Anti-Glare Film
A bit grainy but worth it...
Written by JL from El Cerrito
Aug 4, 2008
Okay. Seriously, it's not that hard to put on. I made sure to have it under a bright light and wiped it down with a micro-fiber cloth. I gently brushed the remaining lint off the edges, put on some latex gloves (no oils or dirt on my fingers), and wiped it down again for good measure. I peeled the backing off the circle end about an inch and lined it up over the uh, circular button on the phone. Making sure the hole was indeed in the center I eyeballed the edge to make sure it was straight. As SOON as the was lined up I began to slowly lay the rest of the film on the phone while peeling off the remaining backing. The adhesive side seemed to almost absorb the face of the phone. This whole process took about thirty seconds.
The end result is a more grainy looking, textured screen. It's definitely not AS clear, but I'm okay with that since the fingerprints and oils from my fingers are gone. I'll get used to it. Is it noticeably different? Yes. I've been looking at my phone without the film all day and instantly saw the difference when I put it on. BUT, it still looks GREAT and I'll compromise a bit of the clarity to not have to wipe down the screen every time I play with it.3 of 3 people found this useful

Anti-Glare Film
Almost Perfect
Written by AA from Elk Grove
Jul 21, 2008
I love this protector film.
I love the matte feeling it gives my screen. I love how it doesn't catch fingerprints or oil from my face when I'm on the phone. It doesn't interfere with the iPhone's touchscreen, it's almost as if there was now film on the screen. I ordered it for the iPhone 3G, but I was sent this one for the iPhone. I didnt want to make my 5th trip to the Apple store in my area to exchange it or exchange it via mail, so I just used it.
Although it doesn't fit my 3G perfectly, the uncovered areas are covered by my hard case.
My only gripes with it are:
- It really catches on to dust easily. I tried to put on my first film, but too much dust got stuck to the adhesive and I couldn't take it off. So I put on the second one. I've already used both of the films in one fell swoop.

not bad
Written by BC from Toronto
Jul 18, 2008
no fingerprints and feels smooth moving over the screen.
a bit tricky to line up when putting on, but I guess they are all like that. Was recommended this one from the apple shop guy. He said it wont leave finger prints.. he was right. Helps keep glass screen clean of face sweat too :)
There is some grainyness in the display, but nothing major. $CA15 for 2 is an okay price compared to others.

Very good, but one bad thing
Written by CA from Waterford
Jul 17, 2008
The good, it stops finger prints, glare, and no scratches on the screen
The bad, doesn't fit the iphone 3G to good and it makes the screen grany.
But I don't mind it, I think it's a pretty good product5 of 6 people found this useful

not perfect
Written by WJ from montville
Jul 15, 2008
all the reviews said this would kill fingerprints and even face grease, which it does, but it gives the phone a grainy sort of quality so when you're texting or ipod browsing or doing something with a white background, it's a little distracting
still, it keeps me from wiping my screen every three minutes so that's good

Anti-Glare Film
The definitive review!
Written by JN from Walton on Thames
Jul 13, 2008
No wonder there are so many reviews here, the packaging really doesn't help distinguish between the Crystal Film Set, nor does the manufacturers website.
I bought both and tried both. In short, its a matter of taste but the questions you should ask are:
Do I mind fingerprints and smudges?
Do I want to preserve the glossy look of the iPhone glass?
If you want the glossy look get the Crystal Set. If you don't like the fingerprints you'll just have to carry a cloth with you all the time. If you don't mind the prints or carrying that cloth, and want the gloss, its the Crystal Set for you.
If you think prints will get on your nerves, if you think that carrying that cloth and wiping all the time will be a drag, and if you don't mind loosing the gloss, get the anti-glare.
The problem is you don't know if you want the gloss or not! I didn't, but upon installing the anti-glare, I decided I didn't care, the benefits of the anti-glare, for me, were much greater than the Crystal set. It gives a matt, slightly mottled look to the screen which I don't mind in the slightest, it prevents prints, and gives a lovely smooth touch feeling to the screen. I love it.
Only thing to bear in mind regardless of the choice you make... make sure there is NO dust on the screen before application, and when placing the end down as per the instructions, remember that even half a millimetre will alter the look once your done. I've not got it quite centred on the vertical and it annoys me regularly, but I don't want to risk damaging the film so I'm leaving it.
Four stars for a product I can't find fault with except for the price... each film can't cost more than 5p/10c to produce, but you get quality and two in a pack, many of the other brands only supply one.10 of 10 people found this useful

