Dont trust BAD reviews. its excellent.

I bought this film set today. i was a little weery about it since i had read that putting the fim on the ipod was like "performing surgery". THIS IS ABSOLUTELY untrue. it took me, no lie, less than 1 min to put the film on the front and about 3 mins to put it on the back of the ipod. Obviously if you are in a place that is dirty and you dont follow instructions and have SOME care, its going to be a little bit harder to put the film on.
in my case i still had the film which comes w the ipod on so when i took it off my screen was fairly clean. so i easily placed the new film on it.
my ipod looks wonderful, it was a piece of cake, so i DEFINITELY recomend this product.
do not pay attention to bad reviews!

If applied correctly, this is a sweet accessory for new and/or unscratched or minorly scratched iPod Touch. If the shiny part of the iPod(back) is already scratched badly, don't bother. I bought this the same time I bought my iPod as well as a case. I feel the combination of the two gives the ultimate protection for iPods. To apply, it does take a bit of time to plan. If you are unsure about applying, ask someone artistically skilled or experienced with applying screen guards on devices. This screen guard protects very well and it reduces smudges by a whole lot resulting in little need to constantly clean the screen. The guard for the back is a necessity to prevent those annoying scratches on a new shiny finish of iPods. Since the back of my iPod is scratch free, often times I use it as a mirror.

This overlay set protects the front and back of my Touch like magic. If you are wanting to keep the surfaces from getting scratched or smudged from touching, this is the product. Also, the set blocks out glares from the sun, hence the product's name >D

    Pros:
    -Reduces glare from sunlight
-Protects from smudges, scratches and dust
-VERY easy install. Do the back first to experiment on your method of applying, but the best way to apply is to peal a portion of the glare from the plastic it's on, and align on Touch. Then add pressure by pushing down on the plastic (not on the surface of the Touch). Just be sure you do NOT let the overlay "fall" onto the iPod, otherwise you will get air bubbles.

    Cons:
-Doesn't protect the whole portion of the back, but it does protect most of it.

This set goes well with a case. I'd reccomend the ~~Incase Protective Cover for iPod touch~~

    my 15 bucks worth

noticed reviews are either *very* good or bad? depends on how the protector is applied.

ideally, you’ll need a clean room from intel, and some scrubs/rubber gloves from your local er. if for some reason you don't have access to these, make sure you wash your hands and be careful – think about not wearing a shirt – or one with a high fuzz count. clean the surface - i used an lcd cleaner. hopefully you didn’t remove original front protector yet, making it easier.

you should put the back(shiny) one on first as practice (as another reviewer mentions). it's actually pretty easy–start at the notch; the only part you can line up. peel cover as you push protector down, smoothing bubbles as you go. careful not to touch the surface.

now the front - start with the circle, line it up, and push protector onto screen as before (again - in another review). for me it seemed to flow right on - minimal bubble chasing. my protector isn't an exact match to the screen, so there could be a tiny space on one side if you lined it up perfectly to the other. realigning with scotch works, just be careful- it's hard to line up *perfectly* and lint free - i just left it the way it was in the end, hardly noticeable.

the screen does look a little different; with solid whites you can see the faint lines of the antiglare stuff. does seem like there's better traction, though.

and yes, the back doesn’t cover the whole thing- ipods are rounded.

*skipping to the bottom? start here:

    -read reviews
    -take your time
    -yes, it is expensive
-if you’re worried hard cases will scratch your ipod, think about getting this – it’ll at least protect most of the back.
-it doesn't take forever - it took longer to write this review.

If It Worked It Would Be Nice!

Written by MM from Grand Island

BE WARNED: $15 gets you one piece of plastic for the front and one for the back. If you mess up the application you are out your money and have to order a new one. $15 seems way too pricey for only one piece of plastic with only one shot to get it right.

I received mine in the mail, tried to apply it and had to trash it. The problem is that it seems near impossible to apply the cover without getting those HIGHLY ANNOYING bubbles. The tiniest spec of dust will create a bubble that does not go away. When I tried to apply the cover I kept getting bubbles. I would find the piece of dust and remove it and apply it again only to find a new piece of dust and a new bubble or two. Some bubbles you can rub out, but the ones created by dust don’t go away without getting every little spec of dust out. I actually got fairly close a couple of times to no bubbles. However, after messing with it for several minutes I had more specs of dust on there than I could deal with. I had to toss it and basically flushed $$$ down the drain. Applying this cover may be one of the most frustrating things you attempt in your life. Having a tennis ball nearby may be a good idea so if you feel the urge to throw something you have something other than your iPod available.

If you are looking for a way to prevent scratches, smudges, and fingerprints - this has got to be the only way to go. It was easier to apply than I expected. I fixed the protector on the back first so I would have a feel for how it would respond, that way the front went on without difficulty. Use a credit card or something of similar size/firmness to smooth the protector onto the screen - this works great to prevent bubbles! Also, once this item was properly applied, it did it's job like magic. It looks beautiful and really fights off smudges of all kinds, fingerprints, too!!!

