    Not Good..

    Written by TG from conyers

    Mar 7, 2008

The iPhone,of course, easily gets smudged and fingerprints are more visible then anyphone ever made. So, I purchased the power support anti-glare film set for iphone to fix the problem, and putting it on was a bit tricky task but still easy, but after seeing it on the iphone, it "LOOKED HORRIBLE"!!! Not only did it significantly decrease the brightness of the iphone, it also made the images on screen look "stale" because of the ruff, and I mean ruff exterior of the film. Dont buy this product unless u really want to take away from the iphone's beautilful picture quality. If somehow, u do decide to buy this product, you will easily notice the numerous drawbacks of having this anti smudge film and end up throwing it in the trash like I did.

    bubbles

I was unable to remove the bubbles between the iPhone and the film despite applying it as directed and despite tedious rubbing and repeated tries. I ended up throwing out the film (and cash).

    terrible

do not buy the anti-glare filmset. Go for the crystal one! The anti-glare distorts the screen terribly. Although fingerprints are virtually non-existent, the degredation in screen quality is not worth it!

    Buy the Crystal!

Written by AK from New York

    Aug 7, 2008

Do not buy the Anti-Glare film, but the Crystal. While the anti-glare may avoid fingerprints and glare, it also distorts the screen. I had the Crystal before and simply wanted to try the Anti-Glare out, and it was a big mistake. The Crystal truly feels and looks as if nothing is on the phone's surface. The anti-glare looks - and feels - grainy. Buy the Crystal or try both out in the store (many Apple employees use one or the other).

    Waste of Money

    Written by MP from Columbus

    Apr 26, 2008

Impossible to apply. After thoroughly cleaning my phone, one small piece of dust caused bubbles to form between the screen and the film. Attempts to remove the film and reapply (there's no tab in the corner for easy removal) caused kinking in the film rendering it completely useless. This happened with both of the films. $15 for this garbage?!? Save your money.

    disappointing

    Written by GB from Chicago

Pro's: It does prevent fingerprints from showing up.

Con's: The sticky side cannot be cleaned no matter what the company says (which they say to clean it you run it under low pressure running water and let it air dry). Using scotch tape to remove the dust does work but do not leave it on for anything longer than a second since it will remove some of the sticky material of the film (thereby leaving a print). Also the cover does slightly blur the screen which is mostly only noticeable with text. Last, the film does not cover the entire surface of the iphone 3G (do not know about the first iphone). When applied on the 3G, you will have space above the home button instead of the hole being centered around the home button.

If I had to do it over again I would not have purchased this product and just lived with the fingerprints but if I did do it again I would have the apple store put it on for me.

    Lousy Product

Written by JR from Miami Beach

    Mar 10, 2009

As soon as I stuck it to my iphone, I gave it a test run and accidentally brushed it lightly with my fingernail. It instantly and permanently scratched the crystal film set. Also, the air bubbles will go away, but if there is even a microscopic particle of dust anywhere near your device, it will leave a permanent little spot. What is the purpose of applying an easily scratched surface on top of an already scratch-resistant one?

The glass on all new iphones and ipods is extremely resilient to begin with. I've had my ipod for 2 years now; it has traveled all over the country with me, and there is not a single scratch on the glass. This is a redundant product. Just wipe your device down with lens cleaning fluid, or use the cloth that came with it and it's good as new.

Such a waste of $15 dollars. I wish i could get a refund. The brightness and the clear interface are both gone even though i thoroughly cleaned the screen.

    Worthless Better Off Without It

    Written by NS

    Apr 15, 2008

Impossible product they might as well give you at least 5 films instead of 2. It will take you at least 2 or 3 times to get it correct on your phone. Just when you think you have it lined up correct with your phone, it is usually off centered and at least part of it it sticking on the metal sidepiece. Then if you try to take it off to redo it dust particles are certainly going to get trapped under your film. Then it's time to get a new one and repeat the process and try it without being frustrated. Good luck.

    Tried both

I first bought the Crystal because it was the first screen protector
    out.
After seeing the reviews for the Antiglare I thought it may be a better
    choice.
Went out and bought the Antiglare.

    Pro: Antiglare works less glare.
Pro: Less finger prints. (no big deal the Crystal wipes clean)
Response and feel: Smoother and better traction with Crystal
    Con: Hard to read print.
    Con: Made everything look grainy.
Switched back to the Crystal because it's CRYSTAL clear. (just like the glass but you are protected)
Make sure you use a lintless cloth The one it come with (get the screen perfectly clean]
    Use the shower to steam the bathroom. (no dust}
Peel it back and hold by the edges (like a dvd)
Take your time and "Lay down the protector"
Line up the home button and the edges.
Get the Speck tough case and your good to go!

Takes away the clear glossy look...

