There's just something about the historical nature of the games that makes in appealing.

Not to mention the graphics (please remember this is a ’05 game)

A real story-line (24-mission campaign)
Graphics as mentioned
Superb multiplayer experience
You can play over and over - forget about it for a year and experience it all again!!! (had to buy 3 copies already)
+Cheats, making it possible to play “SimCity”-style

an awesome strategy game, which you can spend months on it.
runs great on my macbook aluminum.
the new home city sys is awesome too. i'm lv 25 now.

Great game! Home city thing is kinda cool, shipments from the home city help out A LOT!

Other than that, it's an overall great game, with a very good and entertaining story to go along with it. I played it all the way through without cheats, then played it all the way through with cheats! It's great!

This is a great improvement on AE II. Better graphics and faster movement as well. If you liked AE II you have to get this! I have not had any problems with this game since I bought it. It runs well and has provided hours and hours of fun. Great choice of civilazations to choose from. Better than AE II by far!

This is one of the beast games in the ever extending mac library. it plays very smoothly and has almost awesome graphics. the story mode is by far the best of all three age of empires games, featuring over 7 hrs of engaging game play full of plot twists and rich with dialogue . i give it 5 stars.

i have an imac and this game runs vary well. if you liked AOE 2 you will love the 3rd
the online play on this game is one of the best for the computer, it has one of the best online play in computer game history.

Run well on macbook w/o graphic card

If you are wondering, this game is, in my opinion, the best game to run on the macbook version that has no indepedent graphic card. I guess it runs even better on the new macbook, but if you are looking for a nice game to play on your macbook without having to upgrade, I highly recommend AOE3. With the correct settings, I don't experience any lag, even during epic battles as you enjoy them!

the game takes place around the time of world exploration were people were fighting for and so basically over all 5 star. it was great for those who like mind powering strategic games get this one

Simply Amazing

I got hooked just by playing the demo. I realized I was hooked after I looked up at the clock and three hours had passed. This game has stunning visual effects and easy to use controls. I have never played any of the AOE's and had no problem easily playing this one.

If you're looking for a great game, this is it.

This is a great game and everything i hoped for!
I have had lots of fun building my armies to huge sizes and having full out war with the suronding tarritory,
(dont worry i wont do that for real.)

Pure Amazing

This game, was an obvious must-buy for me. It should be for all AOE fans. To start off, the campaign is amazing! There is a story, killer graphics, and even new weapons/buildings.etc. Did I mention the graphics? I placed it on my iMac and on my MacBook, they were both very good. The MacBook, usually doesn't provide as well for games, but it did for this game! MUST BUY!

this game is great. it has stunning graphs, controllable camera, great battles , great sounds, and the fact of many different strategy's. you can control 8 Civs, all explorers and claimers of the new world. there is the introduction of trading posts and native villages, both of which provide resources, Techs, and units. best RTS of the decade! maybe even ever! a must get! only a little pricy...

this game will keep you entertained for hours. the graphics are very detailed. the game gives you so much freedom and control over how you will create your your society. buy the game and you wont regret it!

This is no doubt one of the best games that I have ever played and it runs beautifully on my 2.4 ghz standard macbook and on my mac pro fully loaded and with 2 30" displays, I won't start. The game has a flawless interface so far but has a slightly longer load than other games of this genre. I have not found any bugs yet but the only drawback that would stop someone from buying this is if you want lasers and plasma cannons instead of Howitzers and cavalry. Also, because this game is so cheap I play it with my brother all the time.
