I am running Leopard. Once I got past a small installation issue (my fault) the game installed easily.
I got the resolution set for my 24" imac and played the game.
It's a blast ! Really good graphics and gameplay.
The only trouble is you have to stop some time!

Why do I have to give it ANY stars. I figure the only people giving it five stars actually work for EA and trying to recover from this pathetic game. It won't work on my new macbook and won't work on my imac. I thought Apple was on the cutting edge but obviously not. Been working too long getting the iphone ready, I guess.

The game doesn't work with this "GREAT" graphics card update.

I'll stick with the game on my $100 PS2.

ok so i complained about this product a while ago and then i got leopard. leopard fixes all of the problems with it or at least for me and i had quite a few. i also recommend rezizing the format to a window. you can ask EA support on this topic. If you dont have leopard then their will be an update later hopefully this month. and to the guy complaining about apple and steve jobs, it wasnt their fault.... well completely. EA had not tested it well enough. apple didnt make the game so they arent responsible for testing. thought i might cue you in on that. so i am running a brand new iMac 24inch and i am playing at full resolution and on the highest graphics setting.

Now for the game itself.
It plays pretty good. its difficult at first and i still have not mastered it. the graphics are ok not as good as they should be for a 2000$ system but its fun and addicting at times. there are still some glitches in the game that should soon be resolved.

the final word on this product from me is that EA should have worked harder on the mac version but for a PC game its not bad. to bad im not running it on PC

Don't bother!

Just got Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 and am attempting to run it on my MacBook Pro 2.33GHz w/ 3GB RAM. The game is slow to load (7min) and hangs all the time mid game. When it does allow me to play it looks OK, not great,with choppy graphics and less than perfect flow but the load time and the hanging in mid game are just unthinkable, making this game unplayable and not worth the money. All in all I'd say don't expect much from this game. Very disappointed.

I love the game. Then I purchased a Logitech Dual Game Pad that does not work on my Mac. What's up with that?

I bought this game, brought it home all excited, installed the game, created my player, selected to play the PGA season, GAME CRASHED!!!! What is really stupid is the computer I installed it on in 1 month old!!!!! It cant out-date that fast!!! would not buy the game unless you have $6000 to put into a computer. for me and my measly $1300 its not worth it.

I simply feel a bit better to hear that everybody else have the same problem.

EA Games says on support pages that the issue is known and adressed by a system update later this month (october). I would like to see this soon.

RUNS WELL IF...

Ok, it seems clear enough that many of the problems we’re hearing about is a result of the latest ATI video card available in the new iMac. When my copy arrived I reluctantly opened it (who can send an unopened golf game back?!?!) I’m using a first gen 2Ghz MBP with 1GB ram and ATI Radeon X1600 with 256MB SDRAM.

Overall, this game runs great! There are some sound issues (no announcers) and occasionally it will exit to the desktop when accessing the online play menu. It is a bit ”buggy” and certainly has the “windows” feel but if your hardware will actually let you get to the first tee, it runs well. So, what to do…

Well, I can certainly empathize with the new iMac users- EA support is weak to nil. We have what, 2-3 hardware configurations? How can they get this wrong? I believe they’ve at least acknowledged a problem and hopefully a video driver update is in the works.

If you have an older machine, I would roll the dice. I’m happy I did.

Feezes

I have a Mac Pro (2.66 dual) with 5gigs of RAM and an ATI Radeon X1900 XT.

I can play the first round of a tournament and then can no longer move onto the second or third rounds as the program feezes in the console.

EA tech support has not been much help

BOUGHT GAME PLAYED FOR 20 MINUTES LOCKED UP MY 4000 DOLLAR MACBOOK PRO 2.4 4 G OF MEMORY RESTARTED COMPUTER WOULD NOT RUN ERASED AND REINSTALLED PLAYED AGAIN FOR 25 MINUTES LOCKED UP AGAIN DID THIS 10 TIMES ATLEAST SEEMS LIKE COMPUTER GETS TOO HOT CAUSING VIDEO CARD TO FREEZE UP LOVE THE GAME UNTIL THIS HAPPENS APPLE SHOULD HAVE TESTED THE GAME FOR HOURS BEFORE RELEASING TO THE PUBLIC IM PUTTING THE BLAME ON THE HEAT ISSUES OF THE MACBOOK PRO PURCHASED IN AUGUST 07 IF THIS GAME LOCKS UP MY SYSTEM CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT A GAME THAT PUSHES THE GRAPHICS CARD TO ITS LIMITS WILL DO SORRY STEVE YOUR MACBOOK PRO BITES GET A JOBB

Good Overall

I bought this game just a few days ago and I have not been able to stop playing it. I'm not really sure why everyone is having problems but I have not encountered any problems as of yet. I am running the game on a 17" MacBook Pro with two gigs of ram and a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo. The game looks great and runs smoothly. Does heat up the computer rapidly so I highly recommend getting something to boost your fan performance like SMCfan control which works great. Other than that I expected the graphics to be a little more realistic but the gameplay is addictive and realistic. Great courses as well.

I have an original MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz 2G RAM and the game worked flawlessly. After I made my own profile, my 8-year old son recognized me as the golfer on the screen! I have yet to break 100, but I have played only a few games and tried a few shots. Love it so far!

No external monitor support

I'm running a MBP (2.0 ghz, 2gb ram, 128mvram), and a 30" Apple Cinema Display. The game does not support the 2560x1600 resolution of my cinema display, which is absolutely terrible. On the cinema display, it will allow me to play at 1280x800 and on my laptop screen it will let me play at full resolution. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY AT FULL RESOLUTION ON MY EXTERNAL MONITOR. This is ridiculous. Game is good, besides the display problems. Hopefully they will sort this out in a future update.

I have a brand new Imac. It crashes as soon as I try to start a game. I also have a one
year old laptop, and the game does not work with its video card.

I bought this game because of a promotional email from Apple.
Apple should not promote a product which obviously does not
work.

I was looking forward to this on my new 24" imac and seem to be having the same lock up problems as everyone else. All I want is a little winter golf. I'm not a big game player so it will be a long time before I would buy another. Apple please stop selling this and let EA fend for itself.

I guess my hopes for this game were way to high. The game wont start using the built in drive of my MBP, I have to use an external firewire disk drive. I am using a MBP with 2.33 and 2g and the game looks like crud. I have played this game for the PS2 and compared to that... it looks nasty. Sounds nasty too. Sure wish I could get my money back...
