Anti-Glare Film
Film Review (Get it? "Film" Review! I crack me up.)
Written by MS from Middletown

The disadvantage of a touch screen is that you're constantly touching it. Maybe my fingers are excessively greasy, but my iPhone screen immediately became, and subsequently remained, filthy. Even when I finally broke down and cleaned it, it would remain clean only until the next time I used it, and then it would get a big smudge across the slider as soon as I unlocked it.
They should call this product an "anti-smudge" film. My fingers are as greasy as ever, but fingerprints don't show up on the film because it has a slightly rough texture. (It's the same texture as the trackpad on a MacBook, in case you're wondering what my idea of "slightly rough" is.)
It's also a little misleading to call it a "film". It's actually rigid, like a playing card, so it's not as hard to apply as some of the reviewers claim. If you make a mistake on the first attempt, you can peel it off, rinse it with water, and try again.
It makes the display imperceptibly dimmer, but that's a small price to pay for the degree of smudge- and scratch-protection that it provides. This accessory is an effective, inexpensive enhancement for your iPhone.26 of 29 people found this useful

The BEST!!!
Written by RI from ROCKFORD

I tried the crystal film first, and it is SUPER protective...dropped my iphone on concrete and chipped the film, my screen was unharmed. I decided to try the anti-glare next, and it really is so much better. Touching the screen is actually smoother! And there are no icky smudges all the time. It looks wonderful and it's much better using the touch screen.

Well worth it!!

I just applied the anti-glare film to my iPhone, and I'm extremely pleased. Great texture! Navigating my iPhone is now very similar to using the pad on my Macbook Pro, in terms of feel.
No fingerprints is a huge plus, and now I don't have to worry about scratching the screen if I'm wearing earrings or accidentally brush something against the phone.
I will say that when I first put it on and was poking around, the screen looks slightly grainy as a result of the film, but I believe this is just a matter of getting used to it. Color/contrast quality is unaffected, touch screen responsiveness is spot-on (possibly better now, thanks to improved traction), and the anti-glare definitely lives up to it's name. Just looking at the phone sitting on a table you'd never be able to tell the film is there.
Perfectionists may find applying the film to be slightly aggravating it doesn't fit the screen down to the nearest millimeter, but after a few tries I was able to align it to my liking, and the static-cling adhering makes it extremely easy to eliminate air bubbles.
Definitely worth the $15, if for no other reason than eliminating the fingerprints!!17 of 19 people found this useful

Freaking fantastic

What everyone else has said is correct. It eliminates glare and fingerprints, and if you ask me, it makes the touch screen *easier* to use, because your finger slides around more smoothly. It doesn't stick like it does on the straight glass. Why doesn't the iPhone come like this already?!?!

Best iPhone Product
Written by CR from Nashville

As you can see from my title this is by far the best thing you can buy for your phone. I use my phone outdoors all of the time and this film makes viewing in sunlight very easy. I applied this film to my phone right out of the box and have never touched the screen (I would recommend this because it makes application super easy). The film has an awesome tactile feel which actually provides greater response and sensitivity from the touch screen (great for you TM'ers and Email'ers). Buy this product and you will not regret it.

2 Months of Use Review: DEFINITELY WORTH IT
Written by JL from Suamico

1. You definitely need to go w/ the anti-glare over the regular films. The touch screen and interface work just the same with the film over it.
2. You get two sets per package. I just changed mine this morning (after two months), and when I took it off, there were SCRATCHES in the film among other smudges and marks, but the iPhone SCREEN WAS SPOTLESS. Obviously the film won't stop a brick from going through it, but it works GREAT FOR EVERYDAY WEAR AND TEAR.
3. Keys to getting the film on: make sure there is absolutely no smudges or dust on the screen (any microfiber cloth will do, but I also used iKlear apple polish) . Have a lot of light shining on the phone and go slow from one end to the other, and if you get bubbles, lightly lift it up from the end that's not on the phone yet, and use your other hand to come at the film from the other side, pushing it onto the phone.

I'm not a compulsive reviewer, but this product is so great that I have to say something. It's a little hard to get aligned while putting it on, though once it's on there, oh boy! It's fantastic! No more greasy smudges-well, within reason. (A glob of mayonnaise will still be a glob of mayonnaise.) Really, check this out. No, I'm not affiliated with the manufacturer.

here a couple tips folks
1. first, i took 3 cotton balls , used 2 of them to clean the screen with a bit of alcohol
2. used the third to wipe til dry
3. do not peel away the entire backing, apply the film from the BOTTOM, aligning the hole up, peel away the backing as u go.
took me all of five minutes for both iphones. prefect on the first try15 of 16 people found this useful

This is by far the best screen shield ever. It does not impede the view at all and gives a pleasent tactile response. The only negative is that it is hard to apply, but definitely worth the effort!

Takes away the clear glossy look...
Written by RV from New York

The anti-glare screen is good but the crystal film is better minus the smudges and fingerprints...this anti-glare takes away the clearness of the lcd and actually feel a bit grainy, making it look cloudy. The crystal film TMO is better and is like it states, crystal clear as if there was nothing there.

Worth Twice the Price...
Written by JE from Jersey City
Feb 17, 2008
So, yeah. Now that you've spent your hard-earned dollars on the iPhone, you have to protect the screen. Not that the protection is the best part at all, though. This film eliminates all the unsightly oils and smudges that accumulate from normal use. It actually helps you type because it's easier to get traction. The anti-glare is wonderful for using the device outside as well. I read a review that recommended using two strips of tape. The tape definitely did the trick. Just get two pieces of cellophane tape and put one on either side. It's very easy if you do this. Just make sure you've cleaned the screen with a lint-free cloth and I used a tiny bit of glass cleaner. Once, applied, sit and marvel at how you could actually improve an already fantastic device!

while i do love the fact that there is no smudge or print on my beloved iphone, the display causes a "grain" affect enought to the point of annoying.
i would like to try out the regular crystal ones instead
