Fun! for the time being

When i bought this game, it was a lot of fun. The new rides and attractions were cool, and the pools and water slides were awesome! i made parks that Disney World would look at with jealousy!
Then, 3 months after i bought it, there were problems. For a little while, the park i went to the most started to stall at awkward moments, and the only way to get out of the screensaver was to shut down the computer. Making you lose a ton of data. Then a month later, the game wouldn't let me go on at all! I clicked on it and it would exit to my desktop.
Now, the game's great, but there are still a couple of bugs to work out.9 of 12 people found this useful

Great Expansion Pack

I purchased this after having almost completed the original RCT 3 ~ and was able to complete all the missions after I got the new addition to the game. I also really enjoyed the new missions and goals on Soaked, although it did not take me as long to complete them (I wish there were more).
I have an older PowerBook G4 (about 4-5 old now) and the game runs pretty well. Yes, it does quit from time to time, but as long as you save, its really not that big of a deal. I did find that having a fan under the laptop keep the temp. way down and I think I've had fewer crashes since using a fan (but I'm not positive).

When I installed this onto my mac, neither RCT3 nor this expansion would work at all. Still waiting on a patch.

I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas not realizing that it was an expansion pack to the original game, NOT a stand alone game. I now have to order the Roller Coaster 3 game so she can even play the game. I wish that the details would have indicated this to begin with. She has played the game at a friend's house on a PC so I knew she would enjoy it, but now she will have to wait to play till I get the game ordered for the MAC and receive it.

I'm sorry but what is all the fuss about, i just got this expansion, ive ha dthe original RCT3 for about a year now and what can i say!
The graphics are great on My Mac Book Pro, it is definately a great buy, brilliant add on to an already brilliant Game!
Anyone complaining should get a new computer!

I really love the game, the water is even more fun than the roller coasters but i can't play it anymore. The first months it crashed a few times but now i can barely save the game let alone play it, crashing all the time.

Fun while it lasts...

Like anything with the Roller Coaster Tycoon Series great pleasure comes with great sacrifice.
Pros:
Excellent game - fun new additions, rides, attractions - enough to say that the product is "worth the price". The water park section is a boatload of fun.
Cons:
Like with its base model - RCT 3, the game without warning crashes. This is by all means not an isolated instance, Aspyr still does not have a handle on the cause, and could really put a damper in your gameplay. Happens on my following 3 systems: 12" powerbook Power PC; Macbook Pro Core Duo; iMac Core 2 Duo - needless to say with the other reviews, this crashing is FAR from isolated to a few people.
Suggestion - if you love RCT and the RCT series - buy it, just save every 10 minutes!29 of 49 people found this useful

Does not work with new iMac

This game is one of my favorites--I played it on my white G5 iMac all day. The other day I got a 24in new iMac and loaded it up only to find that it does not work--the graphics are a complete disaster. I would highly suggest this game--just not on a new iMac until some sort of patch for the video card/game is released.

THIS GAME IS FUN BUT ONLY FOR THE FIRST FEW MONTHS. ITS SUPER EASY TO PLAY EXCEPT AFTER ABOUT TWO MONTHS WHEN YOU START TO LOAD A GAME IT CLOSES ON YOU. PLUS THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON MY OLD WINDOWS. NOW IM NOT BLAMING APPLE BUT I WILL SAY THE GAME MAKERS COULD DO A LITTLE BETTER.
