    Only one complaint

Written by JS from Fort Riley

    Jul 11, 2008

I've been working with the V470 Bluetooth Mouse for a couple of days now and have had a chance to notice one thing that could use improvement. Whenever you don't use the mouse for awhile and it goes into "idle" mode it takes awhile for the pointer to respond to movement once you use the mouse again. This is a bit annoying because for the first second or two the pointer is jittery and doesn't move smoothly across the screen. It wouldn't be such a problem if it didn't do it so often. Seriously, every time I don't use the mouse for a few seconds it acts this way. Logitech needs to correct this issue if they want to contend with the Mighty Mouse. The Mighty Mouse never did this.

More expensive than Logitech non-BT products and not responsive at all!

Slugish tracking, long reconnection time upon every reboot/power on. It drives me crazy when I use it - feels like I had no control over it - it lags so badly.

I wish I had never bought it.

    Tracking is sloppy

    Written by CM from Auckland

    Jul 2, 2008

I've mixed feelings for this mouse. It's small but comfortable, has no connection issues, is a decent weight with batteries inserted, and scrolls in all four directions as intended.

However, the cursor tracking is sloppy. Feels like it lags. Not overly precise. Kind of jittery. Tried using both the Logitech Control Center software and also an application called SteerMouse to make it behave better but no luck.

Due to its imprecise tracking, I do not recommend this mouse.

    Great Bluetooth Laser Mouse

Written by KC from Kuala Lumpur

I bought V470 on 2nd May. Already a month, it works perfectly with my macbook. It doesn't need a USB reciever/adapter to connect the mouse. It has NO problem with the scroll, at least better than wireless mighty mouse cos my friend bought one and after 2 weeks its scroll ball started have difficulty scrolling and she sent to service center. She has waited for a week to get her wireless mighty mouse. I really doubt the quality of the wireless mighty mouse. Moreover it has only one year warranty unless you buy applecare, but the V470 has 3 years warranty. and it is cheap...

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    Love it!!!

Before buying it I was a little leery because of some of the reviews indicating that the connection would be lost. I have not had this problem. I have had this mouse for about 2 months now and I have yet to experience any issues with it. I travel with it all the time and it never lets me down.
This is a great product and also less expensive than the apple mighty mouse. I highly recommend this mouse and it is a great alternative to the mighty mouse if you are looking to tighten those purse strings.

Looked great and worked very well for about 2 months, but then it stopped tracking. It will click, but no tracking movement at all. Too bad for me, a waste of $50.

    Feels Great, works better.

    Written by JB from Bremerton

As apposed to the mighty mouse I tried, this mouse "just works". Flip the on switch and push the connect button and your synced. From there on you can just turn the mouse on and off for storage. Your mac will detect when it's on and start using it. Shoot, if you leave your mouse turned on then boot your computer up, it'll detect it and start using it then too.

It feels great in my hands (I have large hands) and the balance/weight is just right with the batteries in it. It felt a little chinsy when I took it out of it's package, but with the batteries in it feels great.

The scroll wheel, is smooth with a little tactile "bumping" feedback when you move the wheel. And the left/right action works great too.

My ONLY con would be that it has a .5 second reaction delay if you havn't moved the mouse for 15 or so seconds.

But I've been using this for FPS games and it works flawlessly. No mouse jumps and no weird glitches. It Just works.

This mouse worked fine for the first month. After letting it rest for 2 months while out of town, it stopped working completely. The lights did not even flash. After trying new batteries, it is just not working.

good desgin but lots of lag

Written by PB from Palma de Mallorca

I tried this mouse for replacing my scroll dead mighty mouse.

I liked everything about this mouse except the fact that it's extremely laggish (bad response) which makes it useless in situations where you need speed and accuracy (design, 3d, gaming etc) in my opinion.

Otherwise It's perfect for browsing and less demanding tasks.

After a few days I changed it for another wireless mouse of the same brand using a propietary wireless system instead of bluetooth.

I cannot believe how easy and powerful this mouse is for my Apple MacBook Pro. The Bluetooth travels further than most and the flexibility is exactly what I am looking for. Although I love MAC in all of its incarnations, Apple would do well to concentrate on what makes the Logitech Mouse soar compared to the wimpy Apple counterpart.

Lovein' it, Logitech. Keep up the mojo!

    Awesome Mouse

    Written by JY from Macungie

Iv had this mouse for about a month now, and it works great with my new macbook. I got this mouse after reading some reviews about the mighty mouse and how the right click didnt always work, i was afraid maybe id be missing out on some more apple innovation, but iv never had a better mouse. the connection stays solid all the time and hasnt failed me yet, the buttons are light and responsive, and the scroll wheel works great with the side to side scrolling. the design is nice and compact yet not so small you feel like nothings under your hand. other pluses are it matches my white macbook and came with a carrying case if i ever need to travel with it.

    Very Satisfied

Written by SC from Little Neck

I read many negative reviews of Mighty Mouse and decided to go to this product.
This has very elegant feel to it (if you were thinking about MM because of its beauty, this won't let you down either). And clicking is easier than MM that I tried in Apple retail store. This mouse also supports 4 way scroll (I didn't know until I received it; so 360 degree scroll is doable) and no laser beam (red light that you expect) comes out to hurt your eyes (I don't know how this laser works). This might be small for the people with big hands but for me it's perfect. 20 bucks difference is not that much (Most of Apple products are more expensive than other counterparts anyways) but since I read about scroll ball problems in almost all of the MM reviews, I decided it's not worth the trouble. This is a big win for Logitech (yes it provides great looking pouch too) and well connected to Bluetooth of my Macbook.

I previously owned a logitech vx revolution laser mouse and decided to purchase this mouse. I needed the extra usb port so i went bought this mouse from an online retailer ($15), deal i couldn't pass. I've owned this mouse for a little over a month and I have yet run into any difficulties. I wish logitech would offer this mouse in black.

    mostly good

Overall I like the mouse a lot, having finally given up on the wireless Mighty Mouse. This one has a right-click button that always works.

What I don't like about it is that sometimes when my hand isn't on the mouse, it will go through a rapid cycle of putting messages up on the screen that read "mouse disconnected", then "mouse connected", then "mouse disconnected", etc. I'm not sure what triggers this or what makes it go away.

Also, less often, the button won't register. I'll think my Mac is frozen until I try clicking with the trackpad, which works fine. When this happens I can fix it by turning the mouse off and then on again.

You have to be real close.

Other people seem to have good luck with this mouse, but I tried it on two different computers with no success. I planned on using it on a mac mini hooked up to my tv in my living room. If I moved more than a couple feet away from the computer it stopped working. Useless.
So I thought, well, I paid for it, I'll just use it on another computer. No good there either. That computer sits on the floor below my desk and apparently the desk was to much interference. It was really jumpy and inaccurate unless I put the mouse right on the computer. Useless.
This mouse would probably be fine for a laptop, but depending on you desktop setup you may have trouble.

The Logitech v470 Cordless Laser Mouse is a very comfortable mouse in the hand with very accurate controls. Installation was a snap, as one expects with a Mac, and the price is fantastic when compared with similar products on this site.

GREAT PRODUCT! DONT BUY IT AT APPLE STORE

amazing product. no usb hanging from laptop anymore, all wireless and bluetooth. works with all versions of windows from boot camp, even 64 bit. you can also set the middle button for cascading windows in vista which is cool. I also use it for expose in mac. great connection, good product. BUT very expensive in apple store, try buy.com, which is 15 dollars after rebate, which is 50 dollars cheaper.
