I bought this at the recommendation of an apple associate and I ended up cleaning the the covering just as much as I was cleaning my macbook. Definitely not worth it.

Decent but know what you're getting

First off, let me say that I think that the price is ridiculous and that I probably would not have purchased this. However, my friend got it for me as a gift.

With that said, I was skeptical at first about its quality. I read a number of the reviews and noted that people were complaining about a sticky residue left on the Mac. After using this product, I have to say that while their complaints are warranted, the various one-star ratings given to this product don't quite do it justice. So here's my take:

Just to get it out of the way, I will first say that the keyboard cover is amazing. It protects the beautiful glossy screen of my Macbook and doubles as a wipe. It's also washable. It does only barely cover the keyboard, but I don't see much of a problem here if you just pay attention to how you lay it prior to closing your computer. I'd give the wipe 5 stars on its own.

The palm cover, on the other hand, is a mixed bag. I had no problems putting it on or taking it off, so I don't know what people are complaining about when they said that. It doesn't come off easily, but it IS stuck on with ADHESIVE. You'd have a problem if it came off easily. It also doesn't leave a sticky residue if you're careful to peel off the glue layer WITH the actual leather layer. It's easy just to pull off the leather layer if you're not careful. It also does get brown with residue.

On the plus side, however, it DOES feel good to rest your hands on it and it prevents the actual machine from getting discolored. So it does its job. It's just not perfect.

it was simple to put on and i always talk about wherever i go and someone asks to use my computer....ive had it on for a year....inever had any problems that the ones below have stae\ted...its a great thing to get for ur macbook!

I bought my MacBook over the summer and I was trying to always keep my laptop clean but it alway seemed that the hand rest was always getting dirty and I made sure to alway was my hands before using it, but it still seemed to get dirty. This product seems very useful to prevent it from getting worse and it is comfortable having it on. I was really hard for me to put it on and I still ended up with an air bubble, also this porduct seems a bit difficult to take off, not because I don't want it on but because I wanted to place it better and to get that air bubble out but it didn't turn out too bad. I pretty much have it on straight the only thing that bothers me is that bubble... arrrgh! Oh well... but I do think it is a good investment to buy for your MacBook. Also the keyboard cover comes in handy to clean the screen and to place it over the keyboard. I do recommend this product... remember it is better to spend a little to keep your apple product looking like new...
The only reason I give this product 4 stars is because it was a bit difficult to put on other than that this is a great product.

Well, i put this on last night and so far i love it. It doesnt seem like it will come off though, but what was the point of buying it if i was just going to take it off. not bad, may be something better out there.

Do Not Buy

I bought this product because my handrest was getting dingy. After a few weeks, I began to see a smudgy line left on the screen from pressing down against the handrest when the laptop is closed. It's not easy to clean off. As for the handrest cover itself, I have left it on for several months, trusting the "no residue" promise. But I decided to take it off and found a layer of sticky residue in the areas I've peeled off. I'm very worried about my computer; hoping carefully cleaning the handrest with rubbing alcohol will help. Very disappointed with this product, not worth the $20 at all.

Never Buy This!

I bought this thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Until I tried to take it off. I took it off and it left this nasty residue all over my handrest. I tried to get the residue off but that didnt work. Instead of keeping it from getting destroyed, it helped in destroying it. I advise no one to ever buy this product, unless your looking to ruin your Macbook.

Its Okay

I just put it on my MacBook and I can already see that its not going to be easy to take off. It has left residue already after 1 hour after application so I'd be really careful when deciding to buy it. It does whatever its supposed to, just not as perfect as they make it seem.

I bought this so that i could keep all the grease off my mac, and it does just that. The hand pad, though, has turn a yellow-y color, probably should have bought the black one.

I just got this, and it already sort of annoys me. The keyboard cover is pointless and I am afraid that the wrist pad is going to stick bad. I pretty much regret buying this. keep your $20

GREAT PRODUCT.... AT FIRST.....

