Sims Life Stories
Not what I expected

Bad points - The amount of money spent on this new Sims2 game was not really worth it. I am disappointed with this game, as I finished Riley's story in 3 days, and I was not playing all day and night, just a few hours over the 3 days after I got it. You can't use any of your expansion packs like pets, open for business, or university in Life stories, I thought that was disappointing as well.
Good points - I liked the concept of a story driven game, but it's so easy to play and then it's over so quick. I played the game at 1680 x 1050 on my intel imac and I was still able to run msn, outlook, and other programs all at the same time. I thought this was very convenient compared to the normal version of Sims2. The story is interesting and fun.
Overall - It's fun for a short time if you want to spend the $50 bucks. If you have the console version I would stick with that and play the normal Sims2 on your mac.325 of 497 people found this useful

My parents always let me buy whatever sims game and I know alought. You can do the storie with Riley and you have to choose who he marries.Once your done the stories you can almost do anything, make a family, create your house pick your job.It is soooooo fun. This product may say "No @#$%^&* Themes" but it doesn't it just blurrs out them having showers and toilet issues. Also you only can adopt wich I think is beautiful. Okay

THE SIMS LIFE STORIES = The Sims 2.5... runs using the Sims 2 engine but requires less system resources. but IT IS NOT Sims 2..
Bought this game for my MB Black. Even though it says notebook friendly, its not really that notebook friendly, esp with Intel GMA 950 video chipset. I have it running 800x600 with every setting medium, even though itll run smoothly, there will be some problems. e.g: when creating a sim the floor will be black and when buying countertops the counter top along with the counter will be black.
pluses is that it runs in a 800x600 windowed mode where it will allow you to do anything you want when you play Sims. but since its relatively small compared to the MBs native resolution you'll probably have to squint or sit really close to your laptop.

Sims Life Stories
Great game
Written by CE from Weldon Spring

I bought this game for my macbook because my PC went out and I will be going away for school soon and I wanted to have something to do between papers.
I was skeptical at first to purchase it because the focus of the game was on the stories of game created sims and not your own. I was pleased after i installed this product to find there was still an "free play" mode where you could build your own sims, along with the two story modes, which are also enjoyable.
I was surprised to see that so many of the features from the Sims 2 remained in the game! There are also some items and furniture in life stories you don't get in the sims 2. Plus, there is very little lag, unlike its big brother, the Sims 2 and it doesn't take up the whole screen so you can continue doing other things during the game.
Downsides are that it doesn't work with your expansion packs, so your "goods" are limited to what you install. The stories are also fairly short and take a day or so to pick up and really get interesting.
Other then that i love it and would recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of the sims, or just looking for a good game to kill some time with.115 of 185 people found this useful

Simexcellence - Runs great!

When I found out my Sims 2 ran poorly on my new intel mac I was dissappointed - so I tried Life Stories. This is great! It is just like playing Sims 2 in Free Play mode, and the Story mode has interesting twists. It has aspects of the expansion packs for the original Sims 2, and rekindled my interest in the Sims. You can apply behavior modifications and custom objects just like in Sims 2, though the game doesn't run fast with a lot of custom objects (over 50, and high-resolution objects). The object catalogue is slimmed down a lot, but it gives a full gaming experience, and you can't underestimate the value of windowed mode. A definately reccommended game!

I'm new to the Sims on Mac and must say that this is very entertaining. It's pure fun! I would say buy this game if you're starting off new to the Sims and especially on a Mac. You'll enjoy it! It's worth the price!
