Fine, as long as you don't use a cinema Display with your laptop.

    • Written by from Astoria

This is a good stand, Sturdy, well built and attractive. The little hole for routing cables in the back is useful: as long as you don't have a cinema display. The DVI connector for a cinema display (or any other display) will not fit through the hole in the back. This was disappointing, because the usb/firewire cables that are attached to the DVI connector of a cinema display are not long enough to permit the cinema cable to go through the side and the remaining cables to go underneath. This is a pretty serious design flaw, given that the photo of the stand in their packaging shows the stand being used with a Macbook Pro, next to a cinema display ... cables conspicuously absent from the photo.

    Great Stand!

    • Written by from Rancho Santa Margarita

This stand is sturdy and help circulate heat from my new MacBook Pro (15 in). I usually setup my new MacBook Pro on this stand along with wireless keyboard and mouse, just like having a mini desktop. My family use this stand a lot.

    Nice design but....

    • Written by from DIXON

The aluminum design is really nice, it matches the macbook. I ended up returning this product because the 6 inches increased in height was a little bit too much for me. It turns out that 3-4 inches is all I need. This would be perfect for me if it has an adjustable height.

    Too tall for me

    • Written by from Portland

I ordered this stand to help with desktop ergonomics -- all the recommendations say that the top of your display should be at eye level or below. Unfortunately this stand raised the top of my display to about 2" above eye level, which put a crimp in my neck within hours. It's well-made and fits the design of my MacBook Pro, but I sent it back. I recommend that prospective buyers measure your laptop's position flat on the desk, then add 6" to see if this will give the proper positioning for you.

    great, solid and sexy

    • Written by from MORNINGSIDE

I continually find myself crouching over my laptop like some old man, I bought this stand not just because it matches Apples designs so perfectly but importantly to get some elevation for my laptop and correct my lazy posture. I've had it two weeks and it's easily the best accessory I have ever bought. My laptop feels like it's floating in front of my eyes and there is valuable space under it to keep an external drive or keyboard. It is a lot more solid than I had anticipated - boy do I love this stand. My laptop feels like a new machine and I find it easier to work on. No regrets and the design quality is of a very high standard.

    Great design...few flaws

    • Written by from Burlington

Purchased this about a year ago...

    Pros:

    * sturdy/rock solid - your MacBook isn't going to move
    * As the stand is designed to have your macbook angled towards you the viewing angle is comfortable.
    * Flawless design when sitting next to any iMac/Cinema Display
    * Rubber sections on the stand that make sure you don't damage your Macbook.

    Cons:

    * It's not light so taking it anywhere is awkward

Overall this is a well thought out stand with attention to detail.

Gorgeous, Well-Made, and a great choice!

    • Written by from Astoria

Just got this stand today for my brand new MacBook Pro. I was hesitant because I could not find one on display in any Apple Store, but I liked the look of it and bought it anyway. And I am glad to say, it was a great choice. This is a really nice product. The craftsmanship is top-notch and it lives up to Apple's stunning unibody design. The height is just right and the no-slip pads and ledge along the front provide that critical sense of security. In fact, the design is so well-thought-out that the two no-slip pads along that front edge align perfectly with the sides of the thumb scoop on the front of the notebook. Quite nice.

I am very happy with this stand, and you will be too.

Elegant product & my neck feels better

    • Written by from San Diego

There are a lot of solutions out there to raise up your laptop for ergonomic use but let's face it, a lot of them are just ugly. I love the design of this one, it's unobtrusive and it looks like it came with my MacBook Pro. My bluetooth keyboard tucks underneath nicely for storage when not in use. It is well worth the price - I read enough reviews about cheaper versions falling apart or breaking to know this was the right one. Most importantly, my neck and back are no longer strained. The only drawback is that it's not easily portable - but it seems with other collapsable stands, those moving parts are what break. All in all, I love this product and am considering buying a second one for work.

    Perfect

    • Written by from Menasha

A simple design, yet one of the greatest things you will ever use
on a daily basis. A must buy if you spend a lot of time using
your MacBook or even to just check emails. I have the 15" MacBook Pro
& it works perfect even though it is "just a stand". I use the wireless
Apple mouse along with the wireless Apple keyboard (completly bypass the MacBook's Trackpad & keyboard). I get the benefit of a desktop setup along with the ease of mobility.

exactly what I was looking for

    • Written by from Santa Clara

For me the stand is what I wanted. No active cooling (fans). For me, I want to have some additional cooling, but not the noise that ultimately comes with another fan spinning on my desk. The stand is nice and solid. A good tilt to help with cooling. The final piece being the aesthetic fitting into the "apple" style.

    Pros ---
    - brushed aluminum
    - very solid construction
    - quality plastics and rubber components
    - provides good tilt to macbook for cooling
    - good macbook screen viewing height
    - no active cooling

    Cons ---
    - no active cooling
    - expensive for what you are getting

    Almost Perfect

    • Written by from San Diego

I love this stand. It does exactly what it is intended to do- raise the laptop to a comfortable level, decreases the laptop's footprint on a desk, and styled to match the MacBook Pro. I don't really recommend resting your hands on the laptop to type when using the stand. It's clearly designed to be paired up with an external keyboard and mouse. The only drawback for me was the price. The stand is too painfully simple to be 50 bucks. If Rain Design could knock the price down to under $40, I would give this stand 5 stars.

high quality - beautiful and durable

    • Written by from Whitethorn

This stand is a single piece of aluminum with pads on it to ensure the laptop stays in place. It raises my screen 7 inches (the height of the back of the stand). Coupled with the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, I've found a great and beautiful ergonomic solution.

This stand is by far one of the best things I have purchased. Combined with a external display side by side with your macbook, i can use both displays side by side and be much more productive. Definitely worth it.

    highly recommended

    • Written by from Suwanee

I never considered of getting this, then I accidentally got it as a gift.
I think it is highly practical especially if you spend plenty of time on your desk because this will rise your mac closer to the eye level, which made my neck and shoulder and the eye all comfortable.
Appearance is awesome especially exterior integrity along with your aluminum mac will make your desk beautiful and overall desk environment will be great.
Even though price is quite steep, I think it's worth buying it.

    Great Product!

This is the best stand I have found. It's sturdy and has a hole for cable management. The best part is it has a lip to hold the laptop in place. Many other stands do not have this feature. The product was so well received that it's now a standard at our company.

    Nice

    • Written by from Ames

I looked at several of the stands here for a MacBook Pro17. This one didn't disappoint. A single curved piece of thick aluminum, its stylish and functional. Allows an accessory keyboard to be stuck out of the way (into the curve). But that curve in the aluminum (with no bracing) means its somewhat spring-like. When you hit your desk or work surface, it bounces a little (like any spring). Other than that, the pads are thick, the quality is good and it was worth the money.

    Great Stand

    • Written by from Ft Lauderdale

To everyone that has given this stand a bad review because it "shakes when you type" This stand is designed to be used with an external keyboard and mouse. It is not designed for you to be using the on-board keyboard/mouse. Do a little more research about laptop stands before making your purchase and then writing a negative review about something that wasn't deigned to do what you thought it did because you don't understand the purpose of a laptop stand.
