Written by SS from Irving

An excellent game and first person shooter. Its a rare gem. A true work of art. The story is one of a kind literally. You will find yourself getting caught up and seeking revenge and then some. Speed, skill and smarts are a must. I hope the sequel comes out asap.

Works on the latest MacBook GMA X3100
Written by BC from Elk Grove

That's right, it's not a trick! A X3100 powered MacBook (with a decent amount of memory 2GB or more should do) did run the demo off MacGameFiles and prompted me to purchase the full game. The MacBook won't run it the fastest of the Apple hardware line, but just fast enough to be acceptable to me. Overall, it's quite impressive to see a graphics part that is regarded as "useless", be able to properly render a game like Prey. Things do get a bit hairy in fast action sequences, but catches up rather well.
If in doubt, give the demo a shot.14 of 17 people found this useful

I played this game on a 1.25ghz eMac mirrored on to my tv and it ran great
Written by JS

The requirements to run this game is much lower than suggested, I was able to play it on my 1.25ghz eMac, not modified, just fine at a low and medium guality settings, but of course sluggish when I set it to higher qualities. I was even able to mirror it to my T.V. too; however, when I did, it would show up in black and white on my T.V. but still ran just fine. Funny thing though It did the same thing with Halo, but only when in full screen mode and on it's highest settings. Never the less this game was worth the buy.

CRASH/CRASH
Written by JB from MONTGOMERY

I don't know what is up with this. I love it and think it is the coolest game I have yet to play until it crashes. I have a Mac Pro with dual intel 3 gigahertz processors and 2 gigs of ram, so requirements should not be the problem. I did buy and install right after leopard and I am thinking aspyr needs another update or something. Is anyone else having this problem in Leopard?

Great game, new spin on things
Written by JM from Novi

Definitely an interesting spin when you look at other FPS games that are so cookie cutter in style.
The best part was that I tried out the Quake 4 demo and figured if it worked, the Prey demo should work. Contrary to the warning on the download site that is linked off of Aspyr's site, the game runs fine with the MacBook Intel GMA 950 video cards.
I have a 2 GHz MacBook C2D with 1GB RAM/80GB HD/SuperDrive and it ran fine on Medium settings. I figured High would cause a bit too much lag for my liking just like Quake 4 did. The graphics still look great on Medium and the game runs quite smooth so it's not a big deal. The demo made me want to purchase this game.131 of 255 people found this useful

Does not work with 24" iMac

This game ran great on the 20" iMac, but when I switched to the 24" iMac it quit running. After calling support they said the video card in my iMac wasn't supported...

Prey
Great graphics, but limited story.
Written by RK from Highlands Ranch

This game has some of the best graphics to date for first-person shooters. The gravity changes are quite surprising (in a good way), though they can make you queasy if you sit too close to the monitor -- and I think this is impressive. My only complaint is that the story is weak. This immature doofus of a hero is only interested in "finding Jen" (which he says over and over again) until, at a critical moment in the game (which I won't spoil), he decides he's ready to be a leader now. Yawn! Maybe they'll be more original in a sequel...

Prey
Wow. I mean... wow!
Written by BM from Encinitas

One up on Doom III for sure. If you've been waiting for a good FPS game since the Ultimate Doom and Duke 3D days, then this is it. Take the humor from 3D Realms, the horrifying graphics from ID, a great story, and then add a revolutionary style of game play and you have Prey. Believe it or not, I'm actually able to play Prey on my MacBook (2GHz Core Duo, 512MB, Intel GMA950)!!! Bad frame rate... but, still! Not to worry, I also have a Mac Pro to play it on.
