty Mouse. This one has a right-click button that always works.
What I don't like about it is that sometimes when my hand isn't on the mouse, it will go through a rapid cycle of putting messages up on the screen that read "mouse disconnected", then "mouse connected", then "mouse disconnected", etc. I'm not sure what triggers this or what makes it go away.
Also, less often, the button won't register. I'll think my Mac is frozen until I try clicking with the trackpad, which works fine. When this happens I can fix it by turning the mouse off and then on again.41 of 61 people found this useful

Some kind of connection problem
Written by RH from Cary
Mar 22, 2008
I have used my V470 on my Imac and Leopard for about 2 months now and like it. But, the last few days it has disconnected itself every few minutes. I have now turned off my Imac and reconnected it to see if it works now. I like the functions, but this problem must be fixed to be usable. I don't know why this is happening.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
I'm pleased with it
Written by SR from Tempe
Dec 16, 2007
I received the V470 about six weeks ago and have generally been happy with it. The native drivers in 10.4 / 10.5 work well, including the horizontal scroll, so I didn't install the Logitech Control Center pref panel.
I've used it heavily at home and work with no problems. If the mouse is left on with no activity for an extended period (say overnight), then it takes a few seconds of motion to bring back the connection. I would expect this as a battery saving feature. I have had no problem with the bluetooth link dropping or unpairing, and I really like not having to use up a USB port for a separate receiver.329 of 477 people found this useful
