I am Roller Coaster Tycoon's Biggest Fan. I swithched to Macintosh from PC about a month ago and read on their (Atari's) Website that they were not making a version for mac. A few weeks later I found out they were. I was so exited because I had already had Roller Coaster Tycoon 1,2, and 3 for windows and was happy to hear they were making the greatest game ever for mac.

Simply The Best

I have played all 3 in the trilogy.
RCT 3 is simply amazing.
RCT 3’s producer at Frontier, Johnny Watts stated in an August '05 interview that "if RCT3 is going to be as popular on MAC as it was PC that the expansion packs Soaked & Wild will defiantly be available for future released."
As a RCT franchise fan and MAC lover, can I be the first to say…
You can count on it!

This is the greatest Roller Coaster Tycoon game yet. I played it on my friend's PC and it was great. I've waited so long for the mac version (because of it's better graphics). I am a mac fan and finally i can play my favorite game on my mac mini. I highly reccomend this game for anyone who has played Sim Theme Park (which doesn't compare to RCT 3).

Been Waitin Sooooo Looooong

This game is serious..I keep updated with IGN.com and the editors gave it a [8.5]. In my opinion, I'd give it a [8.8/8.9]. I didn't really care for the first two games, being that they were in 2D. Seeing this game in 3D, I was anxious to play it. Never got a hold of it, but I look at the review at least once a week, anticipating its release. Many of the features of this Mac build has been updated (bug and gameplay fixes mostly), which is a plus. I'm lookin foward to November 14 to head right into the Apple Store to purchase my copy.

have on PC, may buy for Mac

I own this game for my PC, and I find it to be a lot of fun to play. It appeals both to adults and children. Versions 1 and 2 were simple 2-D games, but this one is fully 3D. And, for the first time in this franchise, you can 'ride' the coasters you build.
The game play permits a career mode, where you progress through various exercises in building theme parks consisting of various thrill rides, including of course signature roller coasters. You have limited time, money, area, and have specific goals that you have to meet.
However, I find the sandbox mode more interesting, where you are freed from the constraints of money and time and can just design anything you want, to your heart's content. This is also the simplest mode for children to enjoy it.
I'm not sure why the list price is TWICE that of the PC version. For the same money, you can get the PC version, plus their "Soaked" add-on that adds waterpark features, and still have money left over for a fast food meal. If this release by Aspyr includes "Soaked", then it seems a reasonable deal.
Note that this game requires substantial performance to be playable on a PC, and I expect the Mac version will be similar in that respect. Running on a computer without a high-end video card and CPU will be disappointing.
Even though I might already have a PC game, I generally consider supporting software development for Mac OS by buying another copy for my Mac. But in this case, the list price might be way out of line.407 of 632 people found this useful