I just received this product and was installing the film on the screen and it went on crooked. So I peeled it off and tried again. Then I was getting bubbles and it was getting more difficult. Then the cloth that came with the ipod which I was using came in contact with the underside of the film. Not a good idea, as lint go stuck to the film. Needless to say I couldn't use it and am ordering another one. This product is good and when it was on my ipod for the short period of time i could tell it was a high quality product and would last.

    Anti Glare and Protector Extraordinare

I bought my iPod Touch as soon as I could get my hands on it. Scratches came shortly after due to no cases/screen protectors were available. This is a must have unless you plan on keeping your iPod Touch in a scratch-resistant vault. It says it's removable for cleaning, but it collects dirt if you take it back off, that is the only reason why it's a 4-star

I bought this product when I bought my iPod touch. I am very pleased with this product and would spend the $15 on it again in a second. I didn't have any problems with dust or air bubbles, because I was in a CLEAN environment. This product protects the screen great! I've had it since the iPod touch first came out and I've never even had to "clean" it. I just rub it against my jeans and it's clean as a whistle. I would recommend this product for anyone who is planning on buying a iPod touch.

If you buy an iPod touch, you need this. There is no loss in sensitivity, and the back cover will protect the scratch magnet that is the back of the iPod (but won't save the sides). Also, you can barely see the screen without the anti-glare. At $15, you need to buy this.

    Great Product!

I love this film protector! It's practically invisible and it almost feels like the glass on the iPod. The film doesn't show much grease or oil from your fingers so you'll only have to clean it once in awhile; this is something I'm happy about. Application was really easy; the tricky part was getting all the dust and other particles out from underneath the film. To anyone who is having this problem, just use a piece of clear tape to pick up the dust from underneath, and it will look awesome afterwards.

Anyone that is considering buying should totally disregard every single negative comment about this product. This is a must-buy!!!!!!! Seriously, whoever thinks that it's impossible to remove the air bubbles or that it should be applied in a bio-lab to prevent dust should take time out of their dee dee dee lives and ACTUALLY READ THE DIRECTIONS!!! That is all anyone needs to do. It does everything in the description and looks GREAT!!!!! Totally worth it. Two thumbs way up!!!!

    air bubbles...

    Written by TR from Edmonton

    Mar 5, 2008

this protector came with the case that i first bought for my touch, and i followed the directions exactly. i cleaned the touch and made sure there was no dust on the screen or film. even after all the precautions used, there were still a few air bubbles. i took the screen off to get rid of said bubbles, and that was the end of it. All the dust in the room basically went right under the film and it ended up being pointless to keep. if someone could find a way to make sure there is no dust in the room, then this would be a great product.

Nearly impossible to avoid dust & bubbles

Written by JR from Mount Pleasant

    Mar 2, 2008

I bought two of these, intending to gift one to a friend with an iPhone, while mine was for my Touch. Both went to waste as the nature of the static cling side acts as a vacuum to dust, and even the tiniest of micro-hairs of dust makes a bubble form when applying to the screen. Reading others' reviews I set out to create a dust-free environment in a room with no carpet to avoid such problems, but it was pointless. If you are concerned with keeping dust from between the film and your screen, you would need to be in a "clean room" lab.

It says you can rinse and reuse this, but even lint-free lense cloth (used for a DSLR lense, required to be dust free) leaves micro-hairs on the cling side, and it's next to impossible to remove. Furthermore if you do more than the lightest of rinsing/wiping, the film becomes permanently opaque, ruining it.

There's another set of these listed under the Apple Store with far lower rating, it's the same product but I'm convinced it was listed a second time to overcome the poor reviews. I would avoid this product if I were you.

    Nicey but pricey

    Written by SF from Surrey

This protective film for your iPod Touch's screen is very good, and is easy to apply if you align it carefully. I am disappointed that the film for the back does not offer any protection for the iPod's metallic edges, nor the black WiFi antenna. For the price, I was expecting it to hug the iPod's contours and curve around edges to provide more protection. When applying, both films are not so sticky that you can't peel them back if you get an air bubble underneath. But once fully applied, it would be difficult to lift the film off without crushing part of its edge with your finger nail. In summary: excellent matte finish, but the protection offered by the rear film is a disappointment, and this kit is quite expensive for what you get.

    Question

    Written by WU from Miramichi

    Feb 26, 2008

I bought this set for my iPod Touch, and I didn't read the instructions very clearly. Before puting it on, I touched the part that goes onto the iPod, causing some dirt on the underside which I couldn't get off. Now while it was on the ipod it was great! Other than my mess up causing it to be dirty, it did a really great job. There were absolutely no fingerprints with it on, and it did absolutely nothing to distort the screen. A must have if you don't have a case with a flip cover.

P.S. The package says that it can be cleaned, but I tried a few ways and it didn't help. If anybody knows how, post it on here please!!

Written by DA from MORTON GROVE

I bought this along with a case for my ipod touch. I read one other review that basically had the same problem I had. Air bubbles... I tried putting the cover on an angle and wiped as I went to remove air bubbles. This didn't work 100% and there were a few small ones. Removing the film was the end of it. Dust got on the ipod and then onto the film... It's pretty much not worth putting it on my ipod. If you get this, it seems like it will do a great job, just make sure you clean your ipod really well first time around and do this once... After that, don't bother taking it off.
