    Not Bad

    Written by DP from Quesnel

This game runs good on my new mac book. I haven't tried it online yet. I think
the graphics could be better. Other than that have had no troubles with the game.
Has worked great so far. Fingers crossed

    Gather ye rosebuds...

This will be the LAST EVER release of Madden for Mac, PC or laptop, with Madden '09 they are going all console, all the time. That said, it plays great on my MacBook Pro 17", widescreen looks great, and got the Logitech controller, since keyboard play is impossible, quite frankly. I play the game a lot both solo and online. I'm terrible at it, and not getting much better, but that's because I'm an old duffer with not a lot of spare time at the moment to work on my skillz. Still it's an addictive game, and this version will be the end of the road, which is ironic, since with this title the Mac finally became competitive in the games arena with Windoze.

    Finally!!!

    Written by RS from Chicago

    Dec 28, 2007

I have been waiting for Madden to finally return to the Mac platform and I am happy to say that I am not disappointed. The graphics are superb and the gameplay is as to be expected from the Madden series. I only had one little graphics slowdown during games where it was raining. I had the weird menu problem but the update from the website fixed it. As to the problems other people are reporting I am baffled. This game runs perfectly on my 17" MBP with 2 GB of RAM and 2.16 GhZ processor.

it was bad but now it's great!

i was one of many people that had issues with the game. i waited for an update so that the program would work and i eventually found it on an obscure site.

now that it works i'm very happy with the product, great graphics, game play. i haven't tested it out on-line but within franchise mode everything is working very well.

apart from the delays and hard to find updates, i'm very happy with the end product.

EA has released a new patch

It looks like EA has released a patch for the game. This should fix any existing issues. It's a simple download from their ftp site:

Stop trying to make water into wine!

Hey my Madden 08 has been working just fine and I play it on my iMac core duo with 1g of RAM and the entry level video card. My text is fine. My helmets are fine. Just have a better understanding that as an early adopter of this new EA software it may not be the big cats meow, but they are working towards that. This game serves its purpose for 40 bucks. If you're a Madden Stan go out and pay the $300 for the Xbox and $60 for the game and leave you Mac out of it!

    Works fine for me...

    Written by KS from Germantown

I'm sure all the bad reviews are valid, but to be honest, it works fine on my 17 in. MacBook Pro. (2.4 gHz Core 2 Duo, 4 gb RAM, 7200 RPM HD). I'm currently using Leopard, in fact it's the first thing I installed after switching to 10.5. I'm not too crazy about the menus, they aren't widescreen, but the actual game is. I have the video settings quite high and the game looks just as good as my PC version.

    Good for football fans.

I never owned a Madden game prior to this, but I do follow and enjoy football. To me, this game is exactly what i wanted to kill time and enjoy myself playing some footbal.. I run a Core 2 Duo 2.16 ghz iMac with 2 GB RAM and a 256MB x1600. Everything is smooth and I have no problem loading or exiting the game. The menus are visible and the game is pretty fun to play. The graphics is solid and the music is pretty good.

The problem I have is that I don't know where to go to update my client so that I can play online. It tells me to go back to launcher menu and click update, but I can't find the update function anywhere!

Other than that, the purchase is well worth it. Its nox as good looking as xbox 360, but this game was made specifically for that console, believe it or not.

Looks Great! but Game Pad controller bug

    Written by JF from boone

    Oct 19, 2007

Glad to see Madden come over to the good side.
It locked up the first time I started it. After one reboot game play is great.
Running on Mac Pro 2.6 ATI Radeon X1900 XT. GFX are great. Menus and everything look great. All options high running at highest res. Only problem I have found is one bug. After thinking I got 2 new DOA Mad Catz game controllers I realized there is a bug that behaves like there is a stuck joystick in the up position. These joysticks work in other games. Still fun to play with the Keyboard!
    Peace

    I must be lucky

    Written by DH from Cary

I wonder if I am the only one who hasn't had any problems with text? To me the game has been great so far, I haven't had any problems with graphics/audio etc. My one and only problem is with online play: It doesn't seem to exist. When I try to connect, it tells me that I have an out of date version and it needs to be updated. It says to click a phantom Update button that does not exist anywhere. It also says you can download it manually by going to ea.easports.com but there is nothing whatsoever on the EA Sports website.

I consider myself lucky that I'm not experiencing any of the other problems reported so far. I actually enjoy the game and think that the graphics are solid. I'm using a 15" 2.33ghz MBP with 3gb RAM if anyone was wondering.

    works fine & gamepad suggestion

    Written by DS

    Oct 19, 2007

intel imac with 1 gb of ram...after turning down the video detail settings for crowds and other less important images the game works fine for me...have played complete games and begun a franchise without any issues...the drop down menu's and all graphics are clear and legible unlike reports by others..

i had bought a universal pc/mac gamepad from wal-mart called "game elements" by gemini that produced effect reported by others...auto non-stop scrolling thru meus...picked up a logitech rumblepad 2 (cordless) which worked as soon as i plugged it in..this is a slightly older model I picked up new for $55 cdn...high quality but slightly heavy...but it works...Tiger 08 btw does not appear to support gamepad play

    not bad

    Written by DW from Fresno

I have the last generation G5 and the minimum operating requirements, and the game works perfectly. No jumbled words, no problems registering either. The graphics are so so but the player intelligence is a thousand times better than in previous titles. Im very happy that i purchased it! My only complaint is Vince Young on the cover...
