Worst buy ever...
Written by VH from Orange
May 21, 2009
The edge turns black and sticky. The surface became black after a while and you can't even wipe it clean. The laptop looks cheap and dirty with it on. Lucky for me, when I peel it off, there was only some sticky residue on the edge, which I cleaned off using a damp cloth. Don't make the mistake of buying this useless overpriced piece of plastic. It's a waste of time, money, and energy. If there was a rating option of negative stars, this would receive a negative 3 stars from me.

LOVE IT!
Written by SH from Rancho Palos Verdes
Jan 19, 2009
I love this product. I bought it the same day I got my mac, put it on, and haven't taken it off since. I originally didn't put it on exactly as I wanted it, but it was easily fixed. I advise you to have someone help you and do the process very slowly so as to avoid bubbles. (You might even be able to get someone in the apple store to apply it for you.) But it works great and doesn't feel sticky around the edges, lies flat and fits perfectly. After 6 months its starting to not be as white as it originally was, so I'll probably replace it soon.
Only 4 stars out of 5 because 5 out of 5 is just overrated.10 of 12 people found this useful

I just took my first one off. It didn't leave any marks and looks great underneath. It is not a re-useable product, but eh... what's 20 bucks. Buy one if you don't want your mac to discolor :)

Buyer beware
Written by GG from Blandon
Sep 22, 2008
I got this after the top casing to my Mac cracked from normal use. I thought it would protect it better. It seems to have, although I'm left with a few problems. The first on is that it gets dirty and is impossible to clean, and the second is that it leaves a sticky residue if you try to remove it, which is also impossible to clean. I'm going to need to replace my top case now!

keyboard cover too small
Written by DP from Chiang Mai
Sep 18, 2008
I've had the wrist protector on for about 1.5 years...surely needs to be replaced at this point, but it has mostly done its job. The keyboard cover, however, is too small - ideally the thick stitched edge should fit nicely into the groove alongside the keyboard, but it doesn't reach that far. Thus it adds unnecessary pressure between the outer keys and the screen and has left permanent marks on my screen over time. I'd stick with just the wrist cover and skip the full protection pack.

No issues
Written by SL from Jacksonville

I've gone through two of these (I'm oily--whatever) and I've not had ANY issues with this product. It does exactly what it says: prevents my white macbook from getting dirty.
Also, it helps protect the edge of the macbook where the little feet from the screen come down and hit the plastic. My cousin's laptop had cracked in these two areas, but the palm rest helped to buffer the "impact."
Lastly, those of you that had issues with the adhesive, not sure what happened there, because I had VERY EASY removal BOTH times, just like it advertises.5 of 6 people found this useful

I just removed the first protection pack for my computer (replacing with a new one) what little residue from the adhesive remained on my computer came off easily. The pad did show dirt but a little of it could be removed using the anti-bacterial wipes from the store. I will continue using this product for a long time to come.

Marware Protection
Written by JB from ODENTON

This really does keep your white computer clean. The only slight problem is that it leaves behind some residue. You have to work to get it off of your Mac.

Gets the job done
Written by TK
Jun 13, 2008
I got this with my MacBook last August to prevent it from scratching and staining. It does both reasonably well, except finger and skin oils slowly turn it yellow. I've cleaned it with Windex, 409, bleach, etc, and it stays mostly clean but still isn't pearl white anymore. I use my computer more than the average user, and for it to stay this clean for this long, it was worth every penny.
However, it is NOT "re-stickable". It comes off like a sticker on a hot car window, leaving the slime. It all comes off with a bit of scrubbing though. Just make sure you get it on straight the first time, and you'll be fine. There's NO product in the world that is designed to be peeled on and off a plastic case every day.
I don't understand the other negative reviews, this does what it's designed to do admirably well. As long as you clean it once a month and get it on right the first time, you won't have any problems at all.

Upset -- VERY with the Marware hand rest
Written by CP from Post Mills
May 31, 2008
What a mess. I've had the Marward hand rest cover on my Macbook for many months. Now, I've removed it and it has left a thick layer of adhesive rock-glued onto the hand rest. The vegetable oil idea has not worked at all. I'm next going to try alcohol or other solvent. Isn't that great. This product is an enemy of the Mac laptops.

Adhesive Removal Made Easy
Written by RW from Roswell
Apr 19, 2008
For those of you having issues with the adhesive, smear a thin layer of vegetable oil over the adhesive left on your machine, then wait an hour or so. The adhesive can then be removed with a paper towel. If you have a stubborn spot, simply repeat. I personally love the Marware palm rest protection, but the keyboard/screen protection is poorly made.

They say that this product leaves no residue when removed. THEY LIED! I took mine off, and spent over an hour scraping and rubbing my computer with alcahol before I got all the sticky residue off.

Not easy to remove as the package claims!
Written by AS from San Ramon
Feb 24, 2008
I have had the Marware on my white Macbook for several months now. It got a bit dirty, so I decided to take it off and put a new one on. But the Marware left behind a thick, sticky layer of residue that I can't remove! It's really sticky (not to mention, unsightly and annoying) and I will probably have to use Goo-gone or something similar - but I'm scared to damage my computer! Bottom line: the package is not honest in its claim that the hand rest is "Easy to remove and reapply"!

works well enough
Written by AL from mukilteo

This is the second one I've bought and used. I bought it because I didn't want my macbook to get dirty and worn where the my palms/wrists typically rest while I type. I think ti works fine for that purpose. I also had the first one on for almost a year and it came of easily, but left a few sticky marks, which I would expect from anything. (I used rubbing alcohol to remove the stickiness). I had to get a new one because the one I had just got dirty looking since it is white-- otherwise there was no reason to.

Great Product!
Written by SB from Fords
Dec 29, 2007
This protection pack must be on the top 10 "need to get when you purchase a macbook" list. This product is great because it protects the parts next to the trackpad of those palm marks. On my old laptop (not a mac) after so much use, you could see where my palms used to rest when I typed. This product eliminates those worries, and it's more important on this laptop because it's white, so it's going to show even more. And the cleaning cloths is just an extra bonus. Oh, and by the way, for the people who are worried that when you peel it off, that it's going to leave residue behind, don't worry, it won't. I peeled my protection sticker thing like 3 times. I had to switch macbooks because the first one I had had something wrong with it. So even after 3 weeks of being on the first mackbook, I peeled it off and put in on my new one. I felt if it left any residue on the old one, and it didn't! Great Product!
