Utter garbage: glacial, archaic and red-mist inducing!
Written by GC from Houston

In short I can't believe a company like Apple, with its quality reputation for image manipulation and software reliability, has sanctioned and sold this awful software. the design templates are so basic, dull, simple and archaic they seem designed for children (I'm a teacher, I've seen this is child-friendly programs) or fans of 80s graphic design. It runs at glacial speed, especially when loading the thumbnail images I might want to put on the graphics. In order to choose the image you try to scroll up and down the thumbnails and I get a minute's timelapse spinner then I've shot past the one I want. Back and forth I go before finally getting the shot I want. Half an hour into the process and the program crashes and simply disappears from the screen. I've tried time and again to master this, to find shortcuts, to be patient, but now feel the need to vent the red mist here before I pummel my otherwise wonderful iMac into dust!

No Good!

I paid for this... not sure why in retrospect. Looked like it would work great and says you can create completely custom templates, not true. You can only create masks to go onto their templates, and you can't move pieces, images or anything else anywhere you want - only where they want it. Text editing functions are probably the most useless effects and hard to manouvre to where you want them because only certain templates allow you to have text in certain ares, but you are restricted to the types of text they think you will use for those templates.
DO NOT BUY THIS! This is a waste of money. If this product actually did what it advertises, as it advertises, then it would be decent product.... BUT IT DOESN'T!47 of 58 people found this useful

This is pretty but useless.

My beef with Disc Cover is that it supports so few paper stocks and printers that you're going to probably wind up buying another program anyway. Disc Cover also doesn't let you do much as far as real design goes and is full of cheesy artwork. I don't like pre-made templates and artwork, it just screams cheap and lazy.
There are much better products than this for about the same price. Discus, anyone?84 of 140 people found this useful

A great program

This program is so easy to use. I love the fact that you can drop in iPhoto pictures right from the menu, then crop/adjust color etc. Even the basic package($34.99) gives you a lot of clip art options (although the higher priced one has even more, apparently). I downloaded and installed it quickly, they email you the authorization code in about 20 or 30 min. A good value, makes CD labels/booklet inserts effortless.

Very Very Nice

The thing most appealing about this is that it is integrated with iLife. The only negative is that the templates are a little childish but there are still many good ones to use for more "professional looks". Also comes with all of the printing info for a wide variety of label paper. Great product!

works perfectly with iLife, fonts look sharp, easy to use interface, has tons and tons of paper stock selections, templates look very good for quick projects. Worth every penny. Great product for a great price. If you are looking for a well designed application to make labels and covers effortlessly, then look no further.

I haven't owned a label program since OS 9 back in 1999 and this one for OS 10 in 2007 is really easy, but I just wish it had more professional templates. The templates are rather child like for my taste. But it is a easy Product to use and well made.

Excellent Buy, worth every penny.

I bought this software for use in labeling copies of a production I had done. The plethora of templets available are amazing, most Windows labeling programs don't have this kind of selection and flexibility. The integration with iTunes and iPhoto are flawless and the ease of use is amazing. I got this without any manuals and was easily able to learn the program .
I highly recommend it, especially if you are thinking of buying one of there other programs. From one to the next, the interfaces are relatively the same, allowing for easy learning of each of their programs.204 of 273 people found this useful

I have used a few different CD label programs. My last one, which I bought through the Apple store also, was a pretty good (fair) program, but quit working after I upgraded to Tiger.
This software is not a windows program that has been written to work with Apple computers. It is Mac through and through. No hangups or stalling, so far the performance has been flawless. I am so pleased with this program, I wish I had bought it long ago.
The templates and the art work are very high quality (as opposed to low and medium quality of other programs) and this program is very simple to work with. I was a bit concerned when it arrived and the box only contained two discs and no instructions booklet; however, after I started using the program, those concerns were laid to rest.
If you're looking for a good label program to work with on your Mac, you're going to really like this program. It is high quality and very simple to work with. I strongly recommend it.285 of 379 people found this useful
