The Sims 2: Pets
Game play improves with more build features.

Thank goodness for more Outdoor Parks and Recreation lots.
Think of this as a new CAREER TRACK for those, who just enjoy interaction between creatures. Social Interaction, Point Scoring, and General Enrichment to experience.
Some things I would of asked the producers - is why they didn't put enough love with keeping the parrots life span more real. This particular creature could of had much more chances to help educate players to what birds can do.20 of 28 people found this useful

Parrots live longer than dogs
Written by CB from Jonen

I bought this add-on because i love animals - specifically parrots and was somewhat disappointed that little attention was given to these very long living animals. In fact they seem to die out very quickly in this game, which is frustrating! Wish they would have been given the same status as cats and dogs.
Otherwise I enjoy this add-on.161 of 291 people found this useful

The Sims 2: Pets
So-so...
Written by JH from Redlands

I love the Sims 2. And when this game came out i was SO excited...but i found myself slightly disappointed. The idea of having cats and dogs is great and it adds a great element to the game (graphics are excellent as well). But, i think the Pet thing may have been taken a little too far. Once you start playing, you will notice, there are pets EVERYWHERE. They are downtown. At a community lot constantly. There seems to ALWAYS be a stray animal in your yard tearing up things and destroying furniture. They always attack and get in the way. I just wish there was a way to turn the 'pet aspect' down or if they had just lessened it from the beginning. It really is a good game and i have fun with it, but honestly it was taken too far.

The Sims 2: Pets
Cats & Dogs oh yeah
Written by LB from Anchorage

I love cats and dogs . . oh yeah! This is so much fun. I bought it and the first day I lost track of time . tick tock . the entire day flu by. I loved creating my own pets and then seeing what their babies would look like. The only thing I didn't care about this was I couldn't tell the pets what to do. I think it would have been more fun if i would have told the animal to lick the babies face or guard the house. I love that the baby could cuddle with the pets. There are many challenges as you play this game that you will find in the amount of pets verse the amount of babies you can have with the ratio of skills met...boy that one way fun. No matter what you do and how you play this game it is a blast. I am looking forward to going to the pet store to buying other pets. I saw hampsters, parrots and lizards in there..... I hope we can buy them too. I would have loved it if they had horses. Maybe they could come up with an expansion pack with that. Living with a horse in my back yard would be so awesome. The tricky part is saddling it up and ridding it. Now that I would love to do in this game. This reminds me of being a kid again and playing with my dolls. Now they can actually play back and I'm loving every moment of it. I appreciate your bringing all this to the world of MAC. THANK YOU!

A good buy

This game was really good at first, but after a while the excitement of pets wore off. Plus, the cost of the pet supplies didn't help. But, it's still worth the buy! Does anyone know when Seasons is coming out for Mac?

The Sims 2: Pets
It's an Amazing Game!
Written by KL from Milan

The Sims 2 Pets allows you to create Sims and they age. But now you can also create or adopt pets for your Sims! The pets, like Sims, are so customizable, I think you can even create custom content for them. You get to pick their food dishes and where they sleep. You buy them toys, too! You can train the pets, and you can buy a bird which you can teach to talk. But from personal experience, don't buy a cat and a bird in the same house! Overall if you like to be creative, I'd definately buy The Sims 2: Pets! But just DON'T forget to buy Sims 2 the base game ;-)
