Awesome Speakers, Great Customer Serivce From Bose!

    • Written by from Boulder

These speakers put out an amazing sound for their size. The bass is never distorted, and the trebles come through with amazing clarity. I also had a pair of these die on me 4 months after their year warranty expired, and Bose sent me a brand new pair, no questions asked! Best computer/desktop speakers on the market!

    Very Disappointed!

    • Written by from Chicago

I bought these pair of speakers to replace my old Roland speakers that I bought five years ago. I received them today and I already packed them back for a return. The quality of the sound did not meet the expectations at all. Furthermore, the quality is way down below the quality of a couple of average speakers that would sell for $30.00 (and this sells for $99!!!)- With some particular music, the sound was delivered like in waves, coming in and back randomly. I could not understand or figure out why, At less than 50% of the volume, these speakers are a joke. To start getting something our of them, you need to use more than 50% of the volume. And still, the sound is not impressive at all. I was comparing them with my old Roland, and my Roland deliver much more than this at 25% of their power. I was using my desktop and my laptop at the same time with the same exact song to see the difference, and I am confident that these Bose speakers are not good at all. So back to the box, and I am enjoying my Roland speakers again. I am NOT recomending this to absolutely anybody. They are extremely overpriced and they do NOT deliver what they were supposed to. Thanks for reading.

    Best speakers under $100.

    • Written by from San Jose

Best speakers under $100, sound is crisp and overall range is very reasonable. I don't like clunky sub woofers, and these are space savers. Place it close to walls, you will get better bass response. One bad thing about them is that you can't turn them off, so your cell phone signal will cause distortion.

I think these are a buy. You can use them on your mac or attached them to your hd tv. Great sound. One draw back I wish that the cord was longer. These are a buy.

    A WASTE OF MONEY

    • Written by from Salt Lake City

I purchased these because we have a Bose stereo system in our car that we love. From the start, I was disappointed in the speakers. They didn't really sound any better than our cheap $29 computer speakers. Then, the other day, I went to use them and after 3 months, they are no longer working at all. I expected more from Bose.

A tiny cat with a BIG ROAR!

    • Written by from Charles City

When you see the size of these speakers you wont think much until you plug them in. You will be blown away! You'll probably be thinking were the noise is coming from. Well, Its the speakers! When listening to music you will feel the beats and when watching movies you may just feel like you are in it. I offend tend to look behind me when it was just a noise in the movie. They may be cheap speakers, They may be small small speakers, but the hearing is believing!

    Lots of bass

    • Written by from Valley Village

These speakers seem to have a lot more bass when connected to a Mac than when
connected to a PC. The sound is incredible though. iTunes has an equalizer which I use to reduce the bass to my taste, so all is great.

    Bose vs. Klipsch

    • Written by

I read BS's review from Jan 18th. BS told us we are better off with good sound quality speakers from B&W, Klipsch, KEF or Jamo. I took that advice and I checked into Klipsch and eventually purchased the Groove PM20's. However, when I actually heard the Bose Companion 2 at a store, they sounded even greater than the Klipsch's. I had them put side by side at home and noticed the following. The Klipsch's provides for bass control, which Bose doesn't have. The Klipsch's had more base. However, when I asked myself which played so that I can truly appreciate the entire sound of the song I was playing, I chose Bose. Can't explain it, but the Bose just sounded more natural. And BS is right in generally saying that Bose is notorious for not producing their specs and graphs. I got a very long response from them when I approached them about it.

    To all the haters

    • Written by from Bowling Green

It irks me to read reviews by people who are just sometimes ignorant. OH boo hoo you have to actually adjust the EQ in iTunes. Um pretty sure that is why it is there. Plus to all those who complain that these speakers distort when you turn them up loud, um DUH these are not Stereo Speakers they are to get better sound than your .5 inch laptop speakers. You want Theater quality sound buy theater speakers. If you bass is muffling your treble, turn the bass down or buy a set of speakers with a subwoofer. C'mon. Bose makes a quality product, its just stupid lazy people who cannot use them properly.

A Lot Of Kick For Such Little Speakers!!!

    • Written by from Jamaica Plain

I bought these for my macbook pro, and they sound excellent. They're a bit heavy on the bass, but that can easily be adjusted by the eq. They really have a nice rich full sound. I highly recommend these!!!

    Yup... great buy.

    • Written by from Burlington

Well i got these at best buy for $56... soo.... great buy. I don't care what consumer reports have to say about compressed cardboard or whatever. I listened to them and they sound awesome. Price wasn't bad either.

    Decent Speakers

    • Written by from Los Angeles

These speakers produce a very high quality sound at a low to moderate volume level. However, if you would like to have a room filling sound system, these speakers are not for you. once the volume is turned loud, the sound starts to ditort and warp the volume level. in other words, these are nice little speakers, but they are on the wimpy side. If you would like some more powerful speakers, I recommend the Logitech Z-5500 Digital Surround speakers.

These are no good...flat, muddy, dull

    • Written by from plymouth

These speakers (like the rest of BOSE) sound flat and dull. They have no EQ on the speakers which forces you to EQ everything from the computer and always have a setting on. If you are looking for decent speakers you can get some with better quality for much cheaper. Bose is very overpriced and VERY overrated. You're pretty much just paying for the name. But I bought these and some triport headphones (at a big discount too) and I'm selling mine on ebay for better and cheaper stuff.

    Blose

    • Written by from Sharon Springs

Seriously folks, if you are lookinf for high quality sound, BLOSE is not where it is at. Ever wonder why they do not produce graphs of the mids, lows, and highs as well as build components? It is not because they think their sound is the best, they just dont want you to know you are spending 100 dollars on a 5 dollar speaker. Their revolutionary material in this speaker is nothing but compressed cardboard. Which produces Blose's "legendary" boomy, unbalanced and warm sound (these are not good things). If you need confirmation look at why Blose sued consumer reports for giving their product a bad review....VERY interesting. But for people like me it is nice, because it lets all the rest of us know who doesnt have a clue in the audio world. So go throw 99 dollars down the toilet and then you will have a better purchase with even better sound quality. You are better off buying B&W, Klipsch, KEF or Jamo if you want sound quality. So before you go saying bose is the most respected sound, do some research, and you will find they are FAR from it, they are the most respected advertising company and that is ALL.