When I first bought this product I was very satisfied. As anyone else that has just gotten their macbook they want to protect it from scratches. The keyboard cover just bearly covers all the keys, but is great to clean the screen. The wrist rest cover is a different story.
On the package it says it is "easy" to remove and re-apply. Well it is NOT easy to remove, you feel as if you are about to pull your mac apart from pulling so hard! Also, is stated there is no residue left behind...NOT TRUE. I did find sticky residue left behind especially at the corners. After working so hard to take it off carefully, it got stretched out and I couldnt re-apply it! My roommate bought one as well, still has hers on because it is really stuck on there, and she is worried to damage the mac from pulling so hard!
Overall this product is overpriced for something that can damage the beauty of your mac!

i got the black one for my black macbook and it is awesome....the keyboard cover does caver all the keys and also is a great screan cleaner...the wrist pad cover is also great...i have been noticeing no glue or stickyness on my mac...everytime i peel it off to check it sticks back like i had it...air bubbles are easy to get out and it is fairly easy to get on just line it up with the trackpad and dont stretch it

Good protection

I ordered one of this long time ago, it was folded but i managed to applie it just fine. ever since i enjoyd its feeling. its great and it never felt off. it was actually hard to pull it off the one time I was trying to do so to check if it leave any residue on my macbook. and it dosen't! so Im here again to order another one.

Horribly executed, barely useful

As most of indicated, the keyboard cloth works great - think of it as the thin layer of foam which ships with the macbook, only less cumbersome and softer.

The palm rest is nothing more then a piece of steaming fecal matter. There is no easy way to apply it correctly, it barely fits properly, it's to stretchy and thus if not applied with expert precision the first time, it won't work.

I can't speak to it's long term effects as I trashed it upon trying it the first time.

The cloth is worth it, the palm rest is horrid, and thus $20 is quite a bit for the cloth.

Packaging interferes with function

I bought a protection back for my 1st generation 13" white MacBook after reading the reviews warning about creases in the pad. I left the pad under 4 books to flatten for a week while I went out of town. When I came back, there were still big creases in the wrist pad, especially in the center. I didn't bother to install it, I just returned it to the store and got my money back. Since the pad is folded up in 4 in the packaging, I guess this is a problem with most of the products and didn't try another one. If they sold this product flat, though, I'd try it again because it otherwise seemed nice.

I also saw that the keyboard cover was about 1/4 inch too small in width to cover all the keys. I don't know if the keyboard dimensions are slightly different for the 1st & 2nd generation MacBooks or if the product is inconsistently sized, because some reviewers have mentioned that the cover is fine. In my case, the edges of the first and last keys stuck out and could have left scratch marks on the screen. I kept the foam pad that originally came with the laptop and that has worked well to save my screen from keyboard marks. I've also seen people use overhead/transparency sheets to save their screens.

Very disappointed!

I bought this protection pack about a month ago, at first it was awesome, I love it! The package said it would prevent staining from happening, which was why I bought it because my wirst pad had discoloration. After awhile of using it, I began to notice the stains on the protection bad. I'm totally bummed out! I went to take it off the other day, and there is glue on my wrist pad! I use the cloth as a mouse pad! It's a waste of 20 dollars, don't waste your money with this thing!

Be careful....

The only part of this product I am satisfied with is the cloth cover for the keyboard. It is great for keeping the screen from getting those key markings and dust build up.

HOWEVER...
What I am very disappointed with is the cover for the palm rest. Although it does a great job of protecting, it also claims that no sticky residue will be left after you remove the cover. THIS IS A FALSE CLAIM!! I have just spent an hour getting this sticky residue off my computer, and I am NOT HAPPY, as you could probably understand why. What upsets me more is that when I asked the sales representative about the product before I purchased it, he also claimed that it would leave no sticky residue!

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but I would be very cautious if you are considering purchasing this product.

Good product!

I just bought it today. It works fine for my white macbook. I like the feeling of the skin. It makes the macbook looks much whiter and cleaner. It was a great choice but the price is a little bit too much.
