Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Not worth the cost
Written by AW from INVERNESS
Nov 18, 2009
The V470 worked OK (but not as well as a corded mouse) for a few months. Then, for no apparent reason, it stopped working and I have not been able to get it going again.
I installed new batteries – nothing! I re-read the instructions (what little there is) that came with the mouse – no help. The mouse has not been dropped, bent, folded, stapled or mutilated. It just sits on my desk and refuses to even light up.
I give it one star because it did work for a few months.5 of 5 people found this useful

Poor Connectivity
Written by SK from POTTSTOWN
Oct 8, 2009
I agree with most reviewers concerning the connectivity issues. Out of the box this product worked fine. On the third day is when I began experiencing problems. When the MacBook goes into sleep mode Minny Mouse has problems reconnecting. I am not going to alter my power settings or waste battery life for the sake of one USB port. I'm going back to USB.

This mouse is unusable for any detail work
Written by ND from Innishannon

Granted it connected no problem but it is completely useless as the accuracy of how it tracks is so poor and VERY frustrating. I bought this on a trip to the US so can not return it so I will be dumping it. What a waste of 50 bucks !!!!

Poor Connectivity- 1 Month Later Stop Working
Written by LR from Chicago
Jul 22, 2009
I purchased this mouse because of the previous mostly positive reviews for use with my MPB 17", one word "useless", the mouse lost connectivity even when it was a inch away from the laptop, and then it would connect, disconnect, and so on. Eventually about a month later, it simply stop working. The light indicated that it works with the battery installed, but no connection to a Mac or PC whatsoever, waste of money!

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
junk

from the beginning have had trouble with this mouse -- for some reason the computer cannot "recognize" this mouse.
Now have a cordless usb mouse which does the same thing -- no wires -- but is recognized instantaneously, has only one battery (the bluetooth has two that last only a month or so), and has worked faultlessly.
It is also less than half the price of a blue tooth device.
Guess blue tooth has some growing up to do, or perhaps Logitech and Apple don't see eye to eye on blue tooth6 of 14 people found this useful

If you like headaches, this mouse is for you!

The mouse worked great for a few month + a little more. Then just quit. I tried musical batteries, with the little blue light flashing here and there to give me a sliver of hope. Nothing.
I also tried the application, folder, utilities, ......blah blah blah...disk utility...blah blah..hard-drive.....last blah...repair disk permissions.
Nothing. No go.
Ultimately it quit working after a few months.
Good mousing.7 of 14 people found this useful

I hope I can find the receipt.

I tried this mouse because my wireless Mighty Mouse had gone kaput and I just wanted to try something different. I was hoping for something a little more low-maintenance. (The MM's trackball needed cleaning so frequently.) I'm going to try to return it and exchange for another Mighty Mouse.
I had read the reviews saying the the pointer is jumpy when it comes out of idle, and it really is. I could live with that, I guess, but the scroll is also really slow no matter what setting you use and that is beginning to drive me nuts after just a couple of days.
Additionally, my secondary click (which I use quite a bit for Exposé) seems to have stopped working all together.
Spend a little more and get a better mouse.6 of 8 people found this useful

Not happy

I just bought one today, along with my first Mac, and I am having so many problems with the scrolling. When I scroll upwards it goes down, and vice versa. Can't seem to work out why??

Awful!
Written by RH from Los Angeles
Aug 25, 2008
After finally getting tired of the slow performance of the mighty mouse, I decided to give the v470 a shot. Not a good choice on my part. This thing is almost as bad if not worse. The only plus it has going for it is that the scroll wheel works very well. That's it. You cannot use this mouse with a graphics program. In Photoshop it just jumps all over the screen. And, for normal internet use the slowest speed setting on the mouse is still almost too fast. It's like a nervous little rodent. Did I mention this thing is small? If you got hand cramps with the mighty mouse, well this thing will make them worse. I am returning it tomorrow and hoping the Logitech MX1100 is as good as I've been reading about. Bluetooth mice have a long way to go as far as stability and reliability.

Not recommended

More expensive than Logitech non-BT products and not responsive at all!
Slugish tracking, long reconnection time upon every reboot/power on. It drives me crazy when I use it - feels like I had no control over it - it lags so badly.
I wish I had never bought it.14 of 19 people found this useful

Looked great and worked very well for about 2 months, but then it stopped tracking. It will click, but no tracking movement at all. Too bad for me, a waste of $50.

Stopped working

This mouse worked fine for the first month. After letting it rest for 2 months while out of town, it stopped working completely. The lights did not even flash. After trying new batteries, it is just not working.

You have to be real close.
Written by JM from Loganville

Other people seem to have good luck with this mouse, but I tried it on two different computers with no success. I planned on using it on a mac mini hooked up to my tv in my living room. If I moved more than a couple feet away from the computer it stopped working. Useless.
So I thought, well, I paid for it, I'll just use it on another computer. No good there either. That computer sits on the floor below my desk and apparently the desk was to much interference. It was really jumpy and inaccurate unless I put the mouse right on the computer. Useless.
This mouse would probably be fine for a laptop, but depending on you desktop setup you may have trouble.24 of 45 people found this useful

BEWARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LEOPARD
Written by AA from Sugar Land
Feb 13, 2008
I just got a new macbook and bought this mouse to go along with it assuming everything would work well. Logitech usually has great products but this is not compatible with leopard. Just like the other two bad reviews say, it just randomly stops working and has to be reconnected and can even freeze the computer. Now I have to go through the return process or wait until logitech creates an updated driver. Dont buy this if you are running leopard

Doesn't work with leopard!
Written by JS from Herndon

I bought this a month ago for my mac book pro. It took an hour to get it to connect, and get everything set up. But since then I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to reconnect but it just can't. This mouse doesn't work. I called Logitech and they said that Mac had changed some key numbers that inhibited it from working! Don't buy this till they fix it, it's not worth the headache! And returning it has been a nightmare!

DON'T BUY THIS!!
Written by RN from Katy
Dec 9, 2007
I have owned 3 or 4 logitech mice and have always been satisfied with their products... I purchased this mouse about a month ago straight from Logitech and the performance was horrible! the tracking was not smooth and the connection kept getting lost, I literally had to reinstall it every time I turned on my computer... I returned it for a full refund...
