Call of Duty 2
Much better than expected on a MACBOOK.
Written by DW from Commack

I have never had a first person shooter before and I was very hesitant about how this game would run on a Macbook (Black, 2.2 GHz, 144 MB Graphics, 1 GB RAM), but it was fantastic. Also, is the multiplayer mode free and if I go to Israel can I still play it? (I am living in America now). Thanks in advance.

Call of Duty 2
Great!!!!!!
Written by JS from New York

This game is absolutely amazing. It works great on my 2GHz Intel Core 1 Duo MacBook with 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (Leopard installed) with barely any lag. The single player campaign is great until you finish it, then it gets boring and you move on to the multiplayer, which is incredible. I only wish that the game had custom maps like multiplayer, but you could do whatever you want. All in all, this game is worth all $50 and the single and multiplayer games are amazing.

Call of Duty 2
Amazing !! (Multiplayer)
Written by TT
Nov 19, 2007
The single player mode on this only entertained me for a day or two. However, the multiplayer on-line mode is absolutely, amazing and is addictive !! I wouldn't get this game if you can't get access to the multiplayer mode. It has a large range of maps and game modes eg. Team deathmatch, Headquarters. I have had this game for over a year now and I would still get it now if I were you. I play it nearly everyday. Absolutely amazing on-line mode. There are lots of clans that you can join and lots of fun glitches on each map. You can get used to the game easily and there is a good little tutorial on the single player missions at the beginning. =] Get it !

Lags on leopard?
Written by JD from NORTH HAVEN

I just a top spec. 24 inch iMAC and installed leopard after unpacking it. The game lags pretty badly and ruins the game play. I'm dissapointed because I've been looking forward to getting this game after reading all the great reviews. Apart from this issue it seems like it would be a good game!

Call of Duty 2
Awesome Game!
Written by PU from Clifton
Nov 11, 2007
I've been a Call of Duty fan since the first one came out. Call of Duty 2 is one of the best game ever. I have a 2.16 GHZ iMac 24 inch 2 Gig ram 256 Video Ram. It ran really great on Mac OS X 10.4. Until I bought 10.5. I put Leopard on, and I was amazed with it. But, when I started playing, it lagged. Not the connection. I'm running on 1600x1000 resolution(the previous setting with 10.4). I have no idea why it lags, and it's really annoying after I played a year with it on 10.4. I might have to wait for the updates for the 10.5, so that I can play with it. That's why I only gave 4 stars.
If you have 10.4, buy this game. Multiplayer is great.

Very well made, but not that exciting
Written by HP from ÄLMHULT

First of all, I'd recommend anyone who isn't a total newcomer to FPS to play this game in hardened mode. I did the mistake of starting in regular mode since I'm not a very good player, and it's way to easy, you can walk effortlessly through the whole game.
That said, the game is very well made. The graphics, sound, level design etc. is top notch. However, I didn't find the game all that exciting. No moment in this game really got my blood rushing. It felt more like an interactive history lesson if you know what I mean.
Very well made, decent game. But certainly not in the top 20.33 of 56 people found this useful

DO NOT BUY IF U HAVE A MACBOOK PRO!!!
Written by ME from Maquoketa
Oct 4, 2007
Please do not waste your precious money if you have a new MacBook Pro with the Santa Rosa chipset in it (2.2 and 2.4 GHz models). The game crashes continuously, and puts the computer into kernal panic. There is nothing you can do except to restart your machine. I was highly dissapointed because I know for a fact that this software runs flawlessly on MacBooks and even older G5 iMacs.... Even with the v1.3 patch installed, this continues to happen. Aspyr will not help you with it, and as far as I know, there is nothing that can be done to prevent this from happening. Apparently the Santa Rosa chipsets are not compatible with the programming (hence why the MacBooks and iMacs run the game without issue).
Save your money and your frustration, and buy a game that actually works on your MBP!!!!
P.S. If you have any other Mac, I give this game 5 stars. You can completely disregard this review if you do not have a MacBook Pro. It is really a fun game; I just wish that it ran on MacBook Pros.43 of 54 people found this useful

Sick.. Absolutely Sick.
Written by TW from Higley

This game is one of the greatest ww2 shooters of all time and to have it for mac is awesome.. The graphics, AI, Gameplay, and multiplayer are all amazing. I have this game for my PC with an AMD Dual Core, 2 Gigs of RAM, and a GeForce 7800 GS and THIS GAME STILL LAGS A LITTLE ON ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS!! So I get it and run it on my 15.4" Macbook Pro (2.33 Ghz, 2 Gigs RAM, 256mb ATI X1600) and it runs FLAWLESSLY on full settings.. even with antilasing at 4x! (I even ran iTunes, 3 web pages in safari, and iChat in the background while playing the game and it still ran almost perfectly with the exception of a little lag). If you have the power to run this game, I'd DEFINITELY get it. One of the greatest games of all time :)

My, Oh My.
Written by TH from Chehalis

Fact: This game is the best WWII shooter for Mac that there has ever been. It's rewriting the books in level design and has incredible AI. If you don't have this game already, then you are missing out on the best shooter of the last several years. The graphics are incredible. The only bummer is the high system requirements, but, if your mac is up for the challenge of running this game, you're in for one heck of a ride.

The Demo runs great on intel iMac.
Written by BT
Apr 1, 2007
On March 31, 07 I bought a new Intel iMac. The first thing I downloaded was the Call of Duty 2 Demo to see how it would handle it. It runs great!! Most of the settings I set to default or normal (medium settings). I set the screen resolution up to 1024x640 with Anti-Aliasing at 2x. I haven't tried the game with any higher settings than that yet. Overall, the demo of Call of Duty 2 runs great on my iMac. My computer specs are 20" iMac, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 128 MB GDDR3 ATI Radeon X1600, 250 GB HD, 1 GB DDR2 SD-RAM.

This game is amazing, spectacular. Runs smoothly with my mac mini and has awesome graphics. The A.I's will try anything to stand back up and kill you, so shooting them in the leg wont stop them from attempting to kill you. The story for the game is amazing, your team mates are great help so another words, this game isn't about a big hero slaying 3000 mens. You are nothing more then a soldier sent to war with others. Buy it, love it, play it.
Hope to see you on the battlefield.50 of 78 people found this useful
