Great when it's smooth

I'm running on this on a 2.8 Ghz 24" iMac with 4gb of RAM and the Radeon 2600HD video card. It's a great game when things are going well, but it gets extremely choppy from time to time. Apparently the choppiness affects both the visual output and the response to input, because gameplay gets really inconsistent. Turning off shadows in the game settings seemed to help. If you mess around with the detailed graphics settings, you'll be able to get some decent results, but that really shouldn't be necessary.
For what it's worth, I ran Tiger Woods 07 through boot camp with Vista on this same computer and it works a TON better. Poor Mac programming, EA!43 of 80 people found this useful

Not Bad - But Differing Results

Received for a holiday gift. Installed on my MBP C2D 15" and used an external Mighty Mouse - game ran nearly perfectly. Now back home and installed on my 20" iMac C2D (purchased just prior to aluminum debut) and it is very choppy at times with some graphics corruption. Not nearly as enjoyable and very strange as the processor, ram and graphics on the MBP and iMac are identical. Heck, the iMac should be better due to a faster HD....
Must say that prior to converting to macs from PC's I played TW06 with XP and had stutters and such al the time. I think EA needs a good kick in the pants on this title.68 of 128 people found this useful

works pretty good

the game is working pretty good for me...intel imac 1 gb ram...there does appear to be some sound issues...ambient sounds come and go...no announcer comments during tiger challenge play unlike x-box version...and no apparent support for a gamepad, at least no option I could find (and the logitech rumblepad 2 gamepad I have works flawlessly with Madden)
Personally amazed by the differences in the game between the pc/mac version and the x-box version...tiger challenge while similar in principle involves totally different challenges/characters and the skills training is totally different as well...why a company would create a product so different across platforms boggles the mind
the gameface feature is neat
the game only looks so-so...pales in comparison to the old links championship series but the trees are 3-d...very limited graphics settings and the grid for putting does not appear to be adjustable so you are really guessing on putts longer than 10 feet (previous golf sim experience really helps here)...
looks like some features/adjustments were simply left out...also occassionally get keyboard issues noted in read-me...manual is a manual in name only...pretty useless...especially in reference to gamepad controls which game doesn't support...also have to laugh at EA for not including, as of today's date, a drop down menu choice for Mac when you try and register the game...makes you wonder about their committment to Mac when you can't register with them
personally, glad to be golfing on the Mac again...but wish EA had done a more thorough job6 of 11 people found this useful
