It works as well as apple's

This is so cool. it works practically everywhere, and it even works as a USB power charger. This is better than Apple's Solution because theirs has like 15 different pieces as well as the charger. This one is just 3 pieces, the Universal Adapter that works in the US as well and two adapter caps that plug into the back. the first is an outlet adapter with the female versions of everything in the front. this means that it works both ways, converting an American Plug into a British one, and a Brithish one into an american one. The other adapter cap is a USB port for your stuff that charges Via USB (Anyone with a Razr?), like an iPod. This is cheaper than Apple's Stuff put together, and it works if you are taking a Multi Country Trip, where Apple's isn't practical because you have to Yank the plug out of the charger everytime you go somewhere. If you have an Apple Laptop, this is not for you, go buy apple's thing because theirs wors with your iBook or MacBook chargers as well, and this DOES NOT HAVE A GROUND PORT, so don't try. It also does not work with Hairdryers, but because pretty much every house (and hotel room) in the Known universe has one of those, it doesn't matter. But if you aren't doing any Hair Drying or Curling, then buy this.

I have the one without USB. This All-In-One adapter worked great everywhere. And it has a fuse. You need this product. Are you still looking for all the lost little pieces of your travel adapter? Forget it and buy this.

    BEST THERE IS!!!!

I have one of these without the USB and I believe that this is by far the best adapter I have seen. I go back and fourth from europe and australia all the time so this really lets me charge any of my electronics. Weather it's my laptop, iPod, or phone charger, it'll charge for sure with no problem! I have had mine for almost 2 years now and it so far not one problem. If you are looking for an adapter, this is the one to get.

I have owned this product since 2006, and never had a problem with it. I in fact have two, one for plug conversion and the other for USB charging. I travel frequently and it it irreplaceable.

    Not impressed.

Bought one passing through Heathrow. Ordered Apple's kit the day I got back. Everything is "sticky" (mechanisms not smooth; got stuck open a few times); very bulky. Thought it would be a dream; still can't get the top attachment out to reveal the usb port...it's bulky and poorly implemented. I gave it 2 b/c if you can keep it from pulling itself out of the socket, it will work.

    Blows internal fuse too often

    Written by KC from Vancouver

    Aug 3, 2007

I bought two of these to use in Europe, kept frying fuse. Thank goodness they have extra one under top lid. Wasn't using anywhere with bad power surges and just with laptop. Happened in 4 different 4star hotels during trip so I don't believe you want to depend on these things. Also the unit is quite heavy and without a ground plug it doesn't hang well from European wall outlets. Have to hold in place with hand to keep contacts charging, better suited to AC outlets on the ground if there are any. Overall, not recommended, good idea, but poorly executed.

I bought this adapter for my trip to Italy. It worked for the first 5 days, then it just stopped. Now I'm forced to go find another one just so my computer will work. What a load.

    Worthless on my trip

Perhaps it was a fuse--I don't know, but we never got this charger to work in South America so I ended up lugging it all the way home with the thought of returning it to Apple when I got back. But, somewhere along the way, I lost a piece and so I couldn't even return it! I would not buy another one of these.

    It's Misleading and Poorly Manufactured

    Written by CC from Howell

    Aug 17, 2009

This power adapter is clunky and poorly manufactured. It's only redeeming feature is the USB power conversion, which is hardly worth the price. You're much better off going to your local radio and electronics outlet, and buying a much better set of actual plugs for you to use. Mine broke down on the second day of use, and if you're overseas, that is not good. The pins don't lock into place easily. You still need a voltage converter to step down from 220 to 110, so you might as well get a sturdy plug for a much cheaper price!

Do not buy any Kensington products

    Written by KC from Lowell

    Oct 14, 2009

I bought Kensington Travel Plug a few years ago (the one without USB charger), used it for a couple of times oversea and it's now broken. In the same year, I also bought Kensington 70W Universal AC/DC power adapter, used it only once oversea and when I returned back home, this adapter was dead. I called Kensington followed by many emails, no one responded back. Bad customer service + bad products. Not recommended.

    Terrible

    Written by SH from Annapolis

Bought it to use in the Czech Republic. Did not fit properly into their electrical outlets - charging was sporadic. You had to jiggle the adapter to get it connect and even then it didn't provide good charging. Ended up buying one there for about one tenth the cost of the Kensington Charger and the Czech one worked great.