Written by RV from New York

    Feb 22, 2008

The anti-glare screen is good but the crystal film is better minus the smudges and fingerprints...this anti-glare takes away the clearness of the lcd and actually feel a bit grainy, making it look cloudy. The crystal film TMO is better and is like it states, crystal clear as if there was nothing there.

    Screen Kills Display Detail

    Written by NG from Pflugerville

    Sep 23, 2008

The screen does reduce glare and dramatically reduces fingerprints and smudges; both positives. On the negative side, the screen looks very grainy, especially for viewing fine detail on websites, but it is a problem all the time. Feel is OK, but not as good as naked.

The price is too high for what you get.

    Good until you CLEAN it!

    Written by ZL

    Apr 29, 2008

When I first bought this product it worked great. But bad news, if you ever want to clean it, DON'T because it was impossible to get it back to the way it was. I tried every method on this site and none of them could get it back to the way I bought it. Some of the methods worked "OK" but not good enough. Even the good methods left two to three bubbles straight in the middle of the screen. I give this product overall "OK" rating

Two Flaws, One Minor, One Fatal

    Written by CW from Onojo-Shi

    Jul 17, 2008

Pro: No fingerprints or greasy smears!
Pro: Nice smooth gliding action and tactile feel.
    Pro: Good screen protection.

MAJOR Con: Causes graininess, artifacting, and general loss of screen focus/resolution.
Minor Con: Does not fit the 3G iPhone perfectly. It was designed for the slightly smaller 2G iPhone and never updated.

This would be the perfect screen protector, be it not for the fact that it noticeably decreases screen clarity, sharpness, and resolution while introducing screen artifacts and a shimmering effect on bright backgrounds.

Use of this screen protector with the 3G iPhone is akin to going from a beautiful 24" 1920x1200 flat-screen LCD display to a cruddy circa-1995 14" 640x480 CRT office monitor. I actually prefer the matte finish to glossy, but what I can't tolerate is the grain and fuzz this screen protector creates.

Also of minor concern is the fact that it is too small for the redesigned and slightly larger 3G iPhone, and as a result allows grit and grime to collect between the protectors edge and the 3G iPhone's outer bezel.

It's truly a shame, because this accessory gets a lot of things very very right. It seems like they should be able to design a matte-finish fingerprint-free solution that does not deteriorate image quality as this screen protector does. When that day comes, I'll ditch the glossy protector I purchased to replace this one and come back to the anti-glare side of the fence.

Other thought: It can be tricky to install for some people, but really all screen protectors are in the same boat. Patience, fastidiousness, and breath-holding are your friends.

    Disappointed

Written by GB from Fort Worth

This does protect the screen nicely, but it gives the screen a grainy look. I find text a little harder to read (it appears a little fuzzy). The screen doesn't "wow" me like it does with a clear, or no, protector. It was installed by an Apple tech, and he did it correctly, but I think I'm gonna have to get something clear.

Less Durable Than the Actual Screen

    Written by LM from Watertown

    Jul 25, 2008

My experience has shown the films to be highly scratch-prone. I have since removed them, and am quite happy with my iPhone's naked interface once again. I would advise that if you choose to buy this product, do so because you truly need anti-glare.

Written by RH from Las Vegas

This product would of been perfect but there were too many bubbles because of dust so I rinsed it under warm water and reapplied. Once I reapplied you could see discoleration due to the water under the film! So I used a piece of tape to remove it and by doing this the entire film bent deeming it useless. Ive yet to recieve any support from Power "Support". Ohh the irony :)

    Great For Defeating Fingerprints, BUT...

    Written by WB from Killeen

    May 5, 2008

I bought the product to defeat fingerprints, face oil marks, etc., and that it does very well. I also found it much easier to apply than other screen saver films I've tried for other products, although I can't call it EASY to apply. What I hadn't bargained with (because I didn't read enough of these reviews) is the fact that the matte finish does detract somewhat from the readability and attractiveness of whatever you're looking at on the screen.

Finally, and this is something I didn't see anyone else complaining of: I noticed this morning, after carrying the phone in my pants pocket for the first time since applying the film, that very tiny little bits of flotsam have found their way under it here and there. Guess now I'll get to experience for myself how easy (or not) the film is to remove, clean, and re-apply!

    Great, but Troubling...

    Written by AS from Tequesta

    Apr 8, 2008

These film protectors are really great after you stick them on, because not only do they protect the screen, but they also don't get fingerprints on them. The only MAJOR problem is that putting them on is EXTREMELY hard mainly because if one tiny speck of dust lands on the screen while you are putting them on, air bubbles form and if you try cleaning it off even more dust specks go on it. I even had to buy TWO packs to get them just right! The first 2 were a nightmare that I even had to throw them away! But once they are on, its clear PERFECTION!

    Ok, but

Written by DD from Garden City

This film protects against glare and fingerprints extremely well, but the other films are a bit clearer. If fingerprints and glare really bother u then it might be a 5 star product for u. I prefer the other film that doesn't slightly affect the screen quality.