The Power support film cover is great but when you put it on there are air bubbles plus when you mess up you have to use the 2nd and last one in the pack that they only give you 2 film covers.

A great improvement over glossy
Written by GA from Dallas
Apr 29, 2008
I prefer this to the glossy as it does not show skin oils or minor scratches. It's both easier on the eyes and requires less cleaning. It's not as responsive to touch as the glossy, but quite manageable.

I just bought this after research and it's beyond my expectation.. Keeps everything off the screen period. What more can you ask for? (cheaper price hopefully) One can dream. But it does the job.

Amazing, but if it gets dusty...
Written by EW from Midlothian
Apr 9, 2008
I love this product, but I give it 4 stars because there should be a big label to either have the apple people put this one, or the following instructions. Otherwise once you get dust on the "stick" side you are over it:
Removing dust:
1. Run the shower for a few minutes with the door closed until a good amount of steam builds up in the room (got this step from another reviewer of this product). Turn off the water and keep the doors closed. The steam will settle the dust in the room and it cools and sinks. Only need to wait 5 or so minutes.
2. Run the film under some water in the same bathroom sink and take a good clean soaked sponge and wipe the sticky side in one direction the full length a few times (might have to have a light near by to hold it up and make sure all the lint-dust is done). Wipe, rinse, wipe, rinse until its completely free if dust and specks.
3. Once its totally clean set it on a clean flat surface (but with an edge so you can grad the film from under) with the sticky side up and leave the room, closing the door. Let it dry for about an hour (the sticky side dries very quick and you can touch dry the other side) and then attempt to apply in the bathroom. Might seem paranoid but when you enter/exit the bathroom try to move slowly as to not draw in dust from the air outside the bathroom.
This is the best method I can come up with and it worked for me on the first try, after dropping the film on a carper floor and it getting covered in dust and flecks. You might have to "rinse and repeat" but it should work 100% like it did for me.
Trust me its worth the process. Even one bubble due to a fleck of dust or lint can ruin the visual quality of the device and thats why we are all buying these films instead of some crazy case.
Other than that it is a great product. Lives up to the promises on the package which is a rarity these days. I really like the fact that it makes the screen look and feel like my laptop non-glossy screen. If you wanna know how it will look/feel look at a macbook pro and drag your finger across the screen. That is exactly how it will be.
If you like the fact that your iphone is reflective on the screen and has that gloss look then do not get the anti-glare, get the crystal ones.

A++ product...even though I bought it by accident!
Written by GS from Chicago

As much as it chagrins me to mention it, I actually was TRYING to buy the screen protector for the iPod touch, NOT the iPhone. But, thanks to my own haste and a mildly un-observant salesperson, I only realized AFTER getting home that the product I'd bought didn't... well, it didn't really fit.
Here's the catch though: after opening the packaging AND realizing the fit was off, I installed it ANYWAY... I was THAT impressed with how easy it was to attach and how robust the screen's material is. I had tried earlier to apply a screen that came with my DLO skin, and it was a NIGHTMARE. 5-10 tries, and horrible amounts of bubbles each time. This product, on the other hand, practically FELL into place, with zero bubbles, on the first try. I was so surprised I actually took it off and did it AGAIN just to see if it was luck. It wasn't. I think it says something that even though I bought the wrong screen, I'm KEEPING it and feel no pressing need to go out an buy the RIGHT one anytime soon.
The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is that, as good as it is, I can't honestly say it's worth $16 (with tax). $11-$13 would have locked this in at 5 stars, no doubt about it.26 of 31 people found this useful

