AWSOME!

This game is one of the best I have ever played! Its way more intense than star wars battlefront, and beats xplane by a long shot. Although the grenades are a little unpredictable. The graghics are good, but all you have to do is go to options, click graghics and change it to high quality. This adds more dynamic lights, and makes the water look incredible! This makes the game look awsome. I highly recommend this game to you. Trust me, its worth the money.

Great Game

This has been a great game for me that I have spent hours playing ever since I got the game. On my 2.4 GHz MBP and 4 GB of RAM, the graphics are great and the game puts you right in the middle of the fight. I would recommend this game for anyone who was a great action game.

Good game. A classic!
Written by BS from RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA

The positive: good graphics plays great on most Macs, game is long and gives you time to play and enjoy missions, you dont feel rushed or forced through missions.
The negative: old game, crashed sometimes for unknown reasons but not frequent enough to pose problems.
Summary: not worth the $50+ dollars youll pay through the Apple store but is a better overall game than Call of Duty 4.

Great game, but WAY overpriced on Mac
Written by RK from Milwaukee

No doubt this is a great game, but it's so old now that it's just baffling that anyone would pay $50 for it today. I think it's going for less than $20 on any other system.

mine had glitches
Written by MD from Stafford Township

Everyone else says this game is great. It is very cool, however, with my new 24" imac with the new radeon HD 2600 pro graphics card, 256 vram, 2gb mem, and 2.8 ghz hard drive, I still experienced glitches. The disc might be defective, I dont know. I sent this game back because it wouldnt stop freezing and quitting to mac osx main window.

Pretty good, worth the money
Written by JS from APO
May 29, 2008
I purchased this game for the simple reason, there wasn't much else to choose from.
The game is pretty good, and the hard levels are really hard. The AI for the game is decent. It still feels dated, but not so bad that it is annoying.
They really need to get Call of Duty 4 out for the Mac, better machine = better game in my book.
Good game, good game play but a little dated.35 of 62 people found this useful

This game is by far the best first person shooter available! Amazing graphics, and the multiplayer game that comes with it is even better! You can play against other Call Of Duty 2 players from all over the world. Truely a blast and definitely worth the money.

CoD2 on new 20" iMac, OSX Leopard
Written by TB from Glen Ellyn
Apr 7, 2008
Just bought this game and installed it on my new 20" iMac. It runs perfectly on Leopard - granted, I have 2.4 Ghz and have also upgraded to 4GB RAM. No chops, no lag, no glitches that I have seen, and I am almost finished with getting all the way through it.
Downloading the upgrade patch for Call of Duty 2 from Aspyr's website is a MUST. It will take you like 2 minutes and will help with performance.
Excellent game on an excellent platform. If only every gaming company had as good Mac support. Aspyr seems to be doing well adapting/programming for the Mac platform. The graphics are totally superior on Macs anyway. Looking forward to playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.62 of 113 people found this useful

Working for me on Leopard and my 24" iMac
Written by FD from Raleigh
Jan 11, 2008
I purchased a new 24" iMac (2.8 GHz/2 GB mem) late in 2007. I then installed Leopard upon its availability. Seeing these complaints about COD 2, I hesitated until now to purchase it, but I took the chance last week and so far, so good. I installed the game and my immediate experience was that when I started it, I got nothing but a black screen and no sound. After a few tries, I realized that perhaps if I restarted my iMac, it would work. It did. I then downloaded the 1.3 patch from Aspyr and started the game. As I said, so far, so good. By the way, I had played version 1 a lot on my older iMac (800MHz) but only in single-player mode. Too date, I've only played COD 2 in single-player mode as well. I love playing this game.

Excellent game.

Very fun game, with awesome sound if you have good speakers & sub setup. I just wish there was more to the one player portion, it seemed very easy to beat and there wasn't a whole lot to it. Fortunately, once you are bored with that, you can move on to multi-player, and with the world's most dangerous prey in your sights, it rarely gets boring.

Awsome game. Runs Great on Macbook Pro 2.2Ghz, 15"
Written by CG from Wallingford

Was hesitant to purchase this game based on one of the reviews warning that it didn't run good on the Macbook Pro with the Santa Rosa chipset. I have to say that I encountered no problems at all with the game. It never froze or crashed once. Ran very smoothly on the optimal default settings. I installed the available patch, installed the game and have been enjoying it since... I have 4 gigs of ram and the GeForce 8600M GT graphics board with 128 megs. I would highly recommend this game to anyone with a Macbook Pro.

Call of Duty on G5
Written by BC

I have a G5 mac that does not have the recommended intel core inside of it. All I have to say is that it runs fine. The graphics are good, it runs smoothly, and the multiplayer is great. The game will slow down now and then when there are more then about 10-15 people on the screen. I say that if you want a great shooter with awesome multiplayer and single-player action, this is the game for you.

GREAT GAME!!

I bought this game because I needed a fun game that I could play for a very long time. And this was that game. I read a review saying that it ran good on macbooks with 2 GHz intel core 2 duo so i bought this game, because that's what i have. If you're looking at this game, and enjoy first person shooters, then definitely check this game out!

Call of Duty 2
Excellent On My Macbook Pro 2.2
Written by SA from Clermont
Dec 19, 2007
Right after I ordered this game, I saw a review below saying that this game crashed all the time on someone's Macbook Pro 2.2 with the Santa Rosa chipset. I just purchased my Macbook Pro in June, so I am sure that I have the same chipset (2.2 and 2.4 are Santa Rosa correct?). Anyway, I was alarmed that I had just spent good money on a game that was going to crash alot. However, I have played this game for several hours and it has only crashed twice... and in fact has not crashed at all the last several times I have played it.
The DEMO of this game however, did crash on my machine ALOT, but I attributed this to the fact that it was just a demo. I did add the patch to my purchased verion before I started playing... not sure if that was the ticket or not.
This game is incredibly fun... the single player missions are well designed, the environments are incredible (very immersing) and the sound production is amazing.
I have played very little multi-player, but the little I have done I did find a bit frustrating, only because there are MANY folks out there playing this online and most of them have modified that game and you have to download those mods before joining their server. The game automatically detects that you need the mod and will begin downloading it for you which is great, but this can take 5-40 minutes (high-speed broadband) depending on the mod. Once downloaded however, some folks have been very creative in the mods and this makes for a unique experience on each modified server game.35 of 67 people found this useful

Much better than expected on a MACBOOK.
Written by DW from Commack

I have never had a first person shooter before and I was very hesitant about how this game would run on a Macbook (Black, 2.2 GHz, 144 MB Graphics, 1 GB RAM), but it was fantastic. Also, is the multiplayer mode free and if I go to Israel can I still play it? (I am living in America now). Thanks in advance.