Okay Film
Written by SD from Colorado Springs
Mar 21, 2008
I recently bought this film and the crystal film set after I read the mixed reviews for both of them. I didn't have much of a problem getting the film on using the scotch tape method on both ends of the film mentioned in reviews for the crystal film. The one thing I didn't like about this film is that it gives the screen a "matte" type look. The screen isn't as bright and you can tell there is a cover on the phone. But it was great for not leaving any fingerprints or smudges. And the functionality of the screen is not decreased. So pretty much if you don't care that you can see a film on the phone and that the film takes a little away from the screen then this one is for you, if you do care about those things then the crystal film is the best bet.

Good cover
Written by AM from Sherwood
Mar 18, 2008
After I got my iPhone (being the neat freak I am) I realized I needed a cover for it that wouldnt create smears. I'm not a fan of finger prints or make-up on my phone. However, this film kept all of that off. I've had it for 3 months and it hasn't started peeling off or showing any signs of wear. My iPhone has been through quite some abuse and still has no scratches to the screen thanks to this. The ONE problem I have is sometimes it gets little crumbs or dirt stuck in the edges of it, but so does the iPhone itself because of the crease between the chrome and screen. So unless Apple fixes that, this is the best film you can get! :)

There is no doubt that this product is great. It provides protection for your screen and eliminates all finger prints. My only bone to pick is the price. $15 for two thin little pieces of plastic seems like a total rip off. I still reccommend it though.

A Must Have
Written by BW from BLOOMINGTON
Feb 2, 2008
I have had my iPhone for about a week. I saw these films online before even deciding to purchase the phone, so when I did get the phone I didn't even remove the plastic from the screen. I immediately ordered these from the Apple Store and waited about 3 days for them to arrive, that way there would be no cleaning before applying! :P With these films there are NO FINGERPRINTS!!! The screen seems to be just as responsive as it was with the factory applied plastic sticker cover so I am still happy. Also, I read someone's review that suggested applying scotch tape to the corners of the film before trying to apply to the phone, this way you have the tape to use as a handle. I took this wonderful advice and just basically was able to hover over the face of the phone until it appeared to line up and just dropped the film onto the screen. It is pretty amazing how it appears to liquify and adhere to the face of the phone. There are absolutely NO airbubbles and I think it has to do with the "tape and hover" method found in the other person's review!!! The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is because it does take away a bit of the crisp clarity of the screen...I would compare it to my laptop where you can get either that shiny glossy screen or the matte-finish screen....I am just a glossy shiny person so it does get 4 stars for being a matte finish (maybe the matte finish is why it doesn't get fingerprints though).

Good if you can get it on right. Takes a few tries!
Written by AW from Wheaton

This is kind of tricky to get on. Need to have very clean surface. I used a microfiber cleaning cloth to make sure the iPhone surface is dirt and smudge-free. Carefully hold film at edges and place it over the home button, then carefully lay the rest of it down. I used a credit card to smooth out all the air bubbles. No matter how good I get it on, I do notice little air bubbles creeping up at the corners. Oh well, it's the best option out there. This product can also be cleaned with a little warm water and re-used, so I think it's a good bet at $15.

No More Smudges
Written by CV from Clifton Park

I used the Crystal film for a few months. I was constantly wiping off the smudges from my face and fingers. I started using the anti-glare a few weeks ago. No more smudges. I do find some distortion when in a dark room. It looks like wavy lines when viewing text. Videos look good though.
I'll continue to use the anti-glare, and I would recommend it to anyone.60 of 63 people found this useful

What's not to like.
Written by DM from Fort Wayne

Are you reading this to help you decide whether or not to buy?
Buy. You get two of these things in the package. You peel it off the backing and place it on your phone. Simple. No more greasy smears and finger prints. The touchpad works with the same ease as before.
Why 4 stars instead of 5? I would have rated it higher if it had applied its self to my iPhone.6 of 7 people found this useful
